I've never been to a facial before and when groupon featured Skoah I thought to myself "why not?".

The receptionist was very friendly and the aesthetician was very nice as well. It was relaxing and getting pampered felt awesome (being a mother to a toddler getting me time is hard to get).

Afterwards, aesthetician told me about their products and what she used. I know this is a gimmick to push their products but I bought their products anyways. I bought their AHA mask and honeydew mask. They are pricey but I really liked how my skin felt after the facial. I was worried that I was going to get breakouts after the facial but that wasn't the case. (I've heard of people's first facial experiences and how they had horrible breakouts).

I won't be able to get facials every month but I will definitely treat myself every few months.

As always, I found this place on Yelp with good reviews so I thought I'd visit. It was awesome. My facial came with a massage which was so relaxing it's as if I was sleeping on a could. The facialist was very friendly and gentle.
Afterwards I bought a set of their products for my oily skin. I have a bunch of expensive products from Holt Renfrew and Sephora, but none of them work. I get pimples from my oily skin no matter what I put on and  they also began to scar, so I tossed them out and made room for Skoah products.
The day after my facial my skin began to itch. I was so disappointed I thought of returning all the products I purchased, but I thought to give it a few days. It was a good thing I did because the following week my face felt and looked amazing. It was less oily and the zits lessened. The kick it kream is great for pimples, no joke. My skin looks a lot better than it did before. I recommend that you give it a try especially if you have skin problems.
They've increased the price of the facials which I already think is expensive but they do have specials on their website. And I do think their products are reasonably priced, fresh (doesn't feel like they've been sitting on their shelves for years), and are in good sized bottles.

It's been 9 days since my facial and I have to say my skin has never looked better. I am so thankful! Rarely have I had a "life changing" facial but this one has given me clear skin that is well hydrated (vs dry previously oily skin of other product).

Tried out at South Granville location during first week of opening. It was very very small, including the facial room- hard to find space to put away bag and clothings. Music was turned up to cover noise outside the room. Only one bathroom and is unisex- not a big fan. Facial was just ok this time. Location is convenient; however, I would prefer other locations. Bought annual skin gym membership, I think it's a steal.

I have not been a fan of some facials that I have gotten in the past as I just didn't think I recieved a great value.  Well Skoah has a price point for everyone AND their packages provide amazing value. I even got a membership as I was such a fan... they showed me their products which have been so great that my husband even has started to use them. I highly recommend.

I went in for a facial a few weeks ago and found the experience to be good, not awesome, just good.  The person doing my facial had only been there a week and I was impressed that it wasn't obvious, until the end.  WOW, do they try to sell products and the higher the price the better.  I purchased a couple, not the over the top serum she recommended and a week later my skin felt dried out and tight.  Upon going back to the spa for an exchange, I found the woman helping me to be beyond pushy as far as products.  With a remaining balance, she slyly stated would you like the remaining balance on a gift card?  Was not an option to have the amount refunded, or at least that is how she acted.  I am not against up selling and increasing a sale, but they need training on how to not make it so obvious to the point of being rude.  Definitely won't go back again...

Skoah is my favorite facial spa. They take really great care of your skin, make recommendations on future skin care, and all the products they use and have for sale are made in house.
I would definety recommend this place if you are considering a facial, they also have a couples facial room!

So I was a bit skeptical about the whole facial treatment at Skoah, but since I bought a Groupon, as a b-day treat, I justified to myself, why not? I was quite impressed with their attentive, customized service, very relaxing ambience and a feel-like-a-million bucks facial.

I ended up purchasing their AHA mask, and hydradew mask.  My skin is like buttery soft! and no redness (I have sensitive skin) I tell you, the exfoliation (AHA) works wonders! I have now drunk the Skoah kool-aid - ack! And if you're not happy with the results you can get a full refund or exchange withing 60 days for their products.  That is truly an unbeatable policy!

They're a little pricey for a monthly treatment, but for a once in a while treat for yourself, it's FABULOUS!

So I've been to skoah twice now.
    I love them :)

The first time was was absolutely wonderful. Amanda gave me a great facial and was very informative.
The second time was a bit different. I was late, stressed out, and became frustrated when I found out, to switch from one facial to another, I needed to give twenty-four hours notice.
In the end, we worked it out, and I had another perfect facial. They were all very friendly and courteous and never made me feel bad for being a bit of a pain :)

I recommend skoah to anyone who wants a great experience. Also, their  products are wonderful and are backed by an amazing guarantee.

