I can't say enough about Liza! She is highly intelligent and skilled in all that she does. I really value her insight and trust her completely with all areas of my facial care regimen. Not only is she caring and nurturing but she is honest about what I need and she doesn't try to push unnecessary products and procedures my way. I really appreciate that. Since I've been seeing Liza (about 18 months now) she has helped me turn around my skin. I look and feel younger and I often go without makeup! I get compliments on my skin that I had never dreamed of receiving.
Liza is also very generous and kind. When I go visit her for my face, she always examines some scars I have in other areas and treats them at the same time. I really appreciate her going above and beyond. She does this because she cares about her clients and she loves her job. She has a genuine passion for all she does and that shows in her work.
Liza, thank you for being so great! I will continue to make the trek into the City from the East Bay because you are my skin-gal! I do have to thank you for your convenient location as well. I can easily hop on a BART train or combine a visit with some Union Square Shopping and leave a happy camper! -

I was referred over to Liza at SkinLab from a friend while I was visiting SF. First of all, being a guy I had never had any "skin-care" and wasn't too up on having someone do stuff to my face. My friend however ordered me to DO IT and I can't say enough how pleasant and enlightening the experience was. Liza understood all of my fears and explained the why and what. I left feeling refreshed, renewed and have a whole new take on skin care -- especially what I've been missing. Not only that, she gave me amazing take home advice that's both easy and effective. My complexion had a visible improvement after day one and her tips/homework made it even better.
If you want a warm and friendly "skinoligist" who will take her time and do what's right for your face then SkinLab is the place. I only wish I lived closer, I'd be here monthly. Every trip to SF will no doubt include a visit to SkinLab.
I rarely give 5's -- even to my favorite places, but SkinLab is truly deserving.

Skin Lab is located right near Union Square and is a hop skip and a jump from either the O'Farrel/Ellis Garage or the Stockton Garage (cheaper for the area).
I have been getting facials from Liza for almost two years and cannot be ecstatic enough about how my skin looks and feels (not to mention complements out of the blue from strangers). I will be forever indebted to her, and I am so glad that she showed me the way (as I had never had a facial with glycolic and extractions before seeing her). I am fortunate to have minimal skin problems; however I know that Liza has prevented me from some minor past (and future) freakouts since I am at the age where instead of preventative care, I would be signing up for treatment for damaged and aged skin (I am about to be 3-0).
Liza is a fabulous esthetician and has trained me to care for my skin, and has never pushed any products or procedures on me, and instead is an amazing support for when I do have questions. She not only knows the causal and effectual about the skin and the plethora of skincare issues and problems that can arise, she is also extremely educated in both the anatomical and physiological side of things, thus having a perfect balance with what works and why certain things are more effective (than others).
I notice a huge difference in my skin when I adhere to a monthly schedule with her and I sometimes can't get enough! I am hoping this skin just may last forever....and it may with Liza! -

Liza Pielsticker, the owner of Skin Lab, is an amazing, knowledgeable, skin care pro! I received a very thorough microdermabrasion from her last Friday. From start to finish the experience was great. She is friendly, very passionate about what she does, and down to earth. I really enjoyed speaking with her-she has travelled and lived a lot! Another bonus-she has the science background, in addition to her esthetician license/education, to back up her expertise in skin care. I'm going for a Jessner peel next week, and I can't wait!
Another bonus-her office is in a great location (by Union Sq.)!! -

So, it can be a scary thing to just select an esthetician randomly and hope for the best. It's your face! I've always had unruly skin and have hopped from dermatologist to dermatologist for years looking for someone to help me.
Liza came highly recommended and I will be forever grateful. I've been seeing her monthly for over a year now and she has done the impossible...she has tamed my angry skin and imparted precious bits of wisdom to help keep me looking young & fresh.
A huge bonus is her medical and science background and knowledge, which has helped me to put complete trust in her. That, and the RESULTS. She worked with me until we got it right...and now it's all smooth sailing and maintenance.
The Union Square location is great. If you drive, there are two parking lots very close. If you don't want to drive, Powell St BART is one block away. Super convenient. -

Liza at SkinLab is a fantastic esthetician with a passion for helping you look your best! It's rare to find someone who is as knowledgable, professional and really cares about how you feel in your skin.
I've had quite a few sessions, including thorough extractions and relaxing facials. While I was initially intimidated I could tell that the regime she prescribed was customized to fit my lifestyle and goals. During the consultation, Liza clearly explains the processes she is taking you through, answers questions, and ensures you understand what you need to do to keep looking great! I would highly recommend SkinLab to anyone looking for expert attention to their skin! -

All the reviews about Liza are true. She has a biochemistry background and truly understands the science behind the services and products she offers. I have been seeing her for monthly microderm/facials and occasional peels for about 18 months, and she has been a godsend. I suffered from very painful cystic acne for years and finally turned to Liza when my regular dermatologist recommended accutane (yikes!). Within 2-3 months of working with Liza, my skin was showing significant improvement. Now, people don't believe I ever had skin issues. I don't waste time covering blemishes. In fact, my skin is so clear and even I often go without makeup - not bad for my 40's! I'll never go anywhere else.

