Richmond Hill, ON
A very good and affordable hotel for families. Mid-week waterpark package was $129+tax + parking, and it included admission to the waterpark for 4 people for 2 days (2nd day until 3pm, but no one makes you leave the waterpark, you are just unable to get in after 3pm).
The rooms are oldish, but clean. They have 5 people occupancy, which is nice for those of us with 3 children. And apparently they now have rooms with bunk beds, again, great for those with 3 kids who are older.
The service was very good. The hotel is 2 or 3 stories high, and behind other hotels and a high parking deck with the waterpark on the top. DO NOT EXPECT FALLS VIEWS.
Connected to the Fallsview waterpark by a skywalk (great in winter as there's no need to go outside).
Cheap parking for Niagara Falls ($9/night - this means the day you arrive, and the next day too, if you're staying for 1 night only).
Close enough to Clifton Hill (which may or may not be a plus, but is not bad for kids), but far enough to be quiet.
They have indoor courtyards, which, again, are amazing in cold weather, as the kiddos have a place to run around without having to get their snowsuits on.
They have family movie night(s). Thursday night they set up a movie in Courtyard 2, with free popcorn for everyone. The kids were all outside in their PJs, with blankets and pillows on the floor. Very nice.
For those who enjoy casinos, Casino Niagara (the older casino in Niagara Falls) is just across a small road, so one parent can stay with the kids, and the other can go play.
The Falls themselves are about a mile away. Walkable, but this is definitely not the closest hotel.
I would definitely recommend this for those who are looking for a get away, especially involving the waterpark and especially during the off-season. -

doesn't look as clean as it actually is. There are tons of kids running around. We got one room with two queen beds for last Saturday night and i didn't know what a hot spot Niagara Falls is for young people. Besides from families who want to stay here because it has a direct tunnel to the waterpark for their kids, young men from Buffalo come over her for their parties and other debaucheries since the drinking age in Canada is 19 vs. the State's 21... so young guys at the age of 19-20 will rent rooms and drink up before they go party it up in the town clubs... then they come back drunk around 4am.. i heard them a bit but they weren't loud enough to piss me off... so i was fine with it. Who woulda known...? oh, and this place is a 5 min walk from the falls but 10 mins walk to the Hilton Casino and Hotel and Buffet (which we ate at, pretty good for Canada)

Niagara Falls, ON
The hotel was in a great location and was clean and nice (not over the top, but served it's purpose). I was traveling alone with two young children and they let us check in at 12:30pm which was great after a long drive. The prices were very resonable and it was walking distance to everything - maid of the mist, the indoor water park, tons of restaurants, the falls, etc. For an extra $10 we were able to get free breakfast for the children at the Sheraton (overlooking the falls) as long as you paid for 1-2 adult breakfasts + it gave us tickets so some rides/put-put in the nearby adventure land. The kids loved the view while we were eating breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

I thought it was a really nice place at a perfect location near all the attractions but far enough to avoid the hustle and bustle of tourist area. The hotel was across a parking lot to the nearest casino, close to souvenir shops and just a short walk to Niagara Falls. The room we stayed in faced the courtyard which is decorated to seem like you are outdoors but it is actually indoors. So it'll appear like a beautiful day even if you are visiting in the winter. There was plenty of space in the rooms for all four of us. I would stay here again because it was so close to Niagara Falls but far enough for you to be able to explore the area.

This hotel is within walking distance to the fall but it doesn't have any fall views from the rooms. The reception asked us if we wanted to spend $20 more to upgrade to a "forward" view room, which I assume faces the parking lot and the casino. I'm glad we said no because courtyard facing rooms are nice and quiet because of their quiet policy after 11pm. Other than the fire alarm that went off at midnight, this hotel is not too bad. I won't mind staying here again.

Nice place. It's right over the USA-Canada border, and a short walk over to the falls. Our room faced the (indoor) courtyard. We were there for the Jim Brickman World Voices concert over at the casino last June. We only stayed one night, and split the cost among 3 people, and It was about $40 each. I thought that was pretty reasonable considering how expensive everything else in the area was.