    Thanks skoah :)

Oh, Skoah. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways...

I had my first facial at Skoah last summer. It was the facialiscious, and boy was it amazing. It was 75 minutes of pure bliss, and my skin looked incredible at the end. My technician was down to earth and personable, and I liked how she never tried to push the products on me. Mind you, she didn't need to -I bought them of my own accord.

I love how un-fussy the decor is, with the minimalist design and the exposed pipes and beams. Very Scandanavian. I also love their "no whale-music" policy.

This is easily the best place to get a facial in Vancouver. Not to mention, it's a Vancouver-based business. Now THAT's gotta make you feel good.

    Skoah is amazing!

My first ever facial was NOT at Skoah, and it was awful.  So it took me a few years to work up the courage to get another one, and I figured Skoah would be the place to do it.  Boy was I right!  The experiences were like night and day.

Skoah has a no nonsense feel while also being super relaxing.  My skin looked and felt fantastic afterwards, and I got lots of useful tips for how to maintain my skin at home.  I got the Facialicious, and it was sublime.  I didn't realize it, but it also includes leg, foot, AND scalp massage.

    But here's the kicker:
I ended up buying their AHA mask exfoliant, and after using it at home I realised my skin has a sensitivity to it.  Unfortunately this was a full month after I bought it, so I wasn't hopeful...but since it wasn't cheap, I phoned to ask them about it anyway.  And guess what?  They said anytime within 60 days I can return it no questions asked.  Now THAT's service!  I'll be exchanging it for something else that works for me, and I will DEFINITELY be going back for another facial sometime.  Thanks, Skoah!

Just had my first skoah facial and it was pretty delightful!

I would go back again... however I wasn't a fan of being sold onto their products constantly. Throughout the entire facial you could tell everything they were saying was a big lead up to buy their stuff - which makes a bit of sense because they all use their own skoah brand of skincare, but in the end .took a bit away from the whole experience for me.

My facial was nice and relaxing.  The technician seemed to know what she was talking about and their products do seem pretty nice. I liked that they followed up with my after my appointment.  However, when I was getting my facial, I didn't feel like it was customized to my skin type since she didn't really tell me how my skin was and why she was using certain masks etc. specifically for my skin.  I think if I didn't read some of the reviews here though, I wouldn't have really noticed this.

What I'm really taking two stars off for is 1) the room I was in, you could see the pipes on the ceiling exposed as I was facing it.  That really takes away from a relaxing environment/ambience since I prefer to feel like I'm being carried away from real life to some dream world during that hour.  And 2) during most of my treatment, I could hear the girls outside (who work there) chattering and laughing etc. and that was ultimately so distracting. I really had a hard time relaxing and not focusing on that.   I mean, if clients are spending $100 per visit, I just think that it's important for a business to have these things in order.

And then, I had my first facial in a long time... yes, the Facialicious. I knew it was good when I woke up during the facial massage... hope I wasn't drooling. Not only does it come with all the stuff you expect, but you also get a full leg and foot, arm and hand + scalp massage (although the scalp massage could have been 5 times as long). Between exfoliation, a couple of masks and an awesome facial massage, I was glowing... inside and out.

The price might be a little steep ($100), but I thought it was worth it. You get a little body moisturizer to take home, and if you book another appointment they'll give you $20 off product purchases. And yes, I confess, I bought more. I'll be back for another "workout" for my face as soon as financially possible!

The reception was friendly, and the aesthetician who gave me a facial clearly loves what she does. However, I was concerned during the treatment about the ingredients of their products (while waiting for my facial, I began reading the ingredient lists of some of their products that were only display). I avoid putting anything on my skin that has synthetics--I use only organic cosmetics and moisturizers, and I am very much opposed to the idea of putting chemicals on our skin. It's an awful industry, and I'm skeptical of places that market themselves as offering "natural" beauty lines, when in fact their products are filled with synthetics and petroleum-based ingredients. I went through the facial with some worry about what was in their products--but the treatment was relaxing.

