Review from Stefany V.
San Antonio, TX
Stayed here in November for a conference- I was the only member of our group to be in a single room. We all booked together but our rooms were scattered throughout the entire hotel, and I was the only one in the first tower. It was odd but not really a problem or anything.
Rooms were big and spacious. Went in the double rooms a few of my coworkers were in and those were nice as well. My bed was comfortable and the room was cleaned each day and new towels were brought in. TV was easy to figure out (this is a plus, I'm tech-impaired sometimes), and room was sufficiently cold for me (I prefer it to be about 70 degrees).
I most appreciated the shuttle service, but whether it was through the hotel or the convention itself, I am not sure.
Computer in business lounge was relatively easy to access, which was a plus considering the wifi was a whopping $12/day. Considering I was going to be out of the hotel for the majority of the day, it wasn't worth it, but it was an inconvenience.
The restaurant also gets props- tried sweet potato fries here for the first time as a featured app with honey and bleu cheese and have become a lifelong fan. Rest of my meal was okay, and I recall some difficulty ordering wine while dining solo, but overall was quite pleased with this hotel and will try to book here in the future if necessary.
Check in was a huge hassle with a 45-minute wait due to the large group coming in for the CAST conference, but all of our rooms received a coupon for discounts at the hotel restaurant, and check out procedure was the speediest I've seen in contrast- literally no line, kept my luggage til the end of the day with no hassle, very polite and peppy staff. -

After just a few hours in my room I had an inkling that this hotel was a dirty one and after four nights I am swearing it off, I will not return.
A few hours into my stay I noticed a hair on a "fresh" towel. Hoping that his was just a fluke, I carried on. However, throughout my five day stay the Sheraton managed to forget to clean my room on the first day and did a sub-par cleaning job the remaining days (did not wipe the bathroom counters and it seemed like they did not vacuum either).
ALSO, although the hotel gym appears to be clean and updated...take a close look at the red gym mat next to the resistance bands and yoga balls. After a series of exercises on the mat I could see and smell that it hadn't been cleaned in weeks... maybe months! EW. -

Huge hotel. A bit confusing at first with the elevators ...north tower, south tower & Central tower. Have to get on the right elevator since each one goes to a different set of floors.
Hallways smell musty...got use to the smell after a day.
Rooms are big and have flat screen TVs, coffee in the room is very good too. But, my bath tub would not drain and had about 6 inches of water while I showered. Maintenance guy came to fix it...and it was fine for the rest of my stay.
Ask for a room with a nice view otherwise you will get a wall. Luckily my check in guy was kind enough to see my assigned room was the wall and switched me.
The bar restaurant food was just OK. The main restaurant was much better. They gave big portions and was better food than the bar restaurant. Sharing a lunch worked best! The bar and Bar tender were better at the main restaurant too. Much cozier and quieter as well.
As others mentioned...staff was friendly in every area of the hotel.
I did not feel warm and fuzzy in the hotel...not sure why...maybe first impression of the musty hallway smell...but it was okay for our large sales meeting. Several people in my group got rooms at the South Tower and apparently those rooms have not been renovated. Those rooms were compared to a cheap motel...horrible. Thank goodness I did not have to stay at that end of the hotel! YUCK! My room in North Tower was nice but the beds are cheap...what saved the beds was the bedding. The comforter was very nice...lots of pillows too. -
Review from Nyota W.
It's a large convention hotel which is great if you'd like to be able to run down to a meeting in 5 minutes flat without thinking of picking up a jacket. It's a bit of aistance from the airport, so be prepared to it back for the ride to the hotel if flying in. I found the staff to be super nice and accommodating during my stay.
I really like that they offer the option of skipping out on room cleaning services by replacing it with a $5 credit to one of the snack shops. Nice way to encourage a bit of green-ness on everyone's part. The walking proximity to a few restaurants makes it easy to venture out of the hotel one night as well. I have no complaints about this hotel and view it as a great hotel for meetings. -

The company I work for has used this hotel for meetings the past few years. The rooms are ordinary, the place is big. It's a bit older but not out of date. The conference area is huge.
The food this year at our event was much better this year than last. I also took the opportunity to use their gym. It's huge... maybe a dozen or so treadmills, and the same number of ellipticals with a weight lifting area.
Pleased and would come back.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Three stars is about right. Definitely not more.
Big hotel with lots of rooms. Valet parking is close to $30/day. Self-parking is about $20/day... give or take a couple of bucks.
Hallways are dreary. Rooms, while remodeled relatively recently, still look dated. It's just an older building -- as much refurbishing that you do -- you can't change that fact.
Nice pool deck. Very nice gym (for a hotel) with a lot of equipment and open space if you want to do body-weight exercises. Plenty of cardio equipment too.
Everyone seems nice enough. I was upgraded to an executive suite because I'm SPG Platinum. Clean, but not super clean. The bed isn't great. It's not a Heavenly Bed - that's for sure. It's a Sheraton though, not a Westin... I paid $110 per night that includes internet.
There's not much around the hotel either. Fortunately, I'm only here for a couple of nights. -

