When a bridesmaid's dress I was forced to order online arrived and was (predictably) terrible, I panicked and cried and hyperventilated. That is, until my good friend Fiona said "Relax, I will take you to Show Off."
We needed to find something cute and fifties in a red satin - and the red had to be a perfect match - what are the odds? Well, I don't know the statistics, but we did it. And for around 100 bucks!
I love this shop - the dresses are amazing and well priced and they seem to have a style for everyone in their little shop. I love how the dresses are arranged by colour - perfect for bridesmaids. Look no further - this is my new go-to for party dresses - at half the price of BCBG or similar. Yay!Listed in: My Very Favourites

A little gem on the busy Main Street. Show Off specializes in dresses and the prices are very reasonable. I was able to find a cute white dress for a party and it was on sale too. Sweet!! Their selection and quality rivals that of BCBG yet minus the fefty price tag.
If I ever need a dress, Show Off will be the first place I check out. -

Okay, so I know the summer wedding season is pretty much over, but girls, now we have to find Christmas party dresses! I scoured Vancouver this summer for a nice and affordable dress to attend two weddings, and finally hit gold at Show Off.
I found many dresses in here that I would buy, and I do not normally buy dresses. They have everything from something appropriate for brides maids, to party attire, to daytime dresses.
By the way, I ended up finding the perfect grey chiffon layered dress way under my budget and wore it for both weddings (It is the dress in my profile pic!). It may even make it to Christmas season too. Next time I need a dress for an event, this will be my first and last stop! -

I discovered this store about 3 years ago when I was looking for the perfect birthday dress and it was here that I found it.
It is the sweetest little red dress with white trim around a sweetheart neckline. It has a bit of flare at the hem with a layer of white tulle poking out. I am still in love with this dress and I'm always looking for the opportunity to wear it again!
I am currently on the hunt for bridesmaid dresses for my cousin's wedding.
The other day we were at a bridal store in New Westminster, after spending two hours there and finally deciding on two dresses, the total came to over $600 for both dresses!
The dresses alone were $179 each, then there was a rush order fee applied to each which came to $100 per dress plus taxes and alterations for a grand total of roughly $650. I was shocked at how much it was.
Maybe that's the standard price for bridal stores, I'm not very familiar with how much a bridesmaid dress should cost but we just couldn't fit that into my cousin's budget.
Show Off! was our solution. They have a wide range of formal dresses and gowns. I came in here on Friday to check it out first, there's dresses in a variety of colours, styles, and lengths. AND the prices were reasonable.
Most of the dresses were priced at $79!!!
If you're a bride-to-be on a tight budget. I highly recommend checking out the dresses here for your bridesmaids before going to a bridal store. You may find what you need here at half the price! -

If you are looking for uber-glam prom-wear and uniquely pretty gowns and dresses, look no further than Show Off! Owned by a European couple with a flair for glamour, the dresses here are not for the faint of heart nor are the prices. A great place to play dress up for a special occasion.

I purchased a beautiful black sheer cap-sleeved blouse/camisole set from this place. The set was 50% off from the regular price of $75 and I truly love it. What I purchased is not the typical piece you'd find at Show-Off; you'd find gowns and very nice dresses there. But the store is great if you are trying to find that special gown for that special event. The service is attentive and friendly as well.

Another one of Main Street's finds, Show Off specializes in special occasion wear, and the dresses you'll find here are really lovely. They are colourful and creative and made of luscious fabrics. As for the prices, they are a bit steep, but in the world of special occasion wear, they're well within the range of reasonable. So, next time you have a fancy occasion, treat yourself and be a show off!
