My dog and I have an interesting relationship, maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm a cat person. He listens to me occasionally when treats are involved, and we wrestle and play otherwise. But he's HUGE now that he's grown up a bit (chocolate lab) and even though he is friendly, he is a menace. So we signed him up for doggie training classes. His behavior has improved noticeably a few weeks in, and right from the beginning he responded well to the classes. If your dog is still young, Sit Happens is a great place to find out how to assert your dominance and become the top dog in your dog's life so he'll finally stop eating your shoes.

I took one of my foster pups to one of their open play sessions for free through AARCS. It was a gong show to say the least, dominant puppies all over passive puppies, people reinforcing negative behaviors...felt like a crazy, overwhelming cash grab for anyone that was paying (I say that but I have no idea how much it costs for admission) based on the number of people and dogs allowed as well as lack of attention from the staff supervising. Would have liked to see staff coaching clients that were not supporting healthy behaviors. Their shop was pretty standard, not out of the box or amazing, looked like an after thought.
