My experience might be slightly different from others'. We stayed in the presidential suite (an--unusual, I think--upgrade as an SPG platinum member).

It was entirely unreal to eat comped breakfast in the comfort of the large room with the falls so close you can feel the mist and to take a jacuzzi bath with a view of the falls (it was like suntanning out on the huge deck at one of the falls-view suites at the Sheraton Iguazu Falls in Argentina, except the Niagara Falls are much closer to this hotel).

Yeah, they designed this room pretty damn good, knowing the view the room had to offer - every activity you do in the room (sitting on the bed, reading by the corner, eating, bathroom, etc.) can be done with the falls in your eyesight. I'll definitely stay here again the next time I'm at Niagara Falls!

I stayed here in July of 2011 for four nights.  The hotel was really nice with comfortable beds and a gorgeous room with a view of Niagara Falls from the window.  It's in a convenient location to all the tourist attractions including Clifton Hill as well as all the Niagara Falls tours.  The concierge and hotel staff are friendly and helpful.  There is a gym and a rooftop pool as well, which was very nice.

    IN SUMMARY:

    The downsides:
-no free WiFi.  With so many other hotels offering that, and for the price you pay to stay here, that should be provided.
-expensive parking.  I think it was around CAD 26/day.
-A LOT of people stay here.  The lobby is incredibly crowded and waiting for an elevator can take some time.
-The Starbucks in the lobby is more expensive than the other Starbucks up the street.

    The upsides:
-nice little park directly across the street.
-within walking distance from tourist attractions
    -beautiful views
-Starbucks coffee and Tazo tea provided in the rooms.
-at least there IS a starbucks in the lobby.

Honestly, I wouldn't stay here again.  It was nice, but there are many other hotels in the area that are cheaper, just as convenient and they offer wi-fi and/or complimentary breakfast.  While the view of the falls is gorgeous, there are so many places you can see it, it's not entirely necessary to be able to see it while you're in your hotel room.

Seriously! Room is outdated. Our bed was lopsided. There were pubic hairs on our bedspread and stuck on the shower wall. Eeewwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And when opening the door to the bathroom, I kept hitting the toilet bowel. There's no space in the bathroom (and that's with a room with a partial view of the falls). The bathtub would not drain. I waddled in ankle deep water each time I showered. And for some reason, there were always bugs/moth-like things in the room. I killed about 8 of them. Am I making this place sound appealing or what???

So why did I chose this hotel? Because...

    1. It's a Sheraton (and I expected better)
    2. View of the Falls (great view from their Falls Restaurant)
    3. It's interconnected to other facilities (Hard Rock, Rain Forest Cafe, Hershey store, etc)

    Things to know-
    1. Self-parking is a block away. So you park in their parking structure, then take this covered walk way all the way back to the hotel. You'll go through the Crown Plaza hotel, Hard Rock, etc. before you make it back to your hotel.
    2. Parking is not cheap.
    3. The location is close to everything & there's a Starbucks downstairs
    4. Free wi-fi in lobby (if not $15/24hrs in room)

    Fallsview Restaurant-

Day #1-I received 2 complimentary buffet breakfast meals with my 2 night stay. The buffet was good (1st day), but service was bad. How can service be bad when it's a buffet??? Our waiter kept avoiding eye contact with us, so just to get water, our juices refilled, or the bill...it was close to impossible! We had to get someone else's attention every single time. But what I thought was most interesting was when we paid for the bill. Our waiter "pretended" to look busy as I saw him fussing with a glass (moving it back and forth) and glancing at our table to see what we would tip him. How odd is that??? First he is no where to be found, next thing you know he's hovering??? We ended up paying and left. Had it not been free, I would not have come back. So, lets go on to breakfast #2 (day 2).

Day #2-We were seated in another section with different waiters. Thank goodness I wasn't it the other guys section. I was seriously going to object. One of my stops was to the breakfast station where they make your food-omelet or waffles. I loved the waffles the day before and had to have some this day. While the lady was taking my waffles out of her waffle machine, the waffles all fell on to the table and some dangled on the side of the table (4 mini-waffles). They looked like a mess! She proceeded to place them on a plate for me (pile of unappealing waffles that no longer resembled a waffle) and told me that her table is clean so it's okay to eat. WHAT THE HECK??? There was no offer to re-do them, just to eat the mangled pieces of cooked batter!

The next frustrations was that my husband ordered an omelet with egg whites. All I have to say is that, if you can't make an omelet, just say so!!! Don't try to wing it because you know what? What you end up is with a burnt egg white scramblet, My husband felt bad for her and took it anyways. Sad part is, we didn't end up eating any of it and stuck with the pre-cooked food. What a waste!

