Sherbrooke provides an almost overwhelming selection of beer. But to help you navigate the nearly 1,000 different types, friendly and knowledgeable staff members can help you. The store also uses bright green tags to denote which beers are on special, thereby improving your ability to spot a good value in the cooler.
Sherbrooke also features a number of beers which are brewed specifically for them, but these beers tend to be priced at about $16-$17/six pack, which is more than I generally prefer to spend. But with such a great and frequently rotating selection, you'll find something good to drink at a decent price. -

I take people here, and they don't believe me until they arrive..I tell them there is a heaven on earth, I tell them they will fall to their knees and be overwhelmed with the plentiful selection of Brews! But not only Brews, but gin, scotch, vodkas, wine ...There is more than one friend who I have taken, and have truly thanked me, blessed me infact! lol
If I am stopping by Sherbrooke my friends can expect to not hear from me for hours, without warning...
Go, check it out, they have it all and what they don't have they can get...
Oh my, i get excited just thinking about it!
Enjoy!!
:D
PS as others have said, perhaps take a sweater to keep warm in the cooler, and don't be shy to take a basket, and pick one of these, and one of those and one of these and oh oh one of those......i digress.... -

Thank you, thank you! I'm so flattered to get this dukedom. I was in it for the long haul, for the journey. Yet, I look back and feel blessed to have won it. It's not easy accepting a dukedom this big. With great power comes great responsibility, and here I don't mean drinking responsibly. I'd like to thank everyone under the Sun as well as my parents, my ex-pet and the guy with a beard and a guitar at the LRT station.
When I was first offered advice to check out Sherbrooke I thought... blah - how good could it be? I've lived in LA for 5 years after all. Well it turns out that I was wrong. The beer selection grew on me and I enjoyed scripting away at the imagery and beer art work, while also trying intriguing beers from Czechvar to Rogue, and Alleykat to Muskrat ... oh, wait.. I just said that to make it rhyme. but from stouts to lagers to pilsners to ales. Then, I went on to take a halt at ales. Went from Dark ales to pale ales, from English Bay pale ales to Indian Pale Ales to Double IPAs to triple IPAs. The hops grew on me and all I want nowadays is hops in my coffee. It does bring a spring to my step!
(music begins to play... read the remainder quickly)
This story is one of simplicity, courage, unbridled enthusiasm for beer and a classic example of "don't judge a book by its cover". If you do plan to judge this place by its exteriors, at least flip to the last page and read the ending:
"And in the end the beer you take is equal to the love you make"
Okay. Enough hamming.Listed in: Hidden Gems

Best Variety of Beers in Edmonton!!!

If you want it, You will find it at the Sherbrooke Liquor Store!!
What an excellent selection of Liquors and Beers. They have most of the beers available in Domestic and especially Foreign. There are so many cases and bottles from all over the World here, but bring a warm jacket in the cooler as it is a might bit chilly in there!! You can also purchase single bottles here rather then buying a case to try it out.
The tellers are friendly and ready to help you immediately finding something. Cheers to Sherbrooke, I will be back!Listed in: 5 Star - The WOW Factor

Great selection. Wear a jacket so you can spend enough time in the cooler to pick some new chilled beverage adventures. More choice than my noggin could handle + fair pricing.
My new go-to for beerage and what not. -

Do you love trying new and exotic beers? Are you tired of Molson, Coors, Bud?
Sherbrooke is like a little piece of heaven to any craft beer lover, you could try a new beer everyday and it will still take you almost 2 years to go through their selection.
They have a close relationship with both local breweries (Alley Kat & Amber) and occasionally and special releases throughout the year.
If you love trying something new then you have to make the trip to their huge walk in fridge, but prepare to be overwhelmed with the selection. -

My love for craft beer may still be in it's infancy but the Sherbrooke location has enhanced my experiences. My first impression was disappointment due to the hype I have heard about this place and how average majority of the store appears (I generally drink beer to be fair). As I gazed around it took me a moment to locate the beer cooler but upon opening the cooler door and gawking at the bottles of booze I was never aware of, I could hear a chorus of German monks singing to the most holy of yeast and hops.
Now every time I go there, I take 20 minutes trying to decide what I should purchase considering money is always tight. My only complaint is why no other store has the same kind of vast selection. -

