Had seen the signs for Skinny Joe's outside the Monarch for a while as I was eating a sandwich across the street at Bitondo's and wondered what it was like up in that dreary looking place.
Caplansky's used to be here before they moved up on to College. So there's some meaty history here.
They've got 4 sandwiches:
Smoked Meat - $7
Corned Beef - $7
Hamburger - $6
Cheeseburger - $7
Also on the menu are fresh cut fries and coleslaw.

This place is a gem. It's the kind of bar I want to hang out with friends in (and eat sandwiches). I had the Smoked Meat on white rye and fries ($2 tax in) which came with a pickle. Best smoked meat I've had in the city - the only issue was the 8oz before cooking although satisfying still leaves more to be desired if you're a big eater. I want a Montreal sized sandwich option on the board.
Fries were GD excellent.
I'll be back.
