Review from Peter F.
No longer the biggest vegan secret at the Falls!
You might not expect the revolving restaurant at the top of the Skylon Tower overlooking the Falls to make catering to vegans a priority, and at the bottom of the Tower, they didn't give us much hope either when they showed us the menu they have up there. Still, I wanted to take my girlfriend up there for a meal during her first ever visit to Niagara, and I figured we'd be giving them all kinds of special instructions on what ingredients not to put in our meals.
The waiter, definitely a seasoned veteran there, looked taken aback by what he'd have to tell his cooks in order to take care of us. Then he brought forth the unexpected: A SEPARATE BOUND VEGAN MENU with three entrees on it! This guy treated us professional, suggested olive oil in lieu of margarine for our rolls, and took our picture with the falls in the background. Be sure not to miss out on the chance to dine with class "á la vegan" when visiting the Falls, not to mention keep this menu in existence and in higher demand. Tell them to promote this menu more. Bon appétit! -

Beautiful views of Niagara Falls in this revolving restaurant! The restaurant is perfect for casual or formal dining.
The chicken caesar and the filet mignon béarnaise are outstanding. Both are very flavorful and tender.
Their cabernet sauvigon red wine is a perfect accompaniment for the chicken caesar dish & the filet mignon dish. -
Review from Alan L.
I am on the fence about this place. The good is that it has a fantastic view and you'll probably get a view of the falls about twice during a seating here. The major con is that the movement is faster than I would expect and might cause some motion sickness if you are sensitive.
The food was decent. The steak portions are pretty big. I dined on the actual dining room and not the buffet. Almost each table has a good view out the window.
Overall, I think this is a nice place if you want to get a fantastic view of the falls. -

This place was breathtaking, awsome food great service, resonable prices, and very high class a must see

