I've honestly never been a big fan of shawarma (or kebab, as I was first introduced to it). I never DISliked it, but it was never something that I would crave. It was always just okay, something filling and cheap and not terribly unhealthy. So when my friend suggested it, it was more a "meh" decision.
When we walked in, it was a typical fast food restaurant. Two teenage guys behind the counter, menu board above. I went for the chicken for $4.99, and my friend got the same with cheese for $5.49. Pretty decent prices! The guys working the counter and making the food were funny though, they teased my friend about her strange food preferences (can't stand tomato but yes to raw red onion?).
We took the food back to her place where we found one with "TOMATO" written on it, which I thought was an amusing way to show whose was whose. But when I bit into it...wow! The flavour was amazing. The chicken was moist, garlicky, and just delicious. And it was a good size portion too! Really my only minor complaint was that because it was so full, it was a little messy to eat. When it tastes this good though, I really don't care. Seriously - try this place!