So is it worth staying? I'll let you decide.

I had nothing to complain about this ideally located Niagara Falls hotel.  I came for a wedding, with an associated wedding rate booking.  That was easy and straightforward enough, and when I arrived for registration, no snags.

Everyone was very friendly, of what little contact I had, and the room was comfortable, very big, and had a pretty view of the Falls.

Internet is free downstiars at the kiosks for guests (though my room had free wifi and parking with the special rate).

I would warn, though, that the wedding couple mentioned a number of mixups with their wedding, though I'd say as a guest, we couldn't tell at all.  Reception and ceremony also went just fine and was enjoyed by all.

Four stars go to hotels that deliver on a comfortable room with a few nice plusses (in this instance, the size and view), no snags (at least for me as guest), conveniently located and priced to reflect good value.

Now that I came back and stayed at the hilton, Sheraton went up one star.

I miss this place dearly, it was extremely close to the falls. The walk is literally down the street (5 min walk) so the first tour we went on was maid of the mist. We ate at the Fallsview Restaurant and had such a fabulous time, the view was gorgeous! My boyfriend had steak while I had the rack of lamb and we both loved it (major recommendation).

Also, the location is great, everything is around it! Around the corner is a GIGANTIC playground for all ages! It's not really a playground but there are haunted houses, CANDY STORES!, restaurants, arcade, ferris wheel, and MUCH more. Location made everything 100x better! I am getting so excited just reminiscing.

I enjoyed this place more that the Hilton which is a first because I LOVE HILTONS!

Was in Niagara Falls over the weekend for a conference. Events took place both here and at the adjoining Crowne Plaza.

As it was an all-expenses paid weekend, the organizers of the event chose where all delegates would be staying. Our room was either at the Crowne Plaza or at the Sheraton. My room was at the latter.

I arrived late on Thursday evening and check-in was quick. In spite of the long line, I managed to be in my room and unpacked within a half hour. My room was amazing. I was on the second floor and had an awesome view of the Falls. Beds were soooo comfortable. The cherry on top would be the fireplace found in the room.

From a conference delegate view, I found the facilities to be great. There were many, many conference rooms varying in sizes. The buffet meals were all good and I found all the catering staff to be very professional.

I had lost hope in Niagara Falls hotels after my terrible experience at the Embassy Suites up the street, but Sheraton has brought back hope!

    Enjoyed our stay here.

Our first room had an issue with the air conditioner. The unit made sounds that made the room seem like it had a water feature in it. We called engineering and he "fixed it." We came back a few hours later and the water feature noise was back. Called the front desk and they upgraded us to an awesome corner suite.

The hotel is a little old feeling - and does need some updating. We are SPG (Starwood preferred guests) members and the first room we were in was on the SPG floor - which was much nicer than the corner suite floor, that did not appear to be designated for the SPG members.

The first room had a nice cozy fireplace and a lovely view of the falls. The bathroom was big, but for some reason the tiny toilet was butted up and almost underneath the bathroom countertop - very strange.

The corner suite had a balcony, two living areas, a fireplace, a "wet bar" and bathroom. The bathroom had a two person jacuzzi tub with a shower in it and partial shower doors. The whole back of the bathroom was windows so you could look at the falls while taking a shower - I was too scared and pulled the shades a little, but did open the faux balcony door in the bathroom to still get a peek of the falls while taking a shower - it was nice. The room also had two sinks and a tv (though it was and OLD tv - but cute to think they think that is a nice touch :)

All in all, I would stay here again.

AMAZING view of falls.   Wow, pay the higher amount and gets a fallsview.  It will be worth it.  We also upgraded for a hottub in the room, not really necessary unless you are staying there longer.
The room was really nice.  Only ridiculous thing was that when I called down the desk and requested a disposable razor they said they didn't have any and I could purchase the one in the basket for like $24.  That should be provided.
When you park in the garage, it you go to the casino next door and spend $20 on one machine, you get free parking.  I will gladly spend my $20 on that.

Great location.  The rooms were sweet and I highly recommend this hotel.  We could walk anywhere from this hotel.

Parking and navigating into the lobby was confusing at first, but once we got the hang of it, it presented no problems.  The lobby is attached to the Hard Rock Cafe, a Starbucks, some stores, and another hotel, and the waterpark entrance is in the hotel.  If you can afford it, I think there are rooms with falls view.

