OMG!! This is a sandwich! I usually frequent the location in Pickering but it isn't listed here for some reason. I first found out this place on a TV show called "Durham Dinning" and meant to check it out for a long time. I was in Oshawa one day and drove by it and remembered that it was on my bucket list. I went in and ordered the veal sandwich. As I spoke with the owner, he mentioned that they had just opened up a location in Pickering. I went to the Pickering location in less than a week and was not disappointed at all. I was also impressed with the hot table. Try the marinated olives for a special treat.

I've been in Oshawa for almost 3 years, and only recently tried Sinatras. I had watched a repeat of "Durham Dining" on TV and decided that the place was worth a try.
My husband and I swung by off of lunch hours, so it wasn't too busy as the lunch crowd had cleared out. The restaurant appearance inside and out is very no-frills and lacks ambience, but it is a clean. It did smell delicious though and definitely made you want to eat asap!
Hubby ordered the ratpack special sandwich - which is veal, cheese and eggplant. This sandwich is almost 9 dollars...plus, you have to pay EXTRA for toppings such as onions, mushrooms or peppers. His sandwich (no side dish or drink) cost just shy of $12 PLUS tax. It was a big sandwich, and the hubbz reports the veal and sauce as being very good - it's just too overpriced to visit regularly.
I had a meatball sandwich and ordered a green salad on the side. I ended up not eating the bread as I wasn't feeling it that day, I did eat the meatballs and they were tasty. My sandwich was also a couple of bucks cheaper then the veal.
The mixed greens were nice - a home made, very traditional basic salad. I think there were 2 or 3 choices of vinaigrette - I chose the raspberry. The salad was very fresh and crisp. I would definitely order it again.
They are lacking in other side dishes. There are no potato sides, or other veggie sides (there are olives I believe or a pasta salad). No french fries or soup here. There seemed to be a good choice of bottled drinks to choose from, including some Italian options.
Would we go again? Possibly, but I have many other things I'd rather eat for the same money. It's definitely worth trying though - give it a shot! -

OMG...OMG.. that is a BIG Sandwich!
Finally tried the veal sandwich and it was excellent. it is a pile of very tender veal with a crisp breading all on a large kaiser bun with tomato sauce.
I have to go back!Listed in: Five Fab Takeouts in Durham

Oshawa, ON
This is probably the best place to go in Oshawa for hot Italian sandwiches. Real nice size meatball, chicken, veal or eggplant sandwiches.... and the food itself is very tasty.
My 1 gripe is that there isn't many side dishes, so if your a guy like me that likes a side dish with your sandwich, like say fries .. That's not going to happen. My hope is that they add more side dishes in the future.
But If you simply want a good italian sandwich, then this place is 5 stars. -

Really big sandwich and the toppings and sauce were good.
My issues were with price and the veal it's self.
Price: around $10 for a veal with cheese, peppers and onions
Veal: the veal is sliced really thin and then breaded heavily to give appearance of heft but in fact it's really thin.
With all that said I'd suggest bakers table ... Veals may not be as large but the meat and sauce are much better
For those who want the best...venture into Toronto and visit California sandwiches ...the original though -

Absolutely the best veal sandwich I have ever had, anywhere. Sandwiches are huge!
