I am a big fan of Shine Fm. Shine is a Christian radio station here in Edmonton.
I appreciate them so much because they provide family friendly radio. Their tag line is actually "Safe and fun for the whole family." You can have the radio on and not worry about your kids (or someone else's kids) hearing songs that glorify drinking, drugs and sex. It's positive music.
I always enjoy the morning show when I'm getting ready for school. You know those people who tell lame jokes and make puns but you still love them because they are funny in their own right? That's Johnny Rocket and Malcolm Hunt. They are so much fun! They always have great trivia and they always make me laugh.
I've called into to Shine and they are as nice on the phone as they are on air.
If you are looking for a Christian radio station, or a station that plays family friendly music, check out 105.9 Shine Fm. It's great! -

I Drove by Shine FM today and had never heard of it before so I switched to the station to see what it was all about.
It was OK. The music was pretty unusually uplifting and positive, and then I realized it was a Christian radio station so it made total sense. The stations not bad at all they were playing music I am not used to hearing, ie. top 40, and it wasn't bad at all. It's more of a rock station but it is something I could switch too just to mix things up from the popular stations.
It is definitely a family friendly station so you don't have to worry about anyone getting offended. It's worth tuning in once in a while but don't expect to hear lady gaga or drake. -

Looking for a great inspirational radio on a Sunday morning to start off your week, then this has it! Its pretty commercial free time and great music of past and present. I wasnt a fan of the dj that left a year or so ago but its all good now. I stopped listening to the morning show because I probably don't find them as funny as they do? Also I was frustrated with slow road reports on way to work. I got to like 45 mins without a report once and quickly changed the next day. I do like Dean Jones man. He is funny and love his personal stories mixed in. Sometimes I think he may be related to Jughead Jones or maybe it was his father??