I stayed here for business and was rather happy with it.
The Good: Their service is prompt and friendly, the gym is big, moder, and clean, the rooms are nice, and location convenient.
The Bad: A lack of adequate lighting in the bathroom and terrible food. -
Review from Royal M.
I've stayed here a couple of times for conferences and everything about it seems to be just OK.
Overall hotel - borders between nice, and getting old and looking it.
Food - some meals were really good, some were below average. I've even had really good and really not good BBQ here, and this was two days in a row!
staff - about what you'd expect. they're friendly enough, but I never got the feeling they'd go the extra mile.
I would have no problem going back, and would recommend this hotel to others. It just is what it is. And a high end resort it is not. -

We used priceline to get a cheap hotel in downtown Dallas to utilize after a Christmas party since well, you know how Christmas parties can be. $65 got us a stay at the Sheraton - we were impressed. Once there, the hubs managed to charm the front desk lady to waive our parking fee (otherwise the parking is upwards of $25) so we really lucked out on that!
The building has obviously been updated pretty recently, everything is clean and modern. Our room was beautiful but we ended up with two queen beds instead of the requested king because one of the towers was closed due to low occupancy. Our bathroom needed a bit more cleaning, which was our only complaint but it was taken care of quickly and graciously.
You could tell they were a little understaffed due to the holidays, but everyone was kind and took care of us during our stay. We would certainly stay again for $65! -

Overall my friends and I had a good stay, for the very large and busy Margarita Ball weekend. I suppose our issues were only due to the busy party and abundance of people however, the issues were not solved until multiple calls and interactions with hotel staff took place. First, there are no refrigerators available in the hotel rooms, although it was assured to be there. Second, $20 for a bucket of ice and $1 an EMPTY champagne flute is ridiculous. Third when the sheets are dirty upon arrival it needs to be address ASAP. All of these issue took multiple calls and interactions to be addressed, being with a large party I didn't think it needed to even happen but, nevertheless it was a challenge to get what I consider basic accommodations.
Aside from the dirty bed sheets the room was clean but small. Parking was difficult and expensive $21 for self park in a garage across the street, and elevator service was very slow. -

A nice place but no 4 star.. Staff seems to be great.. The view from the north tower is awesome.
The problem is our two queen beds when we requested a king.. But that was cool too.. The bed was miserable/ the sheets were like 150 thread count and the pillows were terrible. Thankfully we had our own beds, sleeping next to each other with these sheets and a queen size bed would have been very difficult. and parking is $21 to park your self in a more than half empty parking garage -
Review from Eva Y.
I stayed here for a business trip and the rooms are really nice. The sheets and bed were comfy and the view was decent. The only down side was that parking is not free. Other than that, friendly service and things are pretty typical on the amenity side of things.
Would stay here again and will need to remind housekeeping to keep track of their towel replacement practices. -
Review from Cecilia C.

I just came back from staying there for almost a week. It was a nice hotel, but nothing special.
Pluses: good location, a short walk to good restaurants, etc. , and service was good. They have a "green program" where you can opt to not have housekeeping service daily, and they will give you rewards points on their SPG program. I like that so I did it to get the points. The room was ok, but no phone books in the entire hotel, if you need to look for a place in the privacy of your room -I didn't like that.
Everything worked in the room, and I got extra towels when wanted.
The best part was probably the catered food (lunches) in the hotel - it was EXCELLENT. One day we had a variety of Mexican food which was heavenly, and the desserts were especially good, including tres leches cake, and one day we had more southern style food with pecan pie with a bourbon caramel sauce - heavenly! I had so many helpings of dessert, and I didnt care, it was worth it!
The check in and out staff was friendly and helpful.
Minuses: the food in the restaurant (one only) is pricey, but very good.
The lobby area is ok, but the registration area had low ceiling that was aesthetically ugly. I hate low ceilings! Also the bathroom sinks were small, not all acrossbu a small section - not enough space for a woman and her stuff!
Other than that it was ok, and the price was good for the room you get. Big tv's, and everything worked. Plenty of lamps around with good lighting.
I suggest staying on an upper floor to avoid some moderate street noise from the train/tram early in the morning. -
Review from Tyler R.
Despite this Sheraton's comparatively impressive vertical largeness, the rooms were a lot smaller than I thought they would be. We stayed on the 26th floor (of 28) in the south tower and had a view of...well, another building.
The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was decent, but it was kind of outdated and the a/c took forever to really kick in.
On the plus side, the bellhops / concierge were extremely nice and readily available, even at 10pm when we checked in. Parking was a bummer at $21 per car (self parking, valet was $26), which is something I am used to in New York and Boston, but much less in Dallas. I was a little thrown but I dealt with it.
Overall, it was ok. There was no time to check out the amenities / eat in the restaurant; I had a 7am flight out of DFW the following morning. I can only confirm that they do exist in some form.
We got it on Hotwire for $68, so it was definitely worth what we paid, but if you paid the normal rate you might not be as happy with your stay.Listed in: Hotel Life

