I never thought I would say the words "swanky and classy" and "sports bar" in the same sentence, but here it goes: Shark club is a swanky and classy sports bar. Wow.. that wasn't so hard.
I really loved the atmosphere of this place. We went here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and it was a really cool location. There are a ton of TVs, the waitresses are hot and the drinks are pricey. This is not your normal sports bar.
If you enjoy sports, but also care about being in a place that feels classy and glamorous, then Shark Club is for you. It has the feel of a cool lounge but with a ton of TVs to watch whatever game you'd like.
This would probably be a great place to watch the Stanley Cup Playoffs- I can only imagine that the mood would be wonderful no matter who is wining. -

This is the new Dante's. They were taken over by new owners, and I just don't like it as much anymore. I don't know why they bothered changing the name, for starters. There was great brand recognition with Dante's and nothing wrong with the place. "Shark Club" has a totally different feel and I expect it will alienate some people.
It's still a place that attracts an older crowd, but it doesn't feel as swank anymore. It has more of a "guy" feel to it, although the inside is basically unchanged. The crowd seems a little different, and there are more tv monitors up around the place. It was always a place to go watch the game and have wings, but now it seems more geared to that.
I haven't eaten here since the new membership took over, but I wonder if they will do as great a job of promoting the menu. Dante's really pushed their steak and seafood. I'd be more inclined to dine at a place called Dante's than Shark Club. -

I came into the Shark Club with a group of coworkers for Monday Night Football. I had a pretty good experience here. The food was pretty good & the drinks were flowin... There were a lot of TVs to catch a couple games (football, hockey).
Not being from the area, this place is pretty welcoming. The servers were attentive & fun. The crowd gets into the games. A DJ was spinning during the commercial breaks. No lie, he jumped on those 2-minute mashes really quickly.
Looking forward the the rest of my stay in Edmonton. -

Shark club is a nice place to watch a Game and have some drinks. It has TV's all over and it also has pretty good food.
It has a nice lounge environment and great people. Everyone was having a good time here and it was just a comfortable atmosphere. The service is prompt and friendly. It is a great place to start and end your night. You can catch the game and then dance on into the night if you wish.
I live so far from it but I would like to go more often. -

One of my favourite places to come and watch the game. Located in the old Dante's, they've completely re-done the place and are opening a club I believe to the side of the pub this summer. In the pub side, they have TV's all over(even at the urinals) as well as a big screen to gaze upon. There are a few booths on either side of the pub as you walk in that have a screen to themselves which I always like sitting in for a little more privacy within your group. Inside it is dark and beautiful with a blue and black/silver theme to it that is very modern.
The crowd probably isn't as rowdy compared to other sports bars, but there are still cheers during the oilers games and the audio is piped into the establishment with music at the breaks. Waitresses are gorgeous and generally kind & fast. There have been a couple that were brutally slow, but I haven't seen them back so hopefully they've weeded them out.
As for the food; wings, beer, pizza are all fantastic. They have other pasta, rice bowls, soups & fish dishes as well, but to be honest I haven't had any of these because when I'm out for a game, I'm having a beer and some wings!
Overall I'm usually more than satisfied with the odd bump in with inadequate service, but more often than not I find myself coming back whenever I drive past. -

This is a fairly new place that took over Dante's spot on Stony Plain Road. I thought I'd check it out. The place is very black and grey filled with men in business suits. I just took a seat at the bar and had a couple of belini's which were on special that night. They did have a menu available but I'd already eaten so I didn't even look it over. There were lots of TVs all around the bar showing different sporting events. Attending on a weeknight I wasn't expecting it to be a hopping place but it seemed to be the kind of place businessmen go after work with their buddies.
