I've got nothing but praise for Silk Road. Their selection is amazing, with old favorites and seasonal special blends available in a range of sizes. Their staff are helpful without being pushy and the space is beautiful as well. I've never tried any of their spa treatments, but if it's anything close to the quality of the products they sell in the store front, it's bound to be fabulous!

I absolutely love this place. I am amazed that their tea hasn't made it across the pond to Vancouver. You walk into this place in the heart of chinatown and it's love and first breath and sight.
They make tea accessible and not scary and you walk out of there with some real jems. I just ran out and am already planning my trip back so i can get some more.

I drink coffee, and I don't follow the monarchy, so I'm not supposed to like tea right? Well, that's what I used to think until I was introduced to Silk Road by one of my friends from Victoria.

The selection of loose teas is fantastic, there's a flavour (is that the right term for tea?) for almost every discerning tea lover out there. Personally, I'm a big fan of the Canton Orange and the Monk's Elixir. Green, black, herbal and everything in between: you're going to find something and not walk out of the store empty handed.

I love the do-it-yourself component where you fill your own tin, ranging in size from the sampler "mini-tin" (8-10cups) to the 1500 cup barrel if you're seriously jonesing for tea. Plus if you have child like tendencies such as myself, you'll really get a kick out of putting the labels on the tins.

Silk Road is now one of our "must visit" stores every time we're in Victoria, and who knows, maybe one of these days we'll actually try the other side of the store with the aromatherapy.

Who needs meditation when Silk Road exists? The moment I walked in, I knew I was in my retail heaven. And then they offered me tea... [Insert sigh of relaxation, here, here and here!]

Tea and an abundance of tea accessories. I would have never thought how excited I would be to find so many steeping utensils. The walls full of teas - available for sniffing and self filling - empowered me to keep smelling and filling. (Smart marketing!)

Bath bombs... also self serve, and the abundance of lavender... no wonder the employees are so relaxed, kind, calm and helpful! If this was somewhere in Vancouver, you can bet I'd be stopping in often for sips and some smell-happy-therapy!

Picked up some Xmas presents here and found the selection of teas to be as good as any shop I've been too - Teavana in the US is comparable and any Vancouver shop can match it but can't beat it.

Pricing seems a bit steep to me but you are buying the best teas (with considerable markup) and the atmosphere and service are very good. The accessories are also great - picked up a very cute mug for my girlfriend that I haven't seen anywhere else.

Worth a stop if you like tea.

Silk Road has an amazing selection of loose-leaf teas, all organized well along their big tea wall... green teas, herbal teas, black teas.... they have so much stuff you could spend quite a bit of time just going around sniffing all the little jars before you make your selection!

The service here has always been great. Somebody always greets you when you step in and offers you a sample of whatever tea they've got brewing. Now that it's summer, they've been making cold teas or tea/juice mixes. I never mixed my tea with juice, but their mango tea mixed with lemonade was pretty refreshing!

Most regular teas are around $4 for the small tin, then it goes up from there. I bought matcha there for $8 for a small tin. Not really sure where else to buy it... so I bought it there.  I think their tea accessories are really pretty, but they are pricey.

ACTUALLY, they don't have a tea that I really like: vanilla rooibos! I can forgive them for that.. although if anybody from Silk Road is reading...... :)

Silk Road is one of my favourite places to shop in Victoria. Their teas and aromatherapy products are top quality yet reasonably priced, and they offer a fantastic array of complementary products (mugs, tea-brewing accessories, kitchen gear, etc). The shopping experience is always pleasant -- the store is never overcrowded, the salespeople are cheerful, and I love the way they hand out samples of their tea as you walk in (and often again as you're browsing).

Silk Road also offers a full spa, and the hour-long massage I had there about a month ago was absolute bliss. The whole experience is excellent: I was offered tea to sip while I was waiting for my appointment, the atmosphere in the spa (which is actually in the basement of the building) was quiet, warm, and relaxing without feeling at all pretentious, and I felt extremely at-ease the entire time. My only complaint (and it's a small one) would be that they need to add more seating in the waiting area, and maybe screen it off from the rest of the store a bit to make it feel more private/exclusive.

I needed to pick up a gift for my partner for Christmas - who as far as I know doesn't read Yelp! and won't therefore be unimpressed with me spoling the surprise.