***HOTEL WITH UP-SCALE FACILITIES BUT POOR SERVICE***
PROS:
- centrally located
- views
- excellent gym on 4th floor
- on-site business center, restaurant, and lounge
CONS:
- no outside delivery of food to rooms
- I asked for bandages and ointment from housekeeping but did not receive any
- concierge was not friendly or knowledgeable about area
- $19 breakfast buffet was over-priced and a poor value
- NO WIFI. It's 2011. Who charges over $20 for WIFI? This place does.
If you're willing to drop this much money, then you may as well stay at one of the many other hotels in the same class nearby. Skip this one. -

I am staying here for a convention this weekend with my daughter. Our check in went very smooth - but when I made our reservation it was for two queen size beds and we ended up with one king. In our case - it wasn't a big deal as it is just me and my daughter. But, many other parents in the group had a similar experience and the accomodations wouldn't work for them so their kids ended up sleeping on cots. The hotel refused any sort of discounts for this.
A couple hours after we checked in the lobby filled with tons of kids some for our convention and others from another convention. As the day turned to evening the crowd got worse and worse. People were camping out in the common areas with their luggage. It was even hard to get thru the hallways to get my daughter to her rehearsals on time through the chaos. I came to find out that the hotel was ill prepared and did not have rooms ready. These were two planned conventions and this is how they were handled? Even as late as 10pm the common areas were filled with children, their chaperones, and their luggage. I really felt for the kids as they had meetings and events to be at. In some cases - they had a chaperone watch the luggage while they went in to their meetings. Poor kids! I know the group my daughter is here with has a very tight grueling schedule so to not have a room.....
This morning we went downstairs for breakfast. The restaraunt itself was not crowded but again - add to that the hotel knew there would be two conventions going on - and there was not even a hostess for the hostess stand. Barely half of the restaraunt was full but each group waited anywhere from 5-15 minutes to get in to eat.
It's inexcuseable for a hotel and convention center to not be prepared for conventions!
Our room was clean and comfortable. I had to pay extra for interenet access in my room and it is horrible - it keeps locking up every 10-15 minutes and I have to reconnect. The staff has been friendly. So, those are all of the plus and minuses of my stay! -

I can't rate this hotel too well because for a 4 star establishment, I didn't feel they were too hospitable. No microwave or refrigerator in the room, no phone book even. You can have aforementioned microwave or fridge for $20 a pop each. No wifi, and if you want internet it will cost you a pretty penny.
The location was ok considering they are in walking distance of the Main Street district, the free trolley to Uptown, and right next to the Dart trains. That was their saving grace. Besides that, downtown Dallas is a ghost town of construction, empty buildings, and strange park plaza spaces. On the weekends everything closes at like 3pm.
I wouldn't choose to stay here at Sheraton again. -

Howdy Dallas! I've had to live out of a suitcase at this hotel and I did not mind at all.
Pros:
+ Super helpful/friendly front desk
+ Very informative concierge (helped us find an awesome restaurant just a couple blocks away.
+ Fully stocked hotel bathroom! (Nail filer, cotton balls, Qtips)
+ Lots of elevators
+ On-call taxi service in SUVs
+ Room service fast and efficient with smiles for miles
+ Clean bathrooms in meeting areas (I felt like royalty)
+ Big souvenir shop
I was here for a conference and although it was really crowded the comfortable rooms made for a nice escape. I'd come back for sure.Listed in: Travel Go-Tos

I can't speak to the rooms in the other towers, and I heard quite the opposite from others staying in the south tower, but my king bed room in the north tower was really nice. I love the pillows and I really love the fact that they give you 500 SPG points for every day you refuse housekeeping. (I sure wish Marriott would do that since I stay there more often!)
We had a large conference here right in the middle of The Month of Mary Kay and still got gold star service from the hotel employees. Housemen were always nearby and ready to help if we need it, and the banquets/kitchen staff were on top of accommodating my gluten intolerance in our daily meals.
And that gym? Good heavens, it's nicer than the Gold's Gym I go to here in Austin, and had significantly nicer and newer equipment. I love the section set aside off for yoga and pilates as well.
The internet situation totally blows. -

