This park is beautiful! The waterfall is amazing and it's SO easy to access that I think everyone should see it - I just don't see any reason why. It's my understanding that there are trails that take you all the way up (I believe the sign for the trail said 2.5km distance and 550m elevation)
I made a quick stop here and didn't get to go all the way up but it's definitely worth seeing - let the nature take your breath away. -

I am a water baby... So just the sound of running water is soothing to me...
I came here when camping at Klahanie Campgroud just across the way from Shannon Park Falls. When sleeping at night, the sound of the falls was melodic :) And an amazing sight to see...
Shannon Park Falls is beautiful. See for yourself! -

I think this is the closest park to Vancouver on the Sea to Sky Highway. At least the one that feels far away enough to be completely out of Vancouver. Because of its easily accessible location, and the fact the park is adjacent to the parking lot, it is filled with LOTS of people in the summer. Even mid-May, on a sunny Saturday, the lot was full at 1pm.
Right next to the parking lot are some picnic tables. A very short hike takes you along the river (creek?) below the falls, and the falls itself are very high up above ground level. Very majestic in the spring, when the snow is melting, increasing the flow.
I've never been inside, but there is a small store which is open during the summer months. Portable washrooms are available in the winter; an actual building washroom in the summer.
The park is open year-round. Try coming in February when the creek below the river has a thin layer of ice on it! -

GO HERE! Amazing falls! Beats all the Hawaii waterfalls I've seen. It's huge and it gushes! You can get some pretty nice up close shots of it while not having a super strenuous hike (for those elders out there). There are a few other hiking trails all around, but that's for another trip.

Vancouver, BC
most people probably come here to have a picnic and take some pictures and walk around the park...
well, me and my friends are a little more adventurous... we dont really hang out down low...
we got to the base of the falls....took some touristy pictures..then hopped the fence..and up we scaled towards the falls.
that is what we do to have some fun around here!
i dont know if its allowed or not....we its not the first time its been done!!
if you have never tried it, i say, give it a try! it is SO worth it..the sights is absolutely breathtaking...and the hike up is easy and fun. we found a nice big flat boulder amongst the treetops with the falls by our heads and set up camp...and layed ourselves down to get our tan on. absolutely no one else around to bother you....its great.Listed in: HOT spots

Shannon Fall Provincial Park blew me away. The waterfall is so big and powerful and I could feel the mist a few hundred feet away. If you can clearly hear the waterfall, you're going to get wet even before seeing it. The waterfall is beautiful and it's very popular with locals and tourists. I was surprised by the number of trails in this Provincial Park and most of it involves going uphill to the falls. Even on the sunny warm day, I recommend getting a waterproof jacket and a waterproof camera is a must!