I give this low rating because the salon followed up with me a few days ago--by email--asking about my Skoah experience. I immediately responded by asking if any of the products used on me have artificial fragrances (I thought I could smell fragrance in some of the products that were put on my skin). No one bothered to write back. This is poor customer service because 1) I raised a concern that deserved an honest response and full disclosure 2) Skoah took liberty to contact me through my email address; what is the point of this follow-up if my response is ignored? Please don't use my email address if you do not intend to deliver on the purpose behind contacting me.

For the price of their products, I will definitely opt instead for the organic, 100% natural alternative like the products sold by places like http://saffronrouge.com. I'm not sold on their concept.

I have been to Skoah in Yaletown a couple times and have really enjoyed both experiences. Skoah is a very modern spa and has a bit of a clinical feel to it. To me it feels very clean and pristine which is a good thing when you have to fully undress and slip into the sheets! One thing I loved was the downy comforter they wrap you in before the facial begins. This is especially great on a dreary, rainy Vancouver day!

The products they use for their facial are the Skoah house line all of which smell divine. Staff is very friendly and down to earth. They also have a good customer retention program which allows for discounts when multiple facial are purchased upfront. I am also on their mailing list and have received quite a few special offers for facials. Smart marketers those Skoah people are!

Would highly recommend Skoah for those that have never had a facial, and those that always have facials at a typical spa.  Skoah specializes in just facials and use all their own products.  The ingredients are natural and made locally here in Vancouver.

The spa is very calm and crisp feeling.  They play great music, not babbling brooks....

I hit Skoah every 4-6 weeks for a workout - I would consider myself a regular. I can now tell when my skin needs a pick me up!  I often have the Facialicisious, which is perfect for your first time - a little more expensive, but really worth it - it feels like you are being pampered forever.  My second favorite is the Power Hour, my more regular facial.

I use many of their products, which of course they try to upsell, but not overly so.  Their masks (aha and klearity) and turbo tonik toner are your best bets.  Lisa is my facial regular and she is really fantastic - She always remembers details about me and chats the perfect amount of time.

    My favourite spa in Vancouver!

Right when you come in, everything looks clean and the receptionists are friendly. They check you in and get you a bottle of water.

The rooms have big squishy bed-like things to lie down on, with cozy duvets to keep you warm. They even leave you a little thing of lip balm on your pillow!

The estheticians are always sweet, and really listen to what you say about your skin. They cater the facial to what you want. The music is nice, and they keep the lights really low which I appreciate - helps you relax!

After the facial, they give you a little card telling you what products they used and recommend for you, and do a little pitch in case you want to buy some. They aren't too pushy, but the products are great, so definitely worth it! I love the Kalm Down mask and the Turbo toners. Also, they'll often give you free samples to take home.

I just had my second Facial at Skoah (Facialiscious) and it was just as good as my first one (Xtreme Facial). From the moment you walk in the door, you're treated warmly and professionally.

I'm not sure what I love best about the experience:
-Comfy douvet to lie under and a heated blanket to keep my toasty
    -Soothing music, nothing Enya-like
-Great smelling products that feel great.
-Relaxing massage (leg, hands, arms AND scalp)

All in all, an experience I recommend for anyone. They make great presents (I received both my facials as gifts). I just wish I could go more often, but it's a bit pricey.  Both facials I mentioned above are $100, although there are cheaper options available.

I've never had a massage that I haven't liked so I can't write about the 3 massages  I've had there because they were both relaxing and I think I fell asleep for one of them.

Facials were ok.  I go somewhere else in Vancouver for my facials because I felt my esthetician at the other spa really understood my skin more.

But the 4 stars are for the products.  I'm a product ahem.... whore, where I've said it.  My closets are filled with department store and mystery creams from my travels in my search for the stuff that works.

I love love love the quality natural ingredients that they put into their products and I'm sensitive to fragrances but their line is just right.  Sweet love which is a mix of cinnamon and vanilla is lite and sweet.  Just right!  Thank you Skoah

I get a bit nervous about facials but decided to try Skoah because their website seemed unpretentious and I saw a groupon for it months ago. The staff was super friendly but not fake or snobby. You get put under a warm blanket and from beginning to end you are in heaven. I got the facialicious facial amd they massaged my hands, legs, and feet too. The esthetician was really nice and down to earth and didn't pressure me to buy stuff even though I did feel guilty and bough their Aha mask. The products are reasonably priced and smell really good.

