I live down the street, and i never knew this place was there! I went here for St. Pattys Day, and they had a great enviroment. The staff was friendly the prices were adverage,BUT the drinks were soooo good!
I also had there wings, and those were some of the best wings i have tasted, and also a good size, not the cheapy small wings most places give you.
Oh yeah and all day happy hour on sundays! :) -

What did $39.69 get us? Come here for the DRINKS ONLY!
Ambiance: Great! We had our pick of the TV and the waitress turned the NCAA Basketball game up for us. We got to sit in our favorite wooden booth that is elevated and private and makes us feel like a King and Queen:) Too bad they don't have the food to back it up:(
Food: We both got the fish and chips platter. Luis got the sweet potato fries. They woulda been decent IF they had not added the season salt to them. I just don't like garlic w/my sweet potatoes, but Luis didn't mind it and they were his fries:) My fries were long and I asked them to hold the season salt, but even that didn't make em perfect. The fried cod was embarrassing. The coating was soft and gummy and stuck to the fork. It was so separated from the fish the I swear the batter and the fish were (2) separate ideas. Then there was this horrible green herb inside the casing? The fish just flaked and was hard to get a forkful. I kept dropping on the table, plate, or on my lap. The plate was so lacking that I asked them to bring some sliced tomatoes. They were so mushy and flavorless. If I were the cook/chef I woulda had too much pride to send those tomatoes out of the kitchen. The fact that they did send those last week's tomatoes out shows you that they don't take any pride in their quality standards. I advised the waitress that i would want a lot of ketchup. She said that would be no problem, but all I was presented was the little black plastic container that comes with the dish. I had to ask for ketchup twice. No attention to detail here! Luis comment that his food was alright. I had better.
Drinks: Luis had a Corona Rita. It is a frozen Margarita with a small bottle of Corona inverted into it. He Loved it! I had Dr. Watson's punch. It has Tommy Bahama white sand rum, Malibu coconut rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, and grenadine. It is hard to mess up a drink that has Malibu rum. If we go back we will do like the couple adjacent to us and just take a drink. Of course hey took several drinks.
It is too bad this restaurant is not better b/c it is a stone's throw from North Park Mall, a hop, skip, and a jump from Bed Bath and Beyond, and in Luis "hood".
Wifi: free
Waitress:Catrina was pleasant.
If this restaurant could get an excellent chef and some recipes they are in an excellent location to have a lot of customers.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I did Sherlock's in my twenties and loved it (the one in Addison), but nowadays it's more, "eh." I can do without it, but it does have a lively and fun atmosphere and the drink prices during happy hour are really good. And the bands they bring in are usually top-notch.
I would prefer getting there early enough to grab a table on the "quiet side" of the bar, chatting with close friends, and moving on before the mayhem starts. :) -

Love to go pubbin' here! I dig the beers, the TV's, the food, dig it all. The fish and chips are always a safe bet. I've had the pork chop for lunch and they were good too. Make sure and ask for the "big one" when ordering your beer. Will save you money and get the job done quicker. The patio is pretty nice when you can find a seat out there. Good spot!

Probably my fav bar in DFW. Great music, great drink specials, great crowd, and the food isn't bad either. I only wish I lived a little closer.

For a good time of drinks, darts, pool, foosball and shuffle board, Sherlock's is the place to go. Different drink specials on certain days, happy hour 'til 9pm and a full kitchen menu all day. (Fish and Chips is a must try.)
Really enjoy the live bands on the weekends and the life-size Jenga and Connect Four. -

The only thing that will bring me back here is the Happy Hour, which is all day Mon-Sat and very affordable. Other than that, this place is, well, just blah. The times I've come, some servers are good, some are bad. The food really is lacking in appeal. I've yet to order anything that I would order again and that includes spinach artichoke dip. Who can screw up that? They have a decent selection of beer on tap, nothing fancy. But I can get Shiner for $2, so that alone is worth 4-stars. But all the other crap brings the rating down.
But my major complaint is one experience I just encountered recently. Just this week my boyfriend and I were there to enjoy happy hour. Well, my bf went to use the restroom and the urinal sprayed him when he flushed all over his nice, non-cheap, khakis. And it was obvious. So he asked for the manager and he came over, my bf informed him of the faulty equipment. And the manager said "Oh, let me go check on that." And never came back. Now, I worked in the hospitality industry for 12 years and as a manger. A simple, "I'm sorry that happened, here's a round of Shiners (which would only cost $4) on me." with a smile goes a lot further than just brushing off the situation. It let's the patron know you possibly care and want us to return. It's not like the place was packed.
So if I go back to Sherlock's it more thank likely will be the Addison location. -

This was my first time coming here it was pretty cool, but very crowded we had to walk all around to find somewhere to sit and finally decided to sit on the patio which was great . It was a cool atmosphere, good music the waitress wasent that frequent but maybe because we sat in a far hidden corner. other than that it was a good time and the food was ok also.