The pool was small-ish but pretty, and the gym was fun.  I got to run on the treadmill in view of the falls.  So that was neat.

This is probably one of the better hotels by the falls, with the exception of the new hotels built near Fallsview Casino.

The hotel is pretty clean, but what truly sets this one apart is that they allow dogs and the customer service is above and beyond the average.

As soon as you pull up by the hotel the doormen and bell-stand staff head over and help you out, informing you of registration procedures, parking information and what have you.

The hotel room was very clean and well staffed on my stay, even during off season, so you know you'll be in good hands.

Beware of Starbucks in the lobby, since everything on the menu is sold at a higher price than everywhere else in Canada. Skip Starbucks and head over to Tim Hortons on Clifton Hill for a coffee and muffin instead.

Let's get the positives out of the way first.  You are RIGHT in the middle of the action.  If you're looking to hit all of the touristy stuff like wax museums, haunted houses, every chain restaurant known to man, the Skywheel and want the Falls less than a full block away then yes, this is THE place to stay.  The front desk is cheerful as is the concierge, housekeeping and maintenance (in the daytime) is very fast.    So this is 5 star stuff, why the 3 stars?

The noise-  We were on the 6th floor (not very high despite me asking in my reservation for a high floor) and it sounded like we were in the middle of the street.  You could hear every tourist talking in the wide array of languages morning, noon and night, buses, locals honking at tourists and good luck trying to sleep past 7am.  The walls are paper thin so between the clydesdale stomping upstairs, the toddler next door screaming and being able to hear people open their balcony door or front door so loud it sounded like they were entering your room, it made for some irritating moments.  Now for my favorites...the nickel and diming.

Wifi- You get 30 minutes of wifi in the lobby for free but you're forced to give your room number and name to sign in so they can charge you the second you go over your limit.  (Which we never did and likely wouldn't anyway)  But when I'm paying $279-$329 per night depending on the night for an "Executive Corner Suite", I'd better have unlimited wifi either in my room (ideally) or in the lobby.  If Red Roof Inn can do it (according to the billboards we passed), the Sheraton should be a no brainer.

Local phone calls- Most places give free unlimited local phone calls.  The most I've ever paid was $.50 in Hawaii.  Here not only was it $1.25 but add on $.17 for HST (TAX!!!) and $.04 for PF  (no clue what that is) and we're up to $1.46 for ONE local phone call to order bad pizza!

The key sleeve fine print-  It said in teeny tiny print "I have accepted delivery of THE GLOBE AND THE MAIL , if refused, a $.75 (for weekday) and/or $1.50 (for Saturday) credit will be applied to my account."  It must be refused at registration so note to self for anyone staying at the Sheraton on the Falls (or Sheraton's period??).  They're not going to point it out to you.  I was livid.  I'm surprised they didn't charge me to blow my nose in the Kleenex provided!

I won't even go into the HUGE fault running from the bathroom through the length of the room where it appears the front of the hotel is settling or the squashed bugs on the low bathroom ceiling, the non-existent water pressure which makes washing long hair nearly impossible much less flushing a toilet.

So that's how a 5 star hotel, gets a 3 star and makes me remember why we rent private residences on vacation whenever possible.

The BEST Hotel on the Niagara Falls Strip!  I have stayed previously near the Horseshoe Falls, but it is much more crowed, wet, misty near all those hotels.

This was the best hotel, best views, situated to everything.  (you can walk to ripley's, wax museums, food, maid of the mist, gardens, hershey's, guiness).

Our fallsview room had floor to ceiling windows with a 'balcony'.  (Ok, the glass door opened up to the room, so the balcony was actually your converted room).  We had full view of the USA falls directly in front of us, and the Horseshoe Falls were to the right of that.  Was a spectacular view.  At night, the colours were awesome.  We had wine, take out food, music & fireplace while watching the fabby sights.

Room was perfectly clean, much larger than normal (415 sq ft oppossed the usual 300).  Amenities such as free starbucks coffee & tao tea, fireplace, living room, flat screen tv in room and bathroom.  Waterpark attached to hotel (didn't use - $45 extra).

I would highly reccomend spending a bit more for this - you will not be disappointed with the awe-inspiring spectical :-)

The location of this hotel...I think it can't be beat. It is perfect location in relation to the falls, Clifton Hill, Maid of the Mist Tour, etc. From our hotel room we got a nice view of the falls and a (free) little rock concert going on in the park next door.