My husband planned a beautiful night for my birthday at Skylon tower for dinner and site seeing later.
We were seated promptly and the manager (or host) was great; very polite and courteous. Our server was okay. It seemed as though she was trying to rush us out of there.
We had the "seared sea scallops" as the appetizer. I wanted to throw up when I saw it. It looked like liquid cheese poured over some scallops. It tasted even more disgusting, like unseasoned, uncooked, scrambled eggs.
For dinner, I ordered the "seafood symphony" (shrimp, lobster and scallops). I felt like I was at Red Lobster. I ended up chewing some side muscles of the scallops, the really chewy part you're supposed to remove. Everything just tasted careless.
My husband ordered the "Pasta 'Paupiette'", which was pretty descent. The only bad thing about it was that it didn't come out hot.
The only good thing about this place was the praline cheese cake...and the view...very nice view. It didn't revolve too fast which was nice.
Bill came up to a whopping $193 with tip.
Romantic setting; unappetizing food :( -
Review from Lisa C.
I would definitely recommend making a dinner reservation, instead of a lunch reservation. Since you're visiting Niagara Falls, I'm sure you would have also planned on riding the Maid of the Mist during the day (Dont think it'll be much fun being soaking wet at eight o'clock at night!). So why see the same thing twice? Viewing the colorfully lit falls from above is the way to go! Not to mention, the ride up to the Tower is free (with meal purchase of course).
The actual restaurant itself is so-so. The seating is rather cramped. It's dimly lit to create an intimate atmosphere, not to mention it gives a clearer view of the surroundings. The meals came with salad, main entree, and coffee/tea. I ordered the salmon. It was alright. The roasted small red potatoes, on the other hand, was not cooked all the way =(
Aside from the view, another good thing about the revolving restaurant is that it is much quicker in completing a revolution than that of the Bonaventure here in Los Angeles. (Don't get me wrong, it's not revolving as fast as a merry go round. But you do get to see the same building at least three times during your meal.)
After dinner, head on up to the outdoor observatory. If you're lucky, you might be able to catch a few glimpse of breathtaking lightnings piercing the night sky.
Must Do?: Yes. The revolving restaurant offers an excellent aerial view of not only Niagara Falls, but the surrounding area as well. The meal (salmon and steak) was not bad either.
The view: 5 stars.
The food: 3 stars. -
Review from GRACE A.
We decided to partake in the Sunday brunch, located in the Summit Suite floor (which does not rotate). It was approx. $20 pp and this did not include a drink. Also - if you order a drink, refills are extra. Fellow Yelpers posted this as well and they were right on the money. If you're all about the AYCE, you know that you don't want to waste belly space on liquids anyway. So, we just had water. We made reservations, but still had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. If you're going to lunch, I wouldn't bother with a reservation, since it seems like a first come/first serve basis.
The food was decent. Nothing to rave about, but it wasn't terrible. Just standard buffet fare. There's chocolate milk cartons, so I felt like I bested the system by getting a 'drink' without having to pay extra for it. Take that, Canadian Man! *insert fist pump in the air*
The ride to the Observation Deck is "free" when you eat here. If you don't dine, you have to pay. The view from the Observation Deck and even on the Summit Suite floor are unbelievable. Breathtaking. We were able to take some great photos of the top of the falls, and having gone on both the Maid of the Mist and Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, you won't have this type of view on either.
Overall, we had a nice brunch and got some amazing photos. -
Review from Heather V.
We read the reviews before we went, and I disagree with every review under 4 stars. YES it is a very expensive dinner but it was the best meal I've had. I dont eat seafood but I had Shrimp and scallops and LOVED them. I had the $42 chicken cordon bleu an it was gigantic but fresh and perfect. It's expensive, but it's excellent and the view is like none other. It's a little cramped but if you're going there for a lovely night out.. And you're not afraid to spend some money, you won't be disappointed.
Thank you Nick for the most amazing Dinner I've ever had *heart* -
Review from Chris B.
Here's a very fancy restaurant that was a bit pricey, especially after converting the exchange rate and such...The view is amazing, however, to get to see these views, the person has to pay lots of money, including money to ride the elevator going from a mezzanine level up ward.
The restaurant itself is a very classy restaurant. They serve not only chicken and beef products, but also some other recipes. (It's been a while since we were there last.)
I find that it took a long time to get there, and if you add it to the price of getting there and the price of the total amount on the meal, this price was too pricey for me to go back there, ever again.
To get to the restaurant, you must walk up a steep incline into the building. ONce inside, you'll reach the ground level. Inside, you fight the crowds and have to buy your ticket up the elevator to a mezzanine-type of level.
You're not the only one who rides this elevator. They take a horde of people at a time. The views on this elevator are spectacular. You can look out the window(assuming the person in front of you is short).
Once at the mezzanine level, you can walk around the outside. When you get there, you must take a short elevator ride to the restaurant level.
The restaurant doesn't revolve all the time. It's revolutions last about an hour(to make one full revolution). You get to see the Falls themselves, as well as Niagara Falls(Canada), and the bridges, and everything nearby Niagara Falls(Canadian city).
After the meal, and you're ready to leave(and have paid already), you walk to the same place near the elevator and pay. It's kinda tricky from there. As far as the elevator ride between the restaurant and the Mezzanine level, this elevator is at your leisure. Once you would like to return to a level place on the ground, you must wait for the elevator to return to your level and pick your "group" up again.
On the bottom level, shortly inside the door, there is a small giftshop that you may buy souveniers. however, please keep note of how much money you spend: it isn't customs free items. So keep the amount to a minimum, and KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!
Overall, I didn't mind this place. However, I probably wouldn't return to it, ever again. -
Review from Alena B.
I have been to the top of the Empire State Building, Sears Tower, Rockefeller Center, St Peter's Basilica, Eiffel Tower, and the Tower in Pisa. Having said that - all of them are better than Skylon Tower. It's not cheap and it took us a while to find a garage that accepted credit cards (we didn't want to get Canadian money) and it was the weekend so we really should have been able to park for free IMO.
Actually what sells this place is the cool transparent floor so that you can look all the way down the stem of the tower to the ground. They said it can bear the weight of an elephant but it still made me really nervous and a little dizzy. That's worth the wait and the entrance free. -