I went to Skoah a few days after my grandma passed away... I had a few hours to spare and thought I should do something that would lift my spirits. It was my first time an I met Summer... she was awesome! Skoah is full of professionals who love what they do. They don't pressure you to buy their products and give you plenty of samples even before you decide to purchase. One of the gifts they had given me was a bottle of "Konditioner" and could easily be used 3-4 times. They left this cute bottle on my pillow just before my service.

I had the facialicious and enjoyed about 1 and a half hours of pampering. On top of the multiple masks I also received a foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder and scalp massage!!! They don't specify that on the menu, because they want to keep the limelight on their facials. I have to say that both the facial and extra's were top notch.

After your visit, if you choose to book your next appointment right away, you would enjoy a loyalty treat of $20.00 towards your next visit's product. Their cleansing lotion is $25.00 and that would mean an almost free bottle every time.

I ended up buying the AHA Mask and the Cleansing Lotion and LOVE it. I also booked my next appointment and will be bringing my mom. Out of all the facials I've been to, Skoah has made me a loyal client.

The Facialicious facial is AMAZING.  This is hands down the best facial I've ever had (better than the ritz, the st.regis, or the Bacara!!)!  This is steal at $100 for the 75 min treatment.  I actually was lured in with a Groupon and it was worth every penny.  The music wasn't hokey, nice dark lighting, the table was heated (major plus) and comfy, surrounding area was quiet, and the products all smelled yummy.  The shoulder, arms, and legs massage is also AMAZING.  Who knew that there are points on your palms that can be massaged. The tension in my shoulders literally melted away. I had a disappointing massage earlier in the day (@ BeFresh) and Skoah more than made up for it.  My technician's name is Erin and I highly recommend her!
My skin felt so soft and was glowing afterwards.  I didn't need to be convinced to buy their products.  I bought the Skin Boost Serum and the Hydradew mask.  They also threw in some extra samples of the moisterizer and AHA mask from my treatment.
I'm sad that I am moving back to the states this month and just now discovered this hidden gem in Vancouver.

I went to Skoah witha Groupon for a Fascialicious and got even more than I expected. The room was warm, with low lights, soft lounge music and the bed had a heated duvet. The facial included a neck, arms, hands, legs and feet massage. Dayana (fabulous!) applied three different masks after making a skin-type assessment. It was a full hour of pure bliss. My face might still be glowing from yesterday bday treat to myself (if you sign up to get online promos they give you $25 off for your bday). I like to differentiate from the traditional "spa" setting like Spa Uopia where you feel like you've escaped for the day and places like Skoah where you go for a good facial without as many of the frills. Its a modern, clean friendly environment where their focus on maintaining healthy skin. I got the ""power hour" facial and still wonder why they call it that if its only 45 minutes long, but I enjoyed every minute of it! For a slightly cheaper option, I might consider going to Optaderm where you get the full hour service, but for variety and yummy smelling locally made products Skoah is a treat.

While I haven't been able to come in for a facial, I have been using their line of face products for the last four months. I bought their Oil Slik kit, which got me four products: foam cleanser, turbo tonik toner, AHA mask, and face skotion lite. The staff at the Yaletown location were friendly and helpful and were very nice and honest about how each product worked for them and their skin.

I still have about 1/3 of the bottles left for the cleanser and toner, about 3/4 of the mask, but ran out of the lotion after about 3 months. It would be nice for everything to be portioned at the right pace but I'm not complaining! These products are great and have been worth every penny!

I've been to Skoah several times and just recently went because I saw their offer on Groupon and happened to be in Vancouver on a visit. I like their facials a lot and with the Groupon coupon, there was no hesitation since it was a Facialicious facial + a gift for $65 or something. I got a sample body lotion and a full sized sunblock which is perfect because I was headed back to sunny California. My face has been undergoing a lot of changes due to my life and I was in desperate need of some loving. I didn't buy any product to go home because I had limited luggage space They do offer free shipping if you spend more than $80 or something. I don't get facials as often as I should, maybe every 3-4 months but when in Vancouver this is my go to spot.

I am a very low maintenance girl, but as I age I start to think about my face a little more.  So I've decided to go have a facial at Skoah and had the Facialicious treatment.  The technician's name I had was Lisa.  She was very gentle and informed me of the mask and the key ingredients in each item that was put on my face.

The room was spacious and relaxing.  The beds have a heat pad underneath which keeps you nice and toasty.