OK I've stayed here twice in about six months. First time was in June when the weather was just stifling in Dallas. The front desk was helpful in check in and the room was decent for the price. Went to the pool and Holy Kids Our of Control Batman. No lifeguards either. Went back the next day and the kids were gone and it was pleasant. Wish they would have had a hot tub. Work out room is very nice - top notch actually.
Here was the negative on this trip. I went down to the business center and did some work, then went right up to my room for a 2 hour nap and woke up with these bites, like 5 of them on my legs. I called the front desk and said, "I don't know what to make of this but there's all the bites on my legs." They seemingly had a team up in my room in like 90 seconds, which sort of freaked me out. Guy explaining that they did have a bed bug scare the past year in one room and they take it VERY seriously. Well that freaked me out even more; however, the way this hotel handled it was crazy efficient. They had me out of that room and into a new penthouse suite like Flash Gordon. I was really impressed. Head of security came up to check on us,
Now with that said, seriously don't want to freak people out because they were NOT BED BUGS. They receded and went away in a few hours and I think they were just mosquito bites. I Google'd bed bugs images and that was not what they were whatsoever.
We stayed there again last weekend and it was equally nice at check in. The major issue was when I opened the door I got the immediate smell of cigarettes. Yuck! I called the front desk to report this and they said they would send someone to "spray" which I wasn't pleased with but I had a meeting to get to and left it at that. I called later and said the smell was still present and they offered to move to another room but was too tired and just stayed. BTW the smoke smell seemed to be coming from the vent near the door.
View from the 26th floor overlooking downtown Dallas was awesome! Set up my laptop to work with that wonderful view. House keeping was on the ball too.
Boarding pass machines in lobby are really sketchy. Both of them were down one day and the next one wasn't working and a line for the next. Third try I went through the whole dog and pony show at 5 am and it was out of paper so I needed to cancel out and go to the other. PITA.
Draft Sports Bar was OK. It was absolutely packed and we eventually got a bar rail seat. Server was absolutely terrible and unaccommodating. We had an issue and he said "Go talk to a mange." Really? OK I did. We asked him for a dessert menu and he said "we don't have any desserts" and walked away. Not cool and my wife was pissed because she had a dessert in this restaurant the prior visit. I flagged down this other female server and told her the dessert dilemma. She went and got a menu, took the order, went to the other restaurant to get it and delivered it to my wife. Wow! Nice going the extra mile. To bad the other Bozo couldn't represent.
Oh, the door guy was a bit of a jerk. I had a friend pick me up and drop me from the airport. We were going to go in and settle our bags and then go out. Asked the guy if he could park there for 20-30 minutes and he said across the street for 30 bucks. I was like "Dude I don't want to pay $30 for 20 minutes" and he sort of shrugged and looked away. Jerk.
Overall, I liked the hotel and it's accommodations and the price was right for me. Somewhat rough around the service edges but I'll be back. -
Review from Martha R.
This place has got some issues that keep it from being a good place to stay in Downtown Dallas. First, the doors slam and the toilet flushes so loudly that both can wake you from a deep sleep. I'm guessing that I can hear the toilet 3 rooms away flushing, not that I really checked that out. The place is not very well run - when it's check-in time, you better plan to spend some time waiting. The options for drinking/eating are just average... and that's a problem considering the neighborhood. There aren't very many options w/in walking distance... so it would have been nice to have the option to stay in the hotel for a decent meal.
The trash cans are super tiny - how the heck am I supposed to keep my beer on ice in those tiny little things?? It would have been nicer to have a little fridge, but without that, a bigger trash can could have helped me keep more than 4 beers cold. What gives?
The WiFi isn't free... and that's another irritating thing about the "4-star" hotels. I don't understand why the places that are cheap offer free WiFi, while the expensive places charge. How about just charging everyone an extra $5 and then provide the WiFi? So lame. Especially considering that they want to charge $30/day. WTF? Same goes for the parking...
On the flip side, the beds were comfortable, and the workout room was very nice. The pool was pretty too, but you don't get much in the way of afternoon sun since the buildings put the block on that. Additionally, they don't heat the pool - so in mid-May that thing is pretty darn cold.
My favorite part (heavy sarcasm) about the stay was carrying my heavy bags (wine + beer = heavy) to my room (on the 20th floor via the elevator, but still) and having keys that didn't work. So totally awesome (continue with the sarcasm). Especially considering the huge line at the registration desk. Thankfully one of the engineers in the hotel actually helped me out by going to the registration desk for me. Best way to start the weekend? Not really. Fun weekend anyway? But of course. But not really because of anything that the Sheraton did. -

Not sure about wi-fi, as I had free hi-speed, complimentary for SPG Platinum members.
I arrived in the middle of the Mary Kay conference (not sure what that is), and was checked in by a girl at the counter that I thought was named Mary Kay. Hey, I'm new in the US, not sure what this business is about, and the girl sure looked like a Mary Kay to me. Confusion notwithstanding, her attitude was great. "Mary Kay" was helpful and attentive, and helped me with all my queries with a big, bright smile.
Besides "Mary Kay", service was mixed. Some are friendly, some are not. There doesn't seem to be a clear directive from the management. Maybe some corporate training is in order.
Facilities are comprehensive. Gym is well-equipped and spacious, pool has sufficient room for comfort, although that might be cos I was there over the weekend and all the business travellers had gone out.
The lounge on the 27th (?) floor was staffed by a very matronly lady. As the lounge was quite empty at that time, she was quite happy to give me some tips on where to go and what to do in downtown Dallas. Unfortunately, I forgot her name and forgot to leave her a tip too. Go up and say hi if you're an SPG member. I forgot which classification of membership allows you access, so just check. They've got coffee, fresh food at all times and nice LCD tvs to chill out to.
Housekeeping is a little strange. Maybe it was due to a shortage of staff, but I kept seeing bags of trash lying around on the corridor as I went in and out of my room.
I came in to attend a concert, so wasn't in my room that very much, which was a pity, considering that they put me in a nice executive suite on a high floor. Room was quiet (probably cos it was large). Bathroom was well-equiped and had what it needed to have. Bed was nice and comfy. From my experiences, it's all good. No complaints at all. -