2 star because there are multiple locations and one bad service a business doesn't make, but just had the absolute worst service I have ever experienced at Sherlocks believe her name started with an A, was ignored our table for 55 minutes. I had to go to the bar to get my drinks, which I don't mind, just not when I have a waitress, and at the end of the night, we still spent something around 45 dollars. Call me a bit old school, but if I spend money on service and goods, that is what I want, goods and service. This isn't the first time I have had spotty to crap service at a Sherlocks, but this just happened to be the most recent. I know this review seems to be more vent than anything, but honestly, I am a paying customer and I shouldn't be made to feel that I really don't matter. Horrible. If you go and get her ask for someone else or just walk your tab, she wouldn't figure it out for another 40 minutes anyways.

I would give it 3.5 stars, not quite good enough for 4 but above a 3.
The positives:
* The decor is warm and inviting. The place is huge and has plenty of seating. We did not watch a game but there were a lot of TVs around and as we left the place was filling up on a Saturday night so I assume they were there to watch football.
*The service. Our waitress Kelsey was very attentive and helpful. And she had memorized a very long list of beers on tap.
* Lots and lots of beers on tap.
* Happy hour til 9pm on a Saturday!
* The chicken nachos were quite good. I would order again.
* The menu reminded me a lot of TGI Fridays which used to be in this location. That is either good or bad, depending on your tastes.
Negatives:
* The wife got the flat iron steak ordered medium but it came out medium raw. We sent it back and it came out raw again. So we took it home and cooked it properly. But the flavor was good.
* My meatloaf was rather bland, not much flavor, but the mashed potatoes were homemade and good.
* The green beans were recommended but I did not like them at all.
* My biggest gripe: "domestic" drafts are $2 during happy hour and by ordering Sam Adams and then Blue Moon I assumed that since they are produced in the US that constitutes a domestic. But no, they are priced like an import, so while I thought I was getting $2 drafts in fact they were $4.25. This is a managerial issue--someone needs to learn geography and/or tell the customer that domestic prices do not necessarily apply to all domestic beers.
All in all, we enjoyed the place and most likely would return again, although wiser as to the beer pricing policy. -

I really like this Sherlock's. It's a good location and most of the staff are super friendly. They have the best happy hour....it goes to 9 p.m. every night. The drinks are the cheapest in Dallas. This place is also casual which is a nice change to most other places in Dallas. On Fridays and Saturdays they have bands that start around 10 p.m. and most of them are pretty decent. They have a lot of 80s cover bands. My friends and I love to see Metal Shop when they come here.

A group of friends went here to watch game 1 of the Mavericks-Lakers playoff series. Their happy hour was pretty awesome at $2 you-call-its. or as my friend Michael says, $2 what-ever-you-wants.
I really enjoyed the chicken fingers and the mozzarella sticks but those aren't really that hard to mess up i guess.
The TV/game watching experience was probably the worst I've experienced. They had a huge projector however it was the lowest def possible. It almost hurt your eyes to watch. I got Jason Kidd confused with Brian Cardinal and had to reference the other smaller tvs to confirm what happened.
If you want a chill place to hangout with good drink prices, I'd rate it at 4 stars but as far as a place to watch a game, do not be enticed by the cheap drink prices. It's not worth it. -

The really awesome thing about Sherlock's is that they have happy hour until 9pm. They have a bunch of drink options which is nice and Coors Light on tap!
All the food I've had there isn't great. Most of it is in the ok/good category. But sometimes it is just bad.
Go for drinks, skip the food. -