It's somehow fitting that I write this review drunk on beer purchased at Sherbrooke...
Why must Edmonton's best beer store look so terrible? Situated in a strip mall next to a VLT bar and tattoo parlour, one might drive by, cast a quick glance, and disregard it as the gathering place of kids looking to score Colt 45 for a cheap night in the ravine. Don't be deceived. Every beer available in Alberta can be found here. With 851 to choose from, you can make a new friend every day and still not be finished two years later. At Sherbrooke I have found beers I've loved in Australia, Tanzania, South Africa and Brazil. But it's about the product, not pretension. These are knowledgeable staff and adventurous beer makers, currently selling the tasty caramel-tinged Glenda Sherbrooke, at 18.5% and $6.99 a bottle the strongest beer bottled in this country, amazingly priced, and well worth stocking for a special occasion. Their wines and scotches I have yet to explore, but both seem high-end and plentiful. If you think light American beer is a step down from water, you're in the right place. If you've ever wondered what an obscure Ukrainian beer might taste like, pop in. Something in this place will make you smile. -

Last weekend I had a craving for some top notch American Craft Brews. Most Edmontonians don't believe me, but the US produces the best micro/craft brews in the world. Here in Edmonton we can get some very nice Belgian beers, but very few good American. Ranting about this at the liquor store that I frequent (DeVine's) the store clerk recommended I try Sherbrooke Liquor. Despite the fact that I don't like driving very far, and I really don't like driving outside the pretty parts of Edmonton (downtown, ravine, etc), I made a Saturday adventure of it and headed to the "best" beer store in Edmonton. I think I had my expectations too high. First, by the time I got there I had to go the bathroom. I asked the gentlemen behind the counter if I could use the restroom. His reply was that there was no public restroom and that I should go around the corner to Subway's. Grumble. So I go outside to find... no Subway in sight. Not as far as the eye can see in any direction. So I walk to Timmy H's and do my business. I head back to the beer store ready for some great American craft brews.
The beer room is not any bigger than the average corner liquor store, or maybe a little bigger. They advertise that they have a huge number of beers, and they do, but most are the same beers that you can get elsewhere. The same Belgians, but more expensive than Aristocrat liquors on Jasper and 122 St. And they had beer from only 6 American craft breweries: Hopworks, Rogue, Pike, Coney Island, North Coast (Red Seal), and Dogfish Head. Furthermore, they only had one North Coast beer and two Dogfish Head. So this just confirms my grumblings that there isn't enough good American beer in Edmonton. I'll probably go back to get Red Seal (which I am enjoying right now), but that is the only beer that I can't get somewhere else in Edmonton. Honestly, the one man beer store in my neighborhood has Coney Island Human Blockhead Tough as Nails Lager! Please Edmontonians. Speak out and ask for more of the great American craft brews that you're missing (Deschutes, Three Floyds, Bell's, Great Lakes, Metropolitan, Goose Island, Portsmouth, Boulevard, the list goes on and on.) You can't even get Fat Tire here! -

Western Canada's Largest Selection of Beer? Well..sure, I will try that out.
A while back, I had stopped eating gluten and was on the search for gluten free products in every way (pizza, pasta, bread, and yes, beer) and thanks to my innovative and supportive boyfriend, he helped in the search for beer. And this was where we found it! They had 3 different kinds of gluten-free beer, and one employee came over and offered help. He had actually tried the beer (even though he had no issues with gluten) and he gave a suggestion for which one to try.
It really was not that different than regular beer. I am not a beer aficionado so maybe I am not the best judge, but I liked it.
The sheer magnitude of the amount of beer this place stocks is insane. If you are looking for a certain type of beer that is hard to find - head to Sherbrook. I can almost guarantee they will have it, or know where to get it! -

