Review from Diana L.
i've been waiting a long time to sing this song, and over a year later, i can finally be heard!
a song for you Shiru-Bay (to be sung to the tune of "Copacabana" because eating here makes me want to shimmy):
Proceed to Yaletown, where you'll find goodies;
Like treats of sizzling Smoked Black Cod, and of course bowls of soy pods;
The drink list screams out, wine, beer and cocktails;
or choose a tea and sake mixer, it's the perfect Saturday night elixir!
Oh Ebi-Chili-Mayo, oh how you tease me so!
Oh Matcha Whipped Cream topping, made my de-ssert so whopping;
We were fine and full and elated!
Who could ask for more?
At Shiru-Baaaay, the chopstick cafe
The hottest spot of Hamilton Street
At Shiru-Baaaay, the chopstick cafe
Fun times and fab food put me in a good mood!
At Shiru-Baaaaaaaay, I fell in love.
[we did order all of the above, and though you may think a Japanese tapas restaurant is a Japanese tapas restaurant is a Japanese tapas restaurant - it really IS the best tasting, most friendly, and best value one here! 'm looking forward to the re-opening!] -

Dear Shiru Bay,
How I will miss your amazing Shrimp mayo tempura! :( and that HUGE communal table where my brother celebrated his birthday...You shall be missed.
With love,

Review from John D.
Modern, hip upscale Japanese with fusion touches in downtown Vancouver. Plating and presentation can be totally over the top but not unappetizingly so. Very deep drink selection makes this a big draw for the after work crowd during the week and then it turns into date central on the weekends.
I recommend coming with a large group so that you can share all the small share plates and appetizers. -
Review from Janet T.
As you can tell from my previous reviews, I'm a huge fan of izakaya food.....Great food & good atmosphere always go hand in hand. I like Chopsticks at Shiru Bay because it's pretty hip and the dishes are always nicely presented..I've been here maybe 15 times and I've loved it everytime. If you ever get the chance to dine here...go for the omakase (chef's personalize your food). It used to be a lot cheaper a few years back, for about 25 pp you would leave the restaurant stuffed. Now days, you'll be lucky if that even covers your drink bill. I recommend coming with a large group so you get to try out all of the different dishes...