I freakin' love Sherlock's! Each time I come here it I love it more and more--and they stay open until 2am every night of the week! Doesn't get any better than that.
If you're looking for a club scene to go dancing this probably isn't the ideal place. But if you're looking to get your drink on and have fun in a casual setting, look no further!
It's a large place and there's separate rooms all throughout the pub. When you walk in the first room to the left looks like your friend's Grandma's living room complete with upholstered chairs surrounding a coffee table. The next room has booths next to a small bar. If you walk past that through the double doors you reach the main room of the pub, where you'll find another full bar, tons of open seating, and the live band/DJ. Then behind that room is a smaller room with darts and a pool table--and it's also where the restrooms are located. There in the backroom you'll also find another set of double doors that leads to the outdoor patio. I know, it seems like a maze but it really isn't as confusing as it sounds.
My favorite room in Sherlock's is the main room where the band plays. It has a great atmosphere that's very casual and good for big crowds. Most nights they have some kind of live music going on, whether it's a guest band or guest DJ. I recommend going when they do Rock Star Karaoke, which is karaoke but instead you're singing with a live band. (My favorite memory was watching a drunk guy in a neon windbreaker sweat suit sing Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" while jumping, kicking, and screaming "BOMP! BOMP! BOMP!") There's never a dull moment on Rock Star Karaoke nights.
The food and drinks here are good too and everything is reasonably priced. I mean, it's typical pub food, like chicken wings, burgers, fish and chips etc. However, they do switch it up once in a while and you'll find something different. The drink specials are also well priced and happy hour has even better deals. If you've only got a few bucks to drink, like me, you'll be fine!
I've always had good service here too. I've never been left hanging, even when I've been in on a busy Friday or Saturday night. All of the staff are friendly and talkative too, which is great in my opinion. I've always been taken care of.
Sherlock's does tends to get busy the later it gets into the night, so it's best to come a bit early to find a good place to sit and hang out. Security also cards everyone at the doors but there's no admission charge, wahoo! The line is usually never long either. Parking is free since Sherlock's is in a shopping center, but the lot is designed a little weird on the TJ Maxx side. Best nights to go are Fridays and Saturdays.
All in all, this is one of the best places to hang with a fun and casual atmosphere! -

Went to Sherlock's for a friend's birthday/Mavs watching party. Let me start by saying that this is totally not my type of bar. It's more the frat boy/sorority girl place, which I usually avoid like the plague, but nonetheless, I made the most of my visit.
Our waitress was fairly prompt with our drinks and food orders, and the food itself was decent. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, and it tasted a lot like I might find at Chili's. Nothing special, but it tasted good. I probably would not come back unless it was for some specific reason, not because it was a bad experience, but because this place just isn't my bag. -

Meh. This place will do. It's nothing special; just your average bar. Lots of tables though, so if you have a group or are going at a busy time, you'll be fine here. Great location, decent prices, OK food.

Good place for those looking to avoid the crowds and Uptown scene. It's quite large inside with several different seating areas - the front room with a fireplace and large booths, the middle room where there is typically a band playing, back room with a pool table and arcade games, and a large outdoor patio. Service is generally good, though we've had some issues when seated out on the patio (servers always seem to disappear).
The drink selection is good and there always seems to be a special going on. The food is mediocre as a whole, but everything we've had was edible. I would recommend sticking to the basics (i.e. sandwiches, burgers, anything fried). -

Terrible customer service. the waitress was sarcastic, the food mediocre and the management does not care about the guests. Felt completely unwelcomed. I've been to dives with better drink menus, service and entertainment. For a run of the mill place in Dallas to go for a food and drink, try anywhere else.

Let's Ignore the fact that I'm an LSU fan and this is one of their many designated watch party locations... yeah, foggitaboudit.
You'll also need to look past the notion that I'm cheap. (drinks are $2.50 at happy hour)
Also pay no mind that it's right around the corner from my job. It's never good to have a few before you go in anyway.
All that aside, I'm COMPLETELY unbiased in my review that this place is AWESOME!
It's off the beaten path a little (i.e. midtown in the middle of nowhere) but well worth the specials and the fun friendly folks that frequent the place. -
Review from Persia A.
It's pretty roomy here, actually. There are different rooms that look different. One room has couches surrounding a TV, there are booths in the main entrance, there's pool tables in the other room. It's good stuff. I like the set-up of the place.
They have pretty good prices as well . The employees there are awesome! Very nice and attentive and quick. -
Review from Ben E.
Cheap drinks good food.
Sherlock's is one of my regular lunch spots. It's close to work and usually in and out in about an hour. I usually get the Fish and Chips and I have never had an issue. Management takes care of you too, we once had a manager come over and tell us that our meal was comped due to the wait. He was upfront and told us before we had to wonder.
After work it's a great place to stop after a rough day at the office. Happy hour specials are ridiculously cheap, my regular mixed drink is usually $3 a pop, can't beat that. Not only that but it's mixed well and there is live music usually most nights.
So, should you go? Elementary, my dear Watson. -

The wife and I stopped in for lunch during the Texas-O.U. game and the place was dead. That was fine with us since we aren't the loud crowed types anyway. It was open seating, so we grabbed a booth. The ambiance wasn't all that great, but there were plenty of TV's in view to see Texas get a proper spanking. My wife had a burger which she annihilated and I had the Shepard's Pie which was awesome! The total was just over $30 and that included a couple Killian Reds. We'd like to try this place again just to see what it's like when it's hopping. Well, maybe not too hopping.