"Expected a restaurant, found a bus". So I've made dinner reservation a month in advance as I know how busy they are.
Once there we found 15 minutes queue on the elevator which was expected as I've read before. Once up there we were seated in few minutes.
All fair and expected BUT we found that they paired us with another couple! So they bring pairs of dinner tables together in their busy season to accommodate as many diners as possible and instead of spending a good diner evening with my wife we spent it with another pair from Alberta!! (gets you to know others for sure :))
The food was good however pricey, it is okay for a special occasion like anniversary or something.
The view was amazing; we loved the Niagara Falls illumination at night as well as the fireworks.
Everything was great but pairing with another couple was very unexpected. If I'd knew before I'd get a reservation in another place where I'll actually get my own table.
The staff told us that they do this all the time in their busy months so forget it if you want to get this changed!
Given that I wouldn't go there again unless it is winter. -

From the outside view it's a nice generic tower that is a miniature of the CN Tower from the oldschool Giftshop to the amateur Photo opportunity. The YELLOW BUG elevator took us up to the Observation Deck where there was short description near each window as to what attractions/destinations you are looking at.
Skylon Tower does sit nicely as a visual attraction from most places within the neighbourhood. Taking it's place along side the next door neighbour of Fallsview Casino which lights up so much more at night than the Skylon.
See it, Hear it, Feel it.
See it - Beautiful sights of the Falls and surrounding regions.
Hear it - The Korean Tourist Group walking around with DSLR.
Feel it - The WIND blowing my friend & I off our feet when we walk outside deck.Listed in: 24 (Niagara version)

Review from Stephanie S.
5 stars for the jaw-dropping view of Niagara Falls and 3 stars for the disappointing food. The salmon was pretty good, but the steak was just awful. I requested it rare and it came out not rare, not medium, but well-freaking-done and tough to chew. Someone suggested that I get salmon and pass on the steak, but I wanted steak and I was going to get me some steak. I should have listened.
Sure the food is pricey and forgettable, but the view will definitely make it worth your while!
Tip: Listen when they tell you to leave your purses off of the ledge next to the tables. The ledge revolves opposite the way the restaurant platform revolves. Imagine my surprise when my purse started inching away from me in the other direction. -
Review from Melvin C.
I got to have lunch and see the views of Niagara Falls from Skylon Tower during an East Coast trip in May 2010.
From a restaurant and views standpoint - Skylon Tower is amazing. The restaurant is on the top floor, which slowly rotates 360 degrees to give you an entire view of the Niagara Falls and surrounding area. Armed with my trusty Canon DSLR, I got some great photos from the rotating restaurant level.
Onto the food - fantastic. I got the prime rib cooked medium with gravy, with broccoli and potatoes. The prime rib was superbly cooked and had excellent flavor. It was polished off with ice cream over sponge cake and coffee. The wait staff was very prompt and courteous, and always kept our drinks filled.
The top level also had great views - 360 degrees of unimpeded views of the area.
The one drawback of Skylon Tower was their overall unimpressive lobby area. The atmosphere present in the swanky restaurant was not present on the first floor. An unimpressive gift shop, old floors, and a rundown arcade were all that were present on the first floor. The bathrooms had exposed pipes and walls, which, perhaps was under renovation, but I wouldn't be able to tell by the lack of any caution tape.
I had always been a fan of the area - it's been on my bucket list of places to visit, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to go. Overall - restaurant and views - fantastic. Just ignore the rest of the place. -
Review from jocelyn l.
I'm not really sure what i expected...the views were certainly nice and scenic and unobstructed...but the tower itself was quite dismal. Staff seemed like they didn't really want to be there. The lobby (where you leave) was really cheesy....looked like a Chuck E Cheese or rundown Dave & Busters. And none of the food stands were opened on a Sunday. It just looked really rundown and dismal and i didn't want to stay long...i was literally up there for 7-8 mins and left.
If it weren't for the fact that the tickets were part of the tour package, i'd have definitely given it a miss -
Review from Brandon B.
Yes its a tourist trap, yes its expensive, yes it can take a while to get up (not very long if you are on a package tour however) but this still fulfills my great desire to get up the best viewpoint of any city and get the best view of what is below. Astounding view of the falls and of the city around. I didn't eat here.