Sherbrooke Liquor Store is a hidden gem in the City of Champions. I'm not just saying this because it's my closest liquor store, but due to their vast selection and helpful staff.
Anyone will be impressed when they walk into the stores cooler as it's 1/3 the size of the store and stocked with over 600 kinds of beer and coolers. Imports, domestics and specialty brews await you. If it's beer you love you should become of a member of their Beer Club. The club offers one to three selections of beer to sample each month and membership lengths are available to suit your "taste"!
Now, I'm a wino and this section is my vice. Sherbrooke Liquor has the hard-to-find bottles of vintages you'll delight in savouring. I try and support local and regional businesses as much as possible and am very impressed with the selection of Canadian and Albertan wines. I still love my Naked Grape Shiraz, but am always willing to try something different like the amazing fruit wines from Alberta's only organic family owned and operated en Santé Winery.
Not to be out done is the spirits section. From whiskeys and vodkas, rums and liquors, Sherbrooke Liquor has it all. Check it out. Believe me; it'll be worth your time. -

Everyone knows I love food samples, but seriously, how often are you greeted with BOOZE samples?!? Everytime I've been to Sherbrooke Liquor, they've always had some kind of sample waiting for you. Last time it was a caribbean rum vs. a coconut rum! Anyways.. if you can never find that beer you've been trying to find, try Sherbrooke. It's beer warehouse is your utopia. There's nothing really I can say that hasn't already been said, but they have a beer AND wine club. The memberships is quite a bit to throw down at once ($579 for an annual membership) but is worth it if you're looking to become a beer/wine connoisseur ! I also love how informative their website is, it tells you whether or not they are restocking, why they don't have a beer you're looking for, and a list of all their beers ! The only thing you shouldn't expect here is the lowest price in town. If I come here for something "special" but also get something I regularly get, I find that it's at least 3+ dollars then where I usually find it. But you can't compete with the great and extremely helpful staff here so I guess you're putting those extra dollars to some well deserved staff!

Conveniently located about 28 seconds walk from my front door, this is quite possibly the best liquor store on earth. It's the best in Canada, I know. Over 800 brands of beer and counting. Some of their pricing is a little higher than others, but it's a small price to pay for face-punchingly amazing variety. I shake my heads and die a little inside when I see simps walk out with 24 cases of Budwieser or Bud light lime, or Kokanee... you get the picture. With a magical rainbow plethora of beer screaming at one from the entire outer wall of their massive and decadent beer cooler, how can you NOT explore new frontiers?! The wine selection here is also mighty fine, as is the spirits aisles. Jim P. The owner is always bringing in cool stuff that you'll never find at a chain store either. $700 bottles of scotch?! Heck yes. Go here, buy beers. And make sure they're beers that don't have T.V. commercials. If the label isn't english, chances are, it's probably good too. This all comes from a man who's had 98% of the entire beer cooler's population; even the s#!tty beers.

Attention beer lovers! If you have never heard of or been to Sherbrooke liquor store, you have missed a great opportunity to taste beer from countries around the globe. But it is not too late - these guys restock their store religiously.
Im not a girly girl who prefers cocktails over beer. A tall glass of cold light beer on a hot summer day is my idea of heaven. Sheerbrooke liquor store owner's passion for beer is apparent - the walk-in fridge is filled with what looks like a hundred beers from around the world. You can choose beer from Germany, Poland, Japan, Chech Republic and Belgium to name a few. Some of my favourites and the ones I buy most often are Paulaner, Zubr, Hacker-Pschorr and König Ludwig.
The staff are very knowledgeable, and since it is guaranteed that you will look lost in the large fridge full of beer, they are very helpful and will put you out of your misery by making great recommendations.
Sherbrooke liquor store gets four stars from me because the owner ought to beautify the exterior of his store and make it reflect the wonderfulness that is on the inside. -

Easily the best selection of beer in town. All kinds of beer imported from other countries, planets, galaxies & dimensions. The staff are helpful & knowledgeable. After I'm cremated, I want my ashes sprinkled in their massive cooler.