I went to Silk Road primarily - okay, entirely - because of its previous reviews on Yelp!, and I was blown away.

I'm more comofrtable with tees than teas; and the only things I tend to massage are the facts, when discussing why the Leafs shall win the Cup (which, really, is funny in its own right). But the employees - who were EVERYwhere - were uniformly attentive without being obtrusive and incredible helpful. I mentioned that I wanted a black tea and no fruity flavours, and the fellow who was helping me - tall with a bright red curl in his brunette locks - pointed out 3 options. All of them looked great.

I also got a gift certificate for a massage - at what I considered to be a reasonable rate - and a free sample of tea mixed with cranberry juice (which was delicious).

A brilliant shopping experience, with a seriously wide selection of teas - and fantastic service to boot.

Silk Road is a happy place for me. If I ever I need a little pick-me-up I can step through their doors, sip the free tea offering and peruse all the pretty things. The tea selection is seriously phenomenal. All the teas are loose and you scoop them yourself into lovely matte finish tins. They also offer several flowering teas that bud as they brew. To go along with such luxuries are a myriad of kettles and mugs. Come to think of it most of mine have come from Silk Road.

As for the spa, I've gone once for a massage and because its located in the basement below the shop there is the constant clip clopping of shoppers above. It's quite a shame, as they do offer great services at extremely inexpensive prices. Unfortunately it was very tough to relax and I'm not one to generally be bothered by noises like this.

Silk Road is a gift buyers haven and a fabulous place to pick up a little treat for yourself. Its quite a pretty a shop to meander through and just a lovely feel good place.

Entering this store is such a soothing experience. I always feel like lingering to look at everything.  The organic tea choices are amazing, and I love the self - serve system. The staff is right there if you have a question and is happy to give recommendations for the right tea for an event.  They also have a great website with tea recipes.  I know that they are also very active in the community, and generous in providing tea for events. This is a business that is inspiring!

Very inviting store front. This must be the one of the best gift-giving meccas. A lady greeted me just inside the door with an offering of tea. I was on a mission so I kindly declined and told her what I was looking for. She pointed me to the other side of the store and told me Jennifer could help me. As I walked to the other side, I slowed to look at the entire décor. Wall-to-wall mugs, mug sets, teas, gift sets, and a xmas tree with seating for two, and washroom to one side. If you love kitchenware like me, you'd understand the need to slowly peruse. I noticed there was one other person on that side of the store. Presumably the lady who was Jennifer was offering a tea sampling and explained to the gentleman the differences between the teas he was looking at. I found my item and struggled with it....yes I struggled with a tea infuser. Jennifer approached me with a tea offering and provided me with instruction - "just pull, no twisting needed"

I perused some more and took longer than I expected. This place understands quality customer service. I was greeted by at 3 different staff, directed to another staff when the one I was speaking to could not answer my question, then the same staff person found the initiative to find the answer for me. All with a smile - next time I'm coming here just to shop for myself.

Oh, this is definitely one of my happy places!  They have an amazing selection of teas and beautiful tea pots, cups etc.  I always try to stock up on my favorite teas when I am there and bring them back to San Francisco.  I have also bought their aromatherapy products and been very happy with them.  Many years ago I got a gift certificate for a massage there, and it was lovely.  They have done quite a bit of remodeling since the early days, and they expanded into the building next door.  This makes it a really nice open space with plenty of room to admire the merchandise and taste their delicious teas.

Aside from the name, aromatherapy and tea company, they also offer massage and spa. It was 3 wks ago when I stumbled on this beautiful place when I visited Victoria for a day. I wish I had more time to spend and enjoy the town, but this place is definitely a must to visit and experience. If you like earth natural scent, then this is the place. This is the only place you can get the product, or on line. They have no branch at any location. I wish they would open one in San Francisco. Maybe... I can only hope. Check out the website, you'll understand. It'll also make a great gifts. Now, I wish I live in Victoria, BC.

Very cool tea boutique - almost felt like I was in New York.  Unique teas, exquisite tea service (tea pots, cups, etc.) for sale and spa items.  It's located in a very cool neighborhood, too -- adjacent to China Town.  On Sundays there is a very cool street fair with local crafts right outside it's doors.  It's on my list for my next Victoria trip--am dying to try the spa.