Review from Matthew A.
Yes, Yes it's a tourist trap BUT it is what it is. A huge cool space age looking tower overlooking the falls.
Thirteen bucks and up you go. The elevators are scary on the outside. Just don't look down as you go up. Yikes!
The views are breathtaking, so bring you camera. One can see Lake Ontario, Buffalo, Lake Erie, and other landmarks.
We had a drink at the bar up there. The service was friendly. The drinks came to abt. $10 each so again be prepared.
The base of the tower is kinda crappy. Its a huge arcade for kids with all kinds of amusements as well as souvenir shops.
Now I have been there and done THAT. Cross the tower off my list. -
Review from Peggy R.
Okay, I agree, the food is mediocre. My husband and I spent our anniversary here and ate the early dinner seating with the reduced menu for $35.90, included a salad, entree, chocolate mousse and your trip to the top. I had the beef stroganoff and my husband had beef tips with Bearnaise. Both entrees were okay but nothing to write home about. The service was pretty good the only problem was one of the servers English was so bad we couldn't understand him and I don't think he understood us either.
Parking was $7.00 but there was plenty near the restaurant.
The 4 stars are for the view!! AWESOME view of the falls and it is worth the money to sit for an hour and just soak up the beauty. -

Nice view of Niagara area, but I don't recommend coming here, it's not worth it.
Its a gimmick, and waste your money on it if you want. But the food is expensive, and not very good. The interior wasn't too nice looking, there are much better options elsewhere in Niagara.

Review from James M.
The view is incredible, the dining area very fancy, rotating around giving everyone a view of the falls. The steak was good, but not worth what I paid.

Review from Mike P.
My review is based on the observation deck. I didn't go to the restaurant.
Awesome views of the surrounding area, especially both the American and Canadian Falls and the Niagara River. Spend as much time as you want during operating hours. Don't forget your camera and video recorder. You'll take plenty of pictures- trust me on this!
Cool breezes are plentiful and especially welcomed on very warm days.
There is a gift store on the inside part of the observation deck which has lots of cool stuff!
The only downside- daffy tourists who are rude, have no manners and no sense of American and Canadian culture. Then again, many American and Canadian tourists were the same way. Don't let these bastards ruin your day. I didn't.Listed in: Niagara Falls, USA and Canada

Review from Joe M.
Great view but that's expected. Good food but not worth the price. Wait staff was borderline rude and, for the most part, unfriendly. However, the downstairs reservation desk and elevator operator were both extremely friendly and helpfully... and the only reason this is 3 and not 2 stars

Review from Brenda M.
Decided to splurge on a buffet dinner at the Skylon tower on our trip to Niagara Falls. It is $35 for all you can eat, NOT drink so beware each drink is charged separately. Ended up spending about $50 each after tips and whatnot. There was a VERY limited selection of food for a buffet with only a couple of proteins that I thought were even worth eating. The rest of the food was mediocre at best.
Buffet included prime rib (eh, but the best thing there), cold crab legs, bad chicken and cold salmon, pasta, noodles, salads and dessert. The best thing there was the fruit tart for dessert. YUM!
The best part was definitely the view from the restaurant! You get a panoramic view of both falls and the area surrounding the falls. GORGEOUS!!! The ride on the yellow "bug" elevator wasnt as bad as people say. I was comfortable the entire ride and not squashed at all. -
Review from Calvin D.
I 100% agree with the statement "Overpriced for sure, but the experience is awesome!"
The panoramic view of Niagara Falls was amazing!
The food wasn't as bad as everyone said it was, I guess I am just less picky?
But the 14% sales tax and 3% "tourism" charge was definitely BS! I'm never buying anything in Canada again haha -
Review from Donel L.
First time in Canada and after riding on the Maiden of the Mist we, my family, decided to go eat at the Skylon tower.
Pluses:
Revolving restaurant
High / First class dining
One of the most Greatest views in the world (view of niagara falls)
Great Food and prepared well
Wonderful Service
Negatives :
Im sure it was really expensive (i didnt pay, Mom paid for everyone)
Its really far from where im from hahah ( im from San Diego )
I think the only negative is that its really expensive, but aside from that the place is a great. -
Review from Kris K.
Observation tower & elevator: 5stars
Revolving restaurant: depends on what you get... Overpriced for sure, but the experience is awesome. Delicious French onion soup!! Kids meals are HUGE & include dessert. Chicken fingers are really yummy & real chicken breast chunks. Yummy brocolli & mashed carrots. I had smoked salmon on croissant- it was good. 2 people in our group ordered marinated salmon & said it needed lemon. Pork chop was reported to be good with a yummy curry sauce. Good service & really amazing views. -
Review from Jennifer P.
I've always wanted to eat in a revolving tower. Alas, I missed my chance again. We just went to the top for the view as part of a larger city tour. The view was great and we got some nice photos.
Note: there is a squished penny machine at the top! -
Review from Jacob H.
This place reminds me of the Bonaventure in LA. Rotating restaurant every hour. However, this place has the view of Niagara falls and the bridge from US to Canada. At night it is actually very pretty. We went with a tour group to have dinner here. While i don't really know the price since it was included with the tour i believe it was about $35 with free admission to the top. I got the steak and it was actually very good. The potatoes on the side wasn't cooked well so it wasn't too good. When we went it was during Canada Day so they had fireworks that seemed like an hour long. This place wasn't as adrenaline pumping as the glass floor at the CN tower but it was definitely worth it. It is really hard to take a picture at night since the reflection of the lights reflects on the windows. The views on the observation deck was pretty cool too since there was a slight thunderstorm and I saw lightning from the top. That itself was pretty cool. I would recommend going if you haven't been.