To me, the huge crowds in and around the hotel are a drawback. I went to the washroom in the lobby and the floor was slick with brown water from so many people using it, dripping water everywhere, etc. There was always a huge crowd loitering around the computers in the lobby waiting to log their kids on to play games or whatever. The elevators were steamy hot and always a long wait no matter what floor you were going to.

The outdoor pool on the 7th floor was great! The sign said it closed at 9pm or something but we were out there much later than that. The indoor pool on the 12th floor was small and packed with people when I stopped by.

There is an arcade on the "UL" level just above the lobby that we went to. Most of the games were worn out & broken. We had to keep grabbing the maintenance dude to come over and reset the games. Also the "SWAT" ride was a total mess...you're supposed to shoot the bad guys as they pop up with these light guns and then get your score at the end of the ride....who knows though. It was just plain worn out. Same with the mini-golf there.

We stayed at this hotel from Wednesday to Saturday in late May. Overall good experience. The views from the hotel room are awesome - makes it worth it to stay here. You can easily walk every where from this hotel. The guestrooms were modern as was the hotel itself.

Pros: view, location, easy self parking, friendly staff, several restaurants in the hotel compound (Hard Rock, Ruby Tuesdays, etc...) - we didn't eat at any of these places, but it was nice to have, free Internet in the lobby, Starbucks in the lobby

Cons: fitness center is extremely small, pool is very small (not that we went there for the pool, but it would have been nice to relax during the later part of the day), the lobby gets very crowded and the elevators tend to get backed-up

Overall, good experience and would probably return to this hotel because of its location.

My experience with this particular Sheraton was not what I expected. In Niagara Falls, a hotel with a waterfall view is highly prized and comes with a somewhat hefty price tag.
I decided to splurg and booked a full falls view room. Upon checking in, however, we found that the view from our room was of trees and a sliver of water could be seen in between the trees. Normally I wouldn't care much about the view from the room, but I specifically got this room for the view.
I was a bit flustered at this since the woman at registration assured me it was a full falls view. I went back down to the desk and explained the situation asking for a room on a higher floor. I was then told they had no rooms and the only way I could get a full falls view would be if I paid for an upgrade. The woman gave me the option immediately as if this sort of thing happened regularly, and without any sort of apology for the situation. I felt they were being deceptive.
The new room was very nice, (the view I was originally expecting) but I felt that the Sheraton should have handled the situation better and shouldn't charge for an upgrade if they are the ones who over booked their rooms.
I also was not impressed by the extra prices for EVERYTHING. Parking isn't even included ($20 + tax) and you have to rent a mini fridge if you want to keep things cold.

I came here to attend a conference hosted in the hotel for 4 nights. The conference had about 1000 people. My "city view" room on the 9th floor was really a view of a roof and the back of some house of horrors. The room was also quite small for this sort of hotel and everything comes with a price tag. Bewarned if you have wee ones: the room has no fridge(!!!!!) AND the snack basket has toys. It's a nightmare waiting to happen. Kids also aren't allowed in the indoor pool during certain hours. Service was pretty good, except at the front desk where some people were highly competent and others much less so. Clean rooms and relatively quiet. Internet is $15 per day which is annoying.

I recommend the breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. On the 15th floor, the restaurant has AMAZING views of the falls, and the buffet has something for everyone. I doubt I'll be coming back to Niagara Falls, but if I do, I'd probably stay here again. By the way, the Crowne Plaza next door has old world charm and a lot of character, which is much appreciated compared to the faceless tourist spawn in the rest of Niagara. I think the Crowne Plaza is more affordable, and you'll get the same quality of experience. The other shame about this hotel is that it's pretty far away from Niagara Falls' real downtown, which has way better restaurants!

This was an awesome hotel while visiting Niagara Falls. If you get a full falls view room it's amazing. We were on the 18th floor and they had fireworks the first night we were in town over the falls. The only bad thing is it gets foggy over the falls at night (at least in June it did.) It's very close to (connected even) an indoor water park, Hard Rock Cafe, and has a Starbucks in the lobby. Parking was $10CAD/day for self parking or $20CAD/day for valet.

The staff were very nice and there are 2 pools at this location, an indoor one with a window view and an outdoor one with a gazebo overlooking the falls. They even have a mini bar with a bartender at the outdoor pool. Not a big drink selection, but sufficient. *NOTE* They DID NOT have tequila. LOL

All in all, the rates were reasonable, and the rooms very nice and clean. We had a gas fireplace, whirlpool tub, walk-in shower, and sitting area in the room. I hope to visit the area in the winter and this will be our hotel of choice.