"Don't stop beeeeeeleivin'. Hold on to that feeeeeeelin'."
Yeah...I was at Sherlocks. I've come to the decision that this location is where middle aged men and women come to dance their way through their mid-life crisis. And that's okay, cept I'm not quite there yet. Gimme a few more years, 20 more pounds and some youth recapturing fake boobies and I'll be alllll over it.
Now I'm not sayin everyone there was old, just 90% of the dance floor rocking out to Journey. And I'm not even gonna go into little old dude who thought he was Michael Jackson--OR tubby dude who knew one step and did that step up to every single girl on the dance floor.
Honestly though, I always have a good time there. The band is always pretty good, nice mix of covers. It was fun to have a few more drinks and hang out. I'll end up there again, probably sooner than later...SCOTCH EGG!Listed in: The Places I Go Out

Dallas, TX
Ah Sherlock's, we've met so many times, and yet I am just now getting around to yelping about you.
Decorated like someone sprayed the walls with a garage sale, Sherlock's is the last of a dying breed of places that used to include Chili's, Friday's and now really only consists of Applebee's, except it's "British." I actually came here once with a guy who was from England and he couldn't help but laugh at the attempt. I suppose it would be akin to building a Texas Roadhouse across the pond and saying it is a quintessentially "Dallas" restaurant.
Anywho, while it's easy to make fun of Sherlock's for being kitschy, it's still a great place to come with friends and hang out. There are three main sections to the place: you've got your entryway, which has mostly tables and cool section/gazebo/booths. Then you go through a set of doors to the concert area. They've got a small stage set up where you'll see various cover bands playing depending on what night you go. They always seem to attract a pretty good band so if you post up in here, you're bound to have a good time. It does get a little loud though, so don't plan on being able to hear the people you're with. The third section has the dart boards, pool tables and foosball table, the usual stuff. There's also a patio, great for spring/summer nights.
As for the drink selection, they have pretty much anything you could ask for. I was surprised to find out when I last went there that they had the Rahr Winter Warmer, a great seasonal brew if you happen to get a chance to try it. They've also got specials going all the time so you can find some pretty good deals, especially if you dig wells.
Cover bands, faraway trinkets and foosball tables. What more could you ask for? -
Review from Tricia O.
I went to Sherlock's last night for the first time for a friend's going away party. I loved it. I thought it was really fun. They have a game room for people who want to play darts or pool. Then there's the music room with a live band, lots of tables and booths, and a long bar. There were lots of seats, which is unusual for a bar, and the band was rockin'. They were taking requests and playing country, Led Zeppelin, Journey. It was great. I also ran into a friend I hadn't seen since high school and a bunch of people I work with at Nordstrom. I had a lot of fun.
The perks:
Food is served until 2 am
It's right off the highway
There's lots of space
It's easy to find parking
Toilet paper in the bathroom stalls
The con:
The drink prices varied from the waitress and the bar, which I hate!!!!Listed in: Weekend Perfection

I came into Dallas late last night, and I was immediately whisked off to Sherlock's by my buddy. We entered the place... which basically looks like the other Baker Street Pub I have seen (in The Woodlands). It is infinitely better than that one.
First of all, the patrons (the few that were there on a Wednesday night... ) were pretty chill. They had a cover band playing requests, and they were really good. Even when the burly dude belted some Thriller. I was impressed.
The other thing I was impressed with... the prices. I had a tall beer for like $3, and a vodka-tonic for $3.50... That is obscenely cheap.
So yes, at least on one thing Dallas can beat out Houston... on their Baker Street Pub. So now the score is Dallas 1, Houston... a whole hell of a lot more.Listed in: ROTD's for me