I've had severe cystic acne since my early teens. Four courses of Accutane over the past 20 years, endless kenalog injections on face and back, and after much physical and emotional pain, an angel bestowing miracles entered my life. Liza is truly the most talented and intelligent clinician, as she is the one and only person that has helped resolve my skin problems. I am blessed to met her. Liza is simply AMAZING!!!

I have been getting monthly facials from Liza consistently for the past three years. I started seeing her when I was 31 and now I'm 34, but my skin looks and feels as if it's only 25! I get compliments all the time and I can't thank Liza enough for making me feel and look beautiful.
I started noticing in my thirties that my skin was rough, dull, and wasn't taking moisture like it used to. I also started obsessively noticing wrinkles on my temple, forehead, and around the eye/crows feet area. I looked up expensive botox treatments online but wasn't ready to commit to the price, the upkeep, or to the whole noninvasive plastic surgery thing. It was at this time that a friend of mine referred me to Liza at SkinLab and now I'm a regular customer.
For the first two years, I got monthly Glycolic Advanced Exfoliation Facials. I could immediately tell that my skin tone became more even, my wrinkles were less defined, and my sun damage spots disappeared. Now I'm getting monthly Microdermabrasion Facials and it has significantly minimized my fine lines and wrinkles especially in my brow and forehead area.
On a side note, I have very sensitive skin and thought that my face might breakout or scar from monthly facials. However, this was not the case at all! Liza uses products that do not irritate my sensitive skin. While I may be a little red for a couple of hours immediately after a facial, the next morning my face radiates nothing but fresh healthy looking skin.
Other things I love...
Liza's online appointment booking system is super easy and I can book, change, or reschedule an appointment 24/7 online.
Her new location on Geary @ the corner of Stockton is just a 5 minute walk from the Sutter/Stockton garage or a 5 minute walk from the Powell Street station. -

I have been seeing Liza for my facials for almost a year now and my skin has never looked better. I used to think of facials as this "once a year" special treat thing. Now I am always looking forward to my next appointment. She is super friendly and she gives me tons of advice on what to do between appointments.
Her new space on Union Square is really convenient to go right after work. It's right across the street from Neiman Marcus. Perfect! -

Liza is an amazing Esthetician, she takes the time to get to know you and asks all the right questions , she knows her stuff quite well. I started going to see Liza about a year ago after I had noticed I was developing some weird spots and dark circles under my eyes, Pigmentation due to too much Sun exposure and not enough sunblock, I had gone to see dermatologists, skin specialist desperate for some help but noone could figure it out or do the right treatment. After one consultation Liza took me under her wing and got me on the right path educating me advising me on what products to use and immediatelly got me on the right treatments and regimens, I even did one complete chemical peel which helped alot, Now I go see Liza on a regular basis for facials and love it, my skin has ever since gotten so much better and clearer, the dark spots under my eyes are gone! Definitely recommend her services, which are very in depth and better than at any other SPA out there + all services are very affordable!

I had heard a lot of buzz about Liza having the best microdermabrasion in town, and went in to experience it for myself. Since seeing Liza, my skin has never had such an amazing texture or dewy glow. She has a also started my co-worker on a series of chemical peels, clearing up her occasional acne as well as the sun damage on her forehead after only a few treatments. People at the office literally tell us we look 10 years younger all the time. To say i recommend Liza is an understatement. Go see her, and as she says, "get on the program" today! You won't regret it!

Liza is the Special Forces in war for fantastic skin. My friends and I refer to her regimen as "The Program" . I have a serious pet peeve (bordering on OCD) about large pores and blackheads. Under Liza's care the pores on my nose have shrunk to be nearly invisible. And Liza practices what she preaches; take one look at her skin, and you'll know, she has skin figured out!

Liza Pielsticker is amazing!!! What a passionate woman! Not only a walking advertisement for skincare, as she is gorgeous, but also a nurturing, caring, loving influence in my life. The results I am seeing on my face, since I started coming to her a year ago, are substantial. Signs of aging and acne are disappearing due to regular facials and a variety of peels that she offers. I do a peel about every 6 months and a facial once a month. I CANNOT recommend the PEELS enough!!!! It is remarkable what a difference i see with crows feet, fine lines, and sun damage. It has changed my life! My skin is no longer a concern. I barely spend any time concealing anymore. When you feel better about how you look the positivity permeates your life. The regimen is not too extensive and she is always available for consulting, repeating steps, and advising on diet and anti aging vitamin supplements. ALL THIS and I only see her once a month! She offers very reasonable prices. Much less than a treatment through a Plastic Surgeon's office. The location of her office is very convenient as well. Easy to get to after work. It is located right in Union Square. If you have an itch to do something about your skin because you are having problems and don't know where to begin, she is the perfect person to start you down the road to recovery!!!