Aren't Sheratons supposed to be nice?
We were here back in January forna conference. Really, one of the worst experiences of a hotelnthat inhave had.
Check in process was easy and thenfront desk was friendly. But it pretty much ends there. Evrything is an expense. I had an employee with me and we were sharing a room and only had one vehicle. At the end of the trip, we had racked up and extra $30.00 in parking. Apparently, they charge for who veers room key is usednto come in and out. (failed to warn us about that!)
Then ton the experience with the room. The wired internet connection was not working, the tv was not working and they took 12 hours for someone to come and get this fixed.
The next day, a couple of floors and the elevator tower lost power! Thought you could get a hotel this large to fix it quick? Ha! 30 hours later and the powernwas NEVER restored. Made things a little difficult to get around and you had to walk what felt like a mile to and from the elevators to get around.
I cannot begin to imagine how a chain this large, with as many guests, was unable to immediately correct these issues.
I made the recommendation that we do not hold the conference there again next year!
Be prepared to be nickel and dimmed for every service you want.
Notable experience, the frustrated maintenance guy that was trying to fix the TV issue had us a bucket of beer 30 minutes after hearing our story... -

I am giving this hotel five stars simply because we were able to bring our dog. Super cool to have your pup cruising around with you in a nice hotel - he was a huge hit.
We stayed here for the Sigma Chi Grand Chapter event and I was very pleased overall. Sure parking is expensive, but I expected that in downtown Dallas (note is was def not $30 if you went through the hotel). check in and out was easy, only about a 5 minute wait despite the crowds for the special events. The hotel was huge but easy to navigate. We had our room in one tower and then events throughout the hotel. We only attended a reception or two, but both were nice, with good apps, food, and drink provided by the hotel.
We spent part of an evening in the sports bar onsite and had fun (a bustling place with loads of tvs), and also had a pre-party beverage twice in the hotel lounge. Props for serving complimentary smoked almonds - my favorite. Fancy cocktails were like $8, but very tasty and very strong.
Food options onsite are room service, the sports bar, a restaurant, Peet's coffee, or a frozen yogurt place - which I think is reasonable. Also, you are a short walk to the Lily pad Cafe at Main Street Garden (highly recommended).
The room was nice, spacious with a two beds and a nice working/desk area (our wifi was free btw?), big bathroom, so-so TV, but most importantly - comfortable bed, A/C that got super cold, blackout curtains, and Starbucks coffee. Score. -
Review from Megan M.

This hotel is such an anomaly to me. A high point is usually followed by a low point. I've stayed at this hotel three years in a row now for the Margarita Ball Event. If you are not familiar with this event, it is a huge charity party the usually sells out the entire hotel (just to set the tone of my stay).
Each year had it's own quirks. The first year I remember being pleasantly surprised by the condition of the rooms. They were nice. Small, but nice. Nothing particularly memorable happened on this stay so I would have probably rated it higher back then.
The second year my boyfriend had achieved SPG status so he was excited to possibly get upgraded. When he called to book the reservation a few days in advance the reservation agent told him there were plenty of suites available still and his chances were good. upon checking in I handed the reservation agent his status card and asked about a possible upgrade. She frankly informed me it would be $150 to upgrade. I again pointed out that he had status. She looked annoyed, but left to go talk to someone else about it. When she returned she said we got a junior suite. Obviously this was nice, but it would have been so much nicer if this had happened out of recognition of our loyalty to Starwood and not a request met with annoyance.
This particular year I was also alerted to the fact that they charge you $20 a day to self park. This is ridiculous for so many reasons. The first being this is Dallas and not New York. No matter what you try to convince me of, parking is not in short supply in Downtown Dallas. Secondly the garage is a maze of levels, elevators and small spots. There are also three different towers in the hotel with a few different garages, so you could possibly end up parking no where near your room. Regardless, $20 for the pleasure of parking your own car and then lugging your own luggage up to you room is outrageous.
Anyway, Yesterday was our third time attending the event and I was shocked to discover the checking in process looked like a mess. We arrived at 4 and the line to check in was out the door! There had to have been 300 people in line. They did have an SPG line open so I was grateful we only had to wait about 20 minutes as opposed to the hours the other line would have taken. I find it hard to believe though there isn't a more efficient way of checking in mass amounts of people. Especially since this was planned and expected.
Interestingly enough my boyfriend checked on the possibility of an upgrade the day before we arrived and we were informed they were completely sold out. Upon checking in were were given an executive suite no questions asked. This was what made me want to write a review in in the first place. On the whole i had been underwhelmed and disappointed on previous stays, but this was so unexpectedly nice I was shocked! The room was huge and furnishings very nice! I do wish there had been a refrigerator though. Apparently none of the rooms have refrigerators. Also, we discovered this hotel is dog friendly! We brought our dog and everything went smoothly.
The anomaly comes into play when I discovered I did not have hairspray and rang down to guest services to ask if they had any I was informed very rudely they did not. Okay. That's fine, but the woman's tone was extremely condescending. The rest of the stay went smoothly. We didn't have any other staff interactions except for an elevator ride with a very nice bell boy.
All in all I just leave this place confused and on sit somewhere in the middle on how to rate it. Nice rooms, somewhat small, but massive hotel overall. Some nice staff and some very rude staff. I think it's a little expensive for a Sheraton. Another Starwood luxury collection hotel called The Joule is just down the street and almost the same price.
I guessing this is just one of those hotels where some people have good stays and some people have bad stays due to the inconsistencies I have received from staff. If you are considering, let's just hope you fall in the first category. -