Unlike the other Sherlock's in the Metroplex this one is really setup to cater to your mood. If you are in a mellow mood you can sit up front near the fireplace and not have to hear the cover bands playing.
If you are in the mood for decent, loud cover bands then you can hang out in the middle room and get the same food and service. They have bands every night so you can always find a band to love to hate. There is small game room behind the stage with darts, pool and the ubiquitous Golden Tee and Big Buck Hunter. The patio is just okay, if you really have to have a patio it will do.
Sherlock's has great food and a good variety for a bar. If you had to skip dinner and go straight to swilling mixed drinks to get up the courage to dance then this is a great place to go since you can always eat late. The crowd is varied and the service is normally above average. -
Review from Una H.
When I first moved to Dallas, we hit up this Sherlock's A LOT. It was usually bustlin but with fairly good waitress service and a decent crowd. Wednesday was trivia night, not sure if it still is.
I came here last night for a quick after work happy hour, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Its really easy to round up a few tables for a big group and the drink specials are cheap.
The food here isn't that bad either! I've actually come for lunch as well, and I like the grilled chicken platter. A friend of mine LOVES their blue cheese burger, and I usually get pretty decent service.
I'm happy they stopped smoking inside! I imagine it took a while to get that smell out of there, but now it's completely breathable. Yay for not smelling like ass after a couple of drinks.Listed in: Burger, Burger everywhere!, Drink, Drank, Drunk!

I like this Sherlock's more than the one in Addison closer to my place.
Every time I've walked in here they have a packed house with a cool cover band. The last time I visited they had an 80's cover hair band. The funny thing about this instance is they didn't just play 80's rock songs they were jamming to all genre's of music during the 80's and 90's.
The drinks are reasonably priced and they have a pool table in the rear.
The establishment is separated between a restaurant which is pretty quiet and a raucous bar. They have a tiny dance floor in front of the stage which is surrounded by concert speakers, the whole place is really deafening. Don't attempt to hold any sort of rational conversation while in this place, which is probably why the back patio is so popular and of course Laura Miller's no smoking ban in Dallas. -

Your basic pub, but with smokers. I know im a CA boy and we dont allow smoking in places anymore, but its so much nicer to go home and not smell like someones used ashtray.
Anyhow, i went to meet up with a bunch of friends to watch the LSU game. drinks were good, staff was friendly, LSU fans were loud. Decent place, smoke filled clothes sucked. -

I heard great things about this place so when my friends invited me here for St Patty's day, I was really excited. I have to admit, I had an unreasonable expectation that this place would be packed like how bars are in NYC but was little disappointed that it was rather empty.
Drinks were cheap (compared to my NYC prices) and fries were awesome. Mini-burger was not so great. Try to get something else if you are hungry.
I think I would come here to hang out again though. -

First of all, I'm amused this is also categorized as Adult Entertainment. A click on the category confirmed this one is not like the others....it's a cheezy national chain Irish Bar, mirroring it's sister in Addison, only sans smoke (hopefully).
I went here on Sunday for the NFL games - they had one big screen TV that was old projection style - and probably 5 or 6 small tube TV's, many of which had obstructed views (No High Def). The good thing - 1/2 price apps and $6 pitchers light domestic and $7 pitchers of shiner....the bill for the guy at the table next to me was $2.50 or something. The food is standard chain fried everything, which a touch of Irish authenticity - Scottish Egg and Bangers Mash. I would come back if I wanted to drink cheaply and wanted to insure seating (for me or 100 of my closest friends), but the Flinstone TV technology is a hang up. Having been to the Addison location, I'm less curious and more certain that the crowd would be the same - large volumes of friendly but aethestically unappealing people. -

I spent the last week trying to think of a good place to review for my 100th review. After turning it over in my head I decided to go with the bar that held my husband and mine's first date! What could be cooler than that, right?!
The thing I love about this bar, and still love, is the fact that it has good beer. I can't think of anything worse than when a bar has terrible beer. This place always serves it frosty and fresh and I've never picked a bad one. They also do great appetizers, and have a fun laid back wait staff.
GREAT atmosphere for a bar. Dark but not dirty, perfect spots for private conversations and a more open seating area that lends itself to the more bar-type chatter. Especially nice for a first date because neither of us felt the pressure of a dinner date. This was happy hour and fun and talking. We stayed super late and the bartender and the waitress we had were super friendly.
We still go back occasionally and it never seems to change. It's always warm and welcoming and quality beer and bar-food. Even when it's packed it still feels private, which is a weird thing to say, but you'll know it when you experience it.
Great bar, that holds a lot of great memories for our household. :) -

Wow !!! had a wonderful late lunch yesterday with my friend... Jamie was our server and she was friendly. The food and beer was great. The manager stopped by to check on us and we both enjoyed the large booth... Also they have house wine and draft beer for $2.50 during the happy hour... Great find for a late lunch and a beer.