Review from Monica M.
My boyfriend and I were unable to score reservations for the revolving dining room so we decided to make dinner reservations for the buffet. The view from the free elevator ride (it's only free if you have a reservation) to the top was cool but you have to push and shove people if you want to see anything. Not exactly my idea of fun. We got off the elevator and stood like cattle waiting to be fed. Also, not exactly fun. We were seated about 30 minutes after our reservation time. The few servers they had were over-worked and rude to their customers. The buffet was awful and the atmosphere is not romantic. The buffet selection was small and it was difficult finding anything edible. Did I mention it was expensive? It may actually be the worst food I have ever had. You are paying for the view. We were seated so late that we had the opportunity to see the fireworks. I'll give them 2 stars because of the view and the fireworks. Don't waste your money on the food. Pay to take the elevator ride.

Review from Tiffany S.
Agree completely with Peggy C. My partner and I had a nice leisurely dinner on the rotating deck. Dress up a little if you go! View is amazing. All seats/tables have a view. Luckily, we got one right next to the window. Speaking of tables, the tables for two are rather small. With our entrees, bread basket, bread plate, wine glasses, bottle of wine, butter dish, and water glasses, I'm surprised nothing fell off the table! There are booths located a two yards from the window and raised to you can still have a nice view. The booth can accommodate 4 comfortably, 5 is kinda tight, esp if you are big peoples. Trying to seat a party of more than 6 is probably gonna get kinda hard..
Food is very good. Very pricey, though. I recommend the seafood medley (VERY good) if you can afford to splurge more than you already anticipated. We also had the french onion soup (good), escargot (ok), prime rib (very thick cut, medium-well was cooked til just pink in the middle, had quite a bit of fat on it, but still pretty good), and pecan pie a la mode (okay) for dessert. Our dinner cost more than our 2-night hotel stay!
I think the buffet offers more or less the same food that's on the menu, so if you don't care for the whole service experience, go for the buffet, it's WAY cheaper and I believe you can still go to the observation deck and check out the view and all that.
Service was okay. They were friendly smiles when they came around, but not particularly attentive (I don't recall they returned to check on us after we got our food).
They do need to clean this place up though. Really! For as much as you pay, I expect better. I mean, there were fruit flies flying around. Kinda gross. Also, fake flowers on the windows. Seriously, they ought to have real flowers or at least live plants. A small bud vase with a stem of carnations on the table wouldn't hurt either.
It's worth experiencing once. Recommend calling ahead for reservations to get the time you want, esp on busy holiday weekends. -
Review from Kay H.
Why are we saying this is in New York? First of all it's in Canada. Second, it's Skylon, not Skylan.
Based on the food and service, I would have given the tower 1 star, but since it's sort of fun revolving slowly around, I give it a 2. Skylon Tower really isn't anything impressive though. I've never spoken to anyone who actually cared for it. It's way too expensive for what you get also.
If you do plan on going, here's a tip for you:
Don't leave your purse/hat/anything of value next to the window. If you do, you probably won't see it for a while since you're spinning and that part is not. -
Review from Dan K.
We loved going up in the top for a good photos of the Falls and the surrounding area. We also ate in the revolving restaurant....the servers were friendly, but seemed rushed. We also had four different servers during out meal, which was very odd.
The food was good, but way overpriced. You go for the view, that's for sure. -