Now, I didn't come to this hotel for business or for a conference. I'm here trying out a new area of downtown Dallas and my first impression is that I made a mistake...because I feel like I'm in a middle of a conference with all the people here carrying their binders and work bags. So, I've given this hotel two stars but this is in light of why I'm staying here and how it does and does not line up with that. Anyhoo...
The design and decor of the hotel is pretty nice and somewhat unique. It's something that I can appreciate but it's also on a large scale because this is a LARGE hotel. Cozy isn't this hotel's greatest strength but they do try at it. They have a sports bar area and a separate restaurant....thank you for setting those apart! They also have a yogurt shop and a cafe onsite (Pete's). I ordered the simple chicken melt and it was a simply good sandwich, nothin to write home about. The prices are though...and itll be a bitchy sounding letter too. $15 for a bowl of oatmeal via room service? Uh what? Dumb Dumb give me some gum gum! On a similar note, the restaurant has some unfortunate cafeteria like lighting. The bar area is okay but not the restaurant. Again, good decor but they need to make some minor adjustments.
The rooms seem pretty cool. Stayed in the King Jr. Suite and it was pretty spacious. A little tight in the bathroom but it's manageable. In my room they have a frig and sink (me likey) which came in handy. Other than this, there's not a ton of stuff within a short walking distance. Samar is down the street, which I recommend. Other than that I didn't see too much. Again, for what I came to do (hang out and visit family) this isn't the greatest. But good if you're doing business. Oh, and the inernet is 12 for 24 hours. But it's free in the not so cozy cafe or bar area. Again, if you're doing work it's probably cozy enough. If you're on vacation, it's so so. -

Sheraton Dallas is conveniently located right in Downtown Dallas. This place is an enormous hotel - it has huge ballrooms and convention services as well. I have participated in those and things were great but this is for my recent weekend stay.
Room: spacious, large flat-screen HDTV, decent view (of a parking lot hehe), big bathroom with plenty of room in the shower and sink area. Sink and shower in the same room so you can't get ready at the same time. Complimentary bottled water. Coffee maker. Hair dryer. Shitty ironing board - like one of those little table top ones....so don't come here having to iron something very well because it ain't gonna be easy. Expensive ass wi-fi but that's par for the course right? Could have really been pleased with a mini-fridge to keep my Rockstar Energy and beer cold.
Lobby: huge lobby areas that were really nice and modern. Sports bar (Draft) in lobby. Keep in mind it closes early on weekends for some stupid reason so don't think you are going to stop in for a nightcap. Denied!
Other: quick valet, tons of people working front desk, people stationed all through the lobby asking if they can assist you, tons of elevators so you almost never have to wait.
HOWEVER the problem was with the cleaning crew. We didn't have maid service throughout the entire weekend. Thursday-Sunday with no maid, no new towels, no trash empty, nothing. We asked at the front desk upon leaving on Saturday if they could stop by and leave some clean items (towels, etc). No clean towels. Bed not made. Clean sheets THROWN ON THE FLOOR BESIDE THE BED. Like for real? You took the time to come in and just threw the sheets down and didn't make the bed? Did you look in the bathroom and see there were literally NO CLEAN TOWELS and the trashcan was overflowing??? What kind of moron does this? MINUS STARS FOR YOU!!! Not to mention that the front desk person gave the Dallas BF the Spanish Inquisition when he complained about this and acted skeptical that this is how it happened. I'm here to tell you, that's how it happened. And we all know I'm pretty trustworthy...most of the time...anyway...whatever.
So overall the hotel is definitely cool and I would give it a total 4 star at least. But because of the crappy maid service (and by that I mean NO maid service) and the attitude given when trying to rectify the situation, I say 2 stars for you Sheraton. Work on your customer service. And now I know where NOT to stay next time I come visit Dallas. -

I stayed here for a conference and found quite a few things not so great about it.
1. Keycard are very sensitive. I have never hard problems which required my card to be rekeyed but this happened more than 8 times between the other 2 occupants of the room. Once we got it rekeyed and it didn't work when we went back up.
2. Had to tell the cleaning service to clean the room, since no one came do this twice. Once they came when we were there and she complained about having to do it.
3. Called for a sewing kit, didn't get one.
4. Only one runner at night to bring things. Probably okay when the hotel is not very full, but the hotel was booked 95-100% for conferences.
5. Internet is expensive.
6. Computer system couldn't divide the cost correctly between the occupant of the room. Took over 30 minutes to fix when I was checking out.
and probably a few others that I've forgotten. Overall not so great, but not so bad at the same time. -

Two thumbs up for the gentlemen in the business office! You do not usually expect much service unless renting a computer or paying exorbitant charges, but I was pressed for time and the man working there was able to email me several documents that a coworker had on a thumb-drive.
The concierge was not the best, but that is one of those things that can change as the staff comes and goes. Luckily I have a co-worker that was local and knew all about the area and where to eat with groups.
So, anyways, nice enough. I would return. -

