This store has awesome clothes. I always tend to walk in when I'm looking for a present for someone (they have super cool jewelry, accessories and little home things), and make a mental list of a clothes that I will come back to try on. Everything that I have bought here has brought me tons of compliments and has been incredibly comfortable.
I'm not actually a big shopper, but this is my kind of store. There's enough selection to only have to go here for a complete wardrobe, but not too much stuff to instill that Walmarty feeling. Everything is well made, and reasonably priced for its one-of-a-kind-ness. The staff is friendly and laid back, and honest about which jeans make my butt look best. Who can ask for more? -

Shopgirls is the place to go if you are looking for clothes designed by Canadian designers.
Selections are quite unique and great if you want to get something nice for that special occasion or even everyday casual wear.
Love those Yoga Jeans... They do make you look taller and skinner... or maybe I just being too optimistic?
If you have your little doggie with you, they are welcome to come in and shop with you! That's always good news for dog lovers like me!! -

VIBE
I love stores that are spaced and laid out well. This is definitely one of those places and feels a bit like a gallery. I've been here before for an event and not sure if they still do them but I like that they've used the space in different ways before.
The service here is phenomenal. I was looking for a bag and not only did the employee show me every bag they had but I told her I was going to Montreal and she gave me a curated list of her favourite stores there since she lived there and wrote them all down for me. Amazing.
THE GOODS
Yoga jeans, Norweigan Wood (sparingly for now), and more. Lots of local designers. Cool jewlery and accessories too. And again, shorts! They have some really cute high waisted ones here. Price points are a bit high so a piece has to blow me away before I buy but the selection is good.
OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK
Shop Shop Shoppity Shop. A great place to wander before heading into Grand Electric but moreso a staple of the burgeoning Parkdale area. These girls know what they're doing. -

I LOVE SHOP GIRLS!!!
One of my favorite boutiques on Queen St. It's stocked with the most current Independent Designer goods. I'm in heaven as soon as I walk in! So well merchandised, my eyes dance around the store at the assortment of Canadian made goods. The staff are very helpful and not pushy at all...Not to mention give you great style advice.
I find the pricing is totally reasonable, especially for the quality AND...for Queen St.W. I find they've got a good assortment to fit your budget. I have even shopped for B-day presents there. Scoring my BF her favorite pair of earrings and a hand made card for under $50!
If your a jean girl, you definitely need to go and try a pair of yoga jeans on there!! I have a handful of pairs and counting! You'll be hooked once you see how AMAZING you butt and lean you'll legs will look. These jeans put the GAP's 'Long and Lean' to shame...plus they offer free hemming :) -

I've lived in Parkdale for years but just tried out Shopgirls for the first time. I was sick of buying jeans that don't fit and a friend recommended the Yoga Jeans at Shopgirl. Within minutes, a salesgirl had collected a stack of jeans for me to try on and the third pair fit. They were a bit long, so she pinned them and sent them off to be hemmed, free of charge.
I went in there just to get jeans, but I spotted a red, white and black print dress and when I tried it on, it felt great and fit perfectly. I love the yoga jeans, the fact that the designers are all Canadian and that I'm supporting a local business. The staff were all friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the designers whose work they sell. -

Review from Deanna W.
Shopgirls is a boutique in Parkdale filled with women's fashion, home furnishings, jewellry and art. Their niche is that they feature local artists/designers so in a way this is like an Etsy shop. Think local buy local as the saying goes.
Some unique items can be found here whether you looking for colourful top or some catchy earings. Unfortunately, much of their wares are pricey although a decent sale occurs every so often.
I like em because they feature yoga jeans, a premium jean made in Montreal that's not too badly priced compared to other designer jeans on the market. These babies makes you look lean and thin without being discomforting. So they look good and feel good! -

I met the manager of Shopgirls, Ashley last summer at a mutual friend's wine and cheese patio banter. She mentioned the store was right near my work and I promised I would go check it out. Almost one year later and I am proud to say I finally went in the store to check it out.
I talented friend Lori-Anne, has her (AMAZING) hair fascinators sold here and I fell in love with one of the antique broach and single while feather designs.
My friend tried on a beautiful turquoise Judy Jetson-esque dress seen in the window and it looked phenomenal. I on the other hand, went nuts for a sweet butter yellow nautical inspired creation. Sadly it only came in a Large which sort of fit, but gave me a bad case of the squished uni-boob (every woman's dream silhouette, lol)
Ashley offered to call the designer and see if they had it in a XL. The designer said the dress was only made to Large, but offered to grade the pattern and make the dress for me in any colour, in my size for an extra $60. I found this to be reasonable and put a deposit on my Buttery cute dress immediately.
I would say that the service far surpassed my expectation and I love the idea of supporting local talent. As Deanna W. mentioned, the price points for this store are high, especially considering the area, but the product is beautiful and well worth the $$$.