I love it, but at the same time I don't have a lot of money.  The facial is $100 per visit and last about 1 hr.  A little steep for someone like me.  For budget concious people like myself though, they have a facial pass that you can buy which can get you savings.

I tried this place for the first time a few weekends ago, it was great. I liked that it didn't have spa waterfalls everywhere - and no Enya! I opted for the Extreme Facial, which has extras like a leg, foot and scalp massage.

My facialist was super nice and sweet, and let me relax after a basic intro. I've had a few chatty facialists in my time and it is awkward - do I say something, do I just ignore them? I liked that she told me each thing as she did it though.

I also didn't feel pressured to buy the products, but she listed things that would be good for my skin type and let me know what she used. I loved the products, especially the redness mask, and while everything smelled amazing, it didn't feel perfumey or heavy, and my skin looked great afterwards. As a finishing touch, she asked me if I wanted some makeup, which I thought was nice, although I turned it down as I was just heading home. I have rebooked my second appointment and can see myself becoming a regular here.

A beautiful, relaxing spa in Yaletown that specializes in skincare. The girl who did my Facialicious was extremely helpful and had tons of great tips for working skincare into my daily routine. I bought the cream based cleanser for my dry skin and I love the way it feels. Considering you get a lower leg, arm and mini-shoulder massage, not to mention the amazing facial, at $100 for an hour and a half the Facialicious was a well worth it. And man, she went to town on extractions. I couldn't be happier

I recently had my first experience at Skoah after receiving a gift certificate for a complimentary sweet skin facial ($35) in a swag bag. The promo also had an option to upgrade and use the $35 towards another facial, which - gladly - I did for the "Facialiscious" treatment ($100).

To say the 60 minute facial was heaven on earth would be an understatement. All of the masks felt great, and, in addition, the neck, shoulder, scalp, arm, leg and foot massage were the icing on the cake. My skin looked fantastic afterwards!

The only complaint I'd have is the massage was a bit too hard, but I voiced it about midway and she adjusted...though, it was still a bit hard around the chest area. In addition, she was unable to get all of my blackheads out because there were quite a few layers of dead skin. These were minor issues, though - I plan on being more specific about the massage before my second facial and I wasn't cleansing properly pre-facial, so it's not really her fault for being unable to get the blackheads out.

I purchased a few of their products afterwards, which I'm liking so far: the "kleanser", hydradew mask, face skotion, and toner. In short, they've resolved my dry skin problem. I like that the products are plant based and natural. They also gave me the sweet skin body lotion and invigor-mint shampu (as a side note, I'm surprised they'd be endorsing mint shampoo in Yaletown where most people color their hair - it's a well known fact that mint strips hair dye/streaks. I like the product but I'd be weary of using it beyond the sample because of my streaks..).

All in all, for an above and beyond facial experience, I'd recommend Skoah!

Surviving Mondays are easier because of a good pep talk. Pep Talk peppermint shower gel that is and Skoah makes it.  The spa very famous for it's facialiscious facials which include an hour foot and neck massage and skin analysis.  But they also make aromatherapy style skin and beauty products and have a great line of make-up. The local company uses only natural ingredients and really takes care of the customer when they arrive.  I love the fact that every facial includes a skin mapping analysis, exfoliation, massage and a customized mask.  The entire lay-out and colour of the spa is very cool as well.  It's all cool blues and whites. And how can I forget the pink bubble gum that you can help yourself to at the end?

I LOVED IT! I got the Groupon (like so many ppl) and showed up with my sister at 5PM on Saturday. The moment I walked in the girl at the counter greeted us and sat us down and offered us a cup of water. The decor is modern, clean and no wishy washy. I shook hands with my facial-person, (forgot her name sorry) and we headed to the room with cozy beds and warm low lighting. The whole experience was so relaxing and calming. I really liked the smell of each product, sometimes it changed with different products but they are not too strong.  I really liked the arm&leg massage and the scalp massage at the end almost got be into REM sleep... haha, I opened my eyes and was like "who are you..??..??" We got a bottle of body wash each as part of the coupon deal and they smell nice! I liked their hydro something jel but since I got a plenty of facial products at home I decided to pass. I would love to come back if I can fork $100+bill again! :)

Their products are wonderful, I have continued to order them 4 years after having been there.  Sweet Love Body Kream, Body Skrub and lip dip are a must try.  When we went there, they did more than just facials, and I had a two hour scrub and massage that left my skin never feeling better!!