My experience was very mixed, but I will never go back because of the bad service I got from a manager and accounting person when I had billing trouble, not to mention the billing trouble to start with. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE MANAGEMENT LEVEL. In a nutshell, here's what happened:
1. My stay was pre-paid by a third party.
2. The hotel had no record of the pre-pay so put a large hold on my personal credit card.
3. When I later obtained and showed the hotel a receipt for the pre-pay, it took many conversations with a manager and the accounting department to figure it out.
4. The hold wasn't released on my card until my bank intervened, despite the fact that someone else's card was charged 2 weeks earlier.
5. NO ONE AT THE SHERATON EVER APOLOGIZED FOR THE TROUBLE!!!
My stay was for a meeting with an organization who paid for my stay. They pre-paid the stay with a credit card. When I checked in, the hotel had no record of the pre-pay, so I assumed someone had forgotten to take care of it. I had to give my own card, on which the hotel placed a $450 hold. Then I found out the company HAD indeed pre-paid. When I showed a receipt to a manager, he said he needed someone on the company end to confirm with a form, which he would email. While the email recipient waited for the email before going to a meeting, the manager took about half an hour to send it, and when he did, it required information she did not have, despite his assurance to me that she simply had to respond "OK," essentially. The next morning, the travel agency who made the reservation talked to someone at the hotel and took care of it before my check out. Except that the hotel kept the $450 hold on my card! I had to have my bank spend half an hour on the phone with various people at the Sheraton to get that taken care of! And no one, not once, ever apologized for the trouble this had caused to me and the entity sponsoring my stay. Even the kind woman at my bank commented on the attitude everyone she spoke with at the Sheraton seemed to have -- it seemed they didn't really care, she said.
That being said, rooms were fine, dining options good, gym great, other service was mostly good. Location is not great, as you have to walk several blocks to get to an area of stores and restaurants. -

This is a somewhat generous 3 star review. First the good:
The gym is excellent....20 treadmills and a regular weight room with machines and free weights. The staff is decent, especially the bar staff. The people mean well, and the rooms are OK.
However, my personal experience leaves room for improvement. Checked in on a Wednesday and noticed the thermostat was hanging off the wall. Called engineering, and a nice guy fixed the hanging, but not the thermostat, so I boiled in a 80 plus degree room
Called front desk to solve the problem on Thursday and Friday for help that never arrived. Asked the room service guy who said he would send engineering asap....Asap must have been two days later after checkout
But it is more bizarre. I sent a general tweet out about my seemingly hopeless situation and was responded by no less than three different agencies of Sheraton saying they will intervene to help. That's very impressive social media outreach
But it doesn't solve the issue....The issue was never fixed, but these things happen on occasion.....one time is OK, two times is a trend...
Align your media process with actual people, so actual problems disappear. Then you will have 5 star reviews -

Ok. I admit that I am a Platinum Starwood Preferred Geek. My name is Marc and I will stay in a hotel just to get points/status. However, I doubt I will ever stay in This Starwood property again. There are far better Starwood properties within walking distance (The Joule).
For those who don't know, this hotel was originally the HQ for Southland/7-11 corporation. Somehow, they managed to turn these office buildings into hotel rooms, albeit badly.
As a platinum guest, I was upgraded to a Jr Suite in the South Tower (623). The bathroom was smaller than other rooms . The AC did not work. And I heard the elevator all night long. There is a club lounge on 28th floor, but it was a joke: they were understocked with food and the service staff was wacky.
The hotel has tried to update common areas to be the "hip Sheraton", but the rest of the place screams 80's/70's. -

I stayed here for a recent work conference and had a terrible experience. My room was in the renovated North Tower, but I found crumbled and missing bathroom tiles, torn carpet and... worst of all... bed bugs.
On the second night of my four night stay, I noticed small red bumps on my arm. The next day I had tons of itchy red bed bug bites on my arms and stomach. Ugggggghhh. I contacted the hotel to notify them and super-washed everything in my suitcase.
Housekeeping is obviously lacking - two days out of the four, I didn't receive any washcloths and the bath towels I put on the floor to be replaced were folded and rehung (damp towels were the tip-off). I finally left a note with an extra tip asking for washcloths -- arrived back in the room to find the tip gone and no washcloths. Nice.
Beyond the rooms, the food and service are average. The meeting space seemed okay. Downtown Dallas isn't the best location, but at least some nicer parts of town are a quick cab ride away. Leave yourself 30 minutes to go to and from the airport.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you stay here, check for bed bugs. -

This Sheraton appears to be recently rennovated. It is actually really nice, especially the lobby. However, there seems to be hiccups in the way they run their establishment. Initially, then I tried to take a shower, the hot water took a really long time to warm up. Subsequently, the next couple of showers, it was warm instantaneously so I was happy then.
The rooms are nice and big, Texas style of course. The WiFi is free so that's wonderful. The parking is $19 a day, so that's pretty steep. Also, it was kind of annoying that the room key initially did not work to open the parking gate. However, after they fixed the issue, it then worked.
The gym ammenities are very nice. It was great to workout in their gym because it had so many newer machines. The pool was being rennovated, but then it was raining so that didn't matter. All in all, the rooms and lobby are nice, but the hiccups are quite minor indeed.
Oh, the best thing is that instead of paying the absorbent amount of money for food in the lobby, you can use the pedestrian bridge and walk over to Plazas of the Americas' food court for some fast food including Corner Bakery too. The pedestrian bridge is located on the 2nd floor. Head north and then head east on the connecting bridge. :) The food court is open from 7am to 4pm. -