The Skylon Tower is one of the greatest rip-offs since Digimon blatantly
copied Pokemon (although I realize that the Tower predates both of these
things, in fact predates the births of the fans of these shows, the
point still stands). For those of you who don't know the name Skylon
Tower just imagine a crappier, shorter CN Tower and you've got it. The
tower costs 12 bucks to get in and that is money that you are never
going to get back. The top is a large circle where you can see the
falls and the *ahem* beautiful town of Niagara Falls. The whole thing
stinks of tourist trap and is definitely not worth your money. The view
is nice but not nice enough and the tower is such a disappointment that
it will leave a bitter taste in your mouth (and that's not the water).
I don't recommend this money pit because you can see the falls for free
and then you don't have to feel like you've been ripped off.

My first meal in Canada in the province of Ontario. The food was mediocre but the view was simply breathtaking. I am giving it 3 stars because of the view and the 360 experience. My steak that I ordered was dry and the ice cream dessert was melting.
The waitress actually spilled salad all over my lap and didn't apologize. I was wearing shorts so I was drenched in Italian dressing was upset at the time but I'm completely over it. She came back later and apologize so no biggie. -

3 stars for the amazing view. However, the food was expensive and disappointing, and the service was slow. I had a pasta dish ($40) and my friend had the lamb ($55). After a few bites of both dishes we decided to just enjoy the view and get something to eat elsewhere. The food did not seem fresh and tasted like frozen dinners that had been heated up in a microwave.

I loved the view at the top...
It was really windy when I went and it made the experience more fun :p You're fighting against the wind, trying to stand up still to take pictures, and all you can do is laugh and enjoy it.
I liked this even better than the CN Tower. Even though you don't have the glass floor here, you get to feel how high up you are and you get an even more beautiful view here. Also, on a clear day you can see the CN Tower from here.
Definitely another must do when visiting the Niagara Falls. Remember to bring your camera, you will want to remember this view. -

My boyfriend and I vacationed in Niagara Falls, Canada, for our 2 year anniversary. We received as a gift a dinner at Skylon Tower.
We went in November, so it was freezing! But it was also nice because the sun set rather early. For the first 15 minutes we were there, the sun was still up. But before we even got our meal, dusk settled in, and it was a truly beautiful view to see the sun set from our lofty, spinning tower, and view the lights come on over the Falls. To be perfectly honest though, I don't remember a whole lot about the food. I had beef medallions & some type of potato. I know I enjoyed it, but it didn't stand out. The chocolate mousse dessert was quite tasty though. For almost $100 with no beverage, it was a fun experience, but not something I'd do again. I'm vegan now anyway so I probably couldn't. -
Review from Anele S.
I did this as a kid and wanted to visit the area. Wasn't really planning on going up but the hubby wanted to and I was too tired to put up a fight about paying for yet another overpriced attraction. So we found a coupon $4 off total and it was $24 just to go up. *Biting lip* Sadly if you're looking for the barrel over the falls you remembered as a kid in the 70's-90's, you're not going to find it here. Instead, they throw you in front of a lame green screen and tell you to pick up your pics on your way down.
The view IS amazing. It was really windy and hardly anyone up there so we were able to take as many pics as we wanted without many distractions except for a LOUD kid and a small group. We were up there for about 15-20 minutes and came down. As we approached the picture booth, a lady starts bringing up our computer generated photos, moves our bodies into a triple wide barrel out of scale with the falls and I look at the Mr like "seriously?" She says 2 for $20. Um no but I can tell he really wants the barrel pic. "What about 1 for $10?" "So sorry, it's a package only." Thankfully no sharp objects were around as I waved the white flag and mentally checked out. He got it of course and they look awful so $24 later again and we're $50 in the hole for seeing the falls from the same view we have from the restaurant at the top of our hotel. So yeah, decide based on that info if it's worth it to you or not based on your budget. If your hotel has a restaurant on top, go there, request a window seat and get the same view.