This place is clean! they have down pillows and blankets! So warm! They have an electric fireplace, ok it didn't work but still! You could crank up the heat if you needed to!

They had a tv in the bathroom! Yes! A TV in the bathroom, you can watch animal planet while showering. hee hee!

We had a great view of the falls from our room. We had joining rooms! The hotel leaves 2 bottles of water in each room. The bottles cost $6 each! so we moved that to the side. It also has a basket filled with various items, toothbrush, toothpaste, coloring book, etc. Its totally jacked up, so we just pushed that to the side as well.

You can opt to be green and not have them clean the room every single day, when you do that, you save $5. Which they give back to you in the form of a starbucks voucher. Even better! There's a starbucks located in the lobby for your caffeine needs.

They also have free internet for people staying there. You have 30 min, and all you do is type in the name of the person who paid for the room and your room number. if you want it in your room it will cost you. Just waddle yourself downstairs and use the net there. the first 5 pages you print are free, after that it will cost you.

It was pretty nice there, the staff was friendly and nice, told us where to find parking and the rooms were clean! I like down comforters cause they're so warm, and its cold up in canada!

I enjoyed this hotel. We upgraded to fallsview suites and it was beautiful. We had a fireplace and a whirlpool (very fun!).

I stayed here for my birthday and they were very accomadating. My boyfriend had a surprise for me. He asked the receptionist to deliver my gift at 9am and they showed up on time. Of course, I was still sleeping and was bitchin about why someone is knocking on the door when I left the "do not disturb" sign on the door; however, when I open the door, I was greeted with a "happy birthday" and a big gift bag. It was very sweet! My boyfriend also arranged a cheesecake to be delivered at 10am. Unfortunately, they forgot to bring it and he had to call. Within 5 minutes, they delivered the cake with a candle and they paid for everything due to being late.

The staff was very knowledgable and very sweet. The only issue with this hotel is it's a 15-20 min walk from Clifton Hills which is where all the attractions are. If you want to go to Niagara Falls to see the musuems, etc., I would recommend staying somewhere else. However, this hotel is 5 min away from the falls attractions (maid of the mist, journey behind the falls, etc.)

Great location, and they accept dogs with no additional charge.  Room was ok and reasonably priced.  Ours was $119 and overlooked the interior business center.  In reality, the window pointed to a wall!  I would have asked to change rooms, but we arrived very late, and just wanted to sleep anyway.  The beds were VERY comfortable and linens clean.  Bathroom was fairly tight, but in good repair.  Shower had plenty of hot water.  As other reviewers noted, the hotel is in the center of the action, but as such, the lobby and main floor facilities are constantly packed.  We paid $18 to self-park the car in a ramp a few blocks away.  The indoor pool had some sort of foul odor which prevented anyone from staying there more than a few minutes.  The outdoor pool was much better and had a great view!

If back in town, we'd stay again, but would request falls-facing room.

We booked Sheraton On The Falls on 2010 Valentine's Day through http://expedia.ca and paid full amount. The hotel have good view. We booked full falls view room. The receptionist are nice but not very well trained. Their management are very tough. We bring in a very well trained chihuahua and the dog is very quite in the room. The receptionist let us leave our cell phone number . We checked in and put our luggage in hotel room. Two hours later we went to hotel restaurant had dinner for 45 minutes. The hotel restaurant take room number only and charge to room. After they checked our room number they find out my family had dinner in the restaurant that means the dog in the room unattended. We didn't got any call. the Manager said we have to leave the hotel right away. We are forced to leave the hotel. I just want to say the hotel didn't offer reasonable service instead they trap people pay and leave. I hope I am the only case.

Before we leave the hotel, they send their stuff to checked room with no problem. I start write review in internet. Several days later the hotel charged me $200, I called hotel why they said if I remove the review they could refund my $200 dollars. I never get the money back.

I pretty much agree with Carrie P.  I would just like to add that booking on-line made a large difference.  I tried to book this hotel by calling Sheraton's phone booking and was told the only rooms still available were suites.  Not feeling the need to spend that much for a hotel, I asked why the less expensive City view rooms were not available since they appeared to have them on-line.  The person I spoke with explained that they hold some rooms just for on-line booking.  So, I went back and booked the 3 rooms we needed on-line.  Then, when we got to the hotel they told us that they just happened to have 3 Fallsview rooms available on the same floor.  Would we like to upgrade to those for an extra $15 a night.  Yes! (Even on-line those were $100 more a night.)   The rooms were much larger, with fireplaces, and floor to ceiling views of the American Falls straight ahead, and the Horseshoe Falls over to the right.