The timing could not have been any better. We booked a company event to coincide with a Mary Kay convention. Let the craziness begin.
Upon arrival, I expected all out chaos and prepared myself for a long wait at the check in desk. But instead walked in and found a fully staffed and friendly customer service people with no wait at all. No crazy, just quiet, calm, peaceful people who quickly and efficiently showed me the way to the 33rd floor.
This hotel which is rated at only 3 stars by others is the only surprise that I found. I've had the pleasure of being here twice over the past six weeks and love this hotel. It's right in the heart of downtown and convenient to many restaurants, bars and Deep Ellum is just a quick cab ride away. And if you are one of those who belong to "I hate Starbucks" club, there is a Peets right downstairs.
The rooms are updated and modern and include all the amenities that one would expect from a 4 star hotel. The beds are comfortable and quiet which makes for a nice place to get some rest after a long day of meetings and more meetings.
The lobby is spacious and comfortable with plenty of hidden spots to sit and relax. The business center is one of the larger centers I have ever seen and includes many services you do not find at other chain hotels. There is a free self service kiosk in the lobby where you can do everything from check in or out to print your boarding pass.
If you are looking for a place to handle a large corporate event, or just need a room for a night in town. You need not look any further than the Sheraton. -

Let me preface this with I stayed at this hotel due to the conference I was attending. I am sure the occupancy level of this hotel was high during this time.
Check in process - easy enough, they recognized me as a Starwood member. Pleasant enough.
Finding elevator - not so easy. They have multiple towers. I was in the South Tower. It is like in Vegas ... you have to walk a while to get to the elevators. But once you find the elevators - they are FAST! I never had to wait long to get an elevator and the elevators were never crowded.
Room - Because this is where I spend my time in the hotel, I have to give this a 2 star. Now, I believe this hotel is being refurbished. I was hard pressed to tell if this room had been done or not. I would NOT recommend this hotel for families due to the size of the rooms. For me, it was small and it was just me. And by small, I mean, the toilet, half a counter, sink and bath tub were all crammed into this tiny bathroom. Seriously, the toilet was like one you would have in older restrooms - tankless - just the metal lever on the base. The sink was small and attached right to the tub. Seriously. Half the sink area butted up against the tub.
Wireless internet cost money in the room. In this day and age is absurd. The doors slam shut. You have to be very careful to have them not make a lot of noise - very careful - which needless to say, most people are not careful and you hear a lot of slamming doors. The hotel is a 'green' hotel. In my translated language that means your room will never be cool enough. And it wasn't. It stayed a very humid temperature. Because it monitors whether someone is in the room in order for it to cool, everytime I got back to my room it wasn't very cool.
Restaurant - Kitchen table was good. Normal hotel costs.
Cleaning - not so much. The only thing I can see that they did when they cleaned my room was 1) make the bed and 2) replace towels. I had a big McDonald's cup in the bathroom from when I had arrived the prior day. Maybe 1/4 full - no ice, just left over tea. Did they throw it away? No. They didn't really do anything special in this department.
the best thing about the room was the bed and the bedding. Very nice quality. comfortable.
Would I stay here for kicks and pleasure? Not on your life. For a conference, it suffices in that everything is right there. -

I stayed at this hotel here a few months ago for a business trip and it was really nice. The room was very clean and the hotel had many conference areas where we had our meetings in all over the hotel. In the hotel lobby that have a few places to eat, which was great because it was so hot outside of the hotel.

There is really nothing fabulous about this hotel. At all. I tend to stay at moderately priced/borderline cheap hotels so as to respect my company's less than average travel policy. Think along the lines of....Best Western, La Quinta, Holiday Inn Express, etc.
So when I found a room at the Sheraton for such a good price I was thrilled. The only upside to this hotel stay is that (gasp!) my internet actually worked. Those of you who know me know how traumatic past experiences have been.
However...the restaurant...eh, not too good. The waiter was awesome and super responsive but the menu was extremely limited and nothing very eye-catching. The only thing on the menu that looked appealing was the margherita pizza which, to put it bluntly, was the worst margherita pizza I have ever had.
My air conditioning isn't really working. The buttons keep on sticking. The repair guy, Sammy, who was extremely nice and helpful, couldn't really solve the problem. He got the thermostat to my desired temp but said if I got too cold to just turn it off instead of adjusting the thermostat. Um...ok. Whatever. My desk lamp has a burnt out bulb = no light. Oh and the shower water never got all that hot. I was looking forward to a nice steamy shower until, well, it just never got all that hot.
I wouldn't stay here again. My over enthusiasm and excitement of staying at a better than average hotel has been quickly and assuredly thrashed to pieces.
