I was entertaining out of town guests yesterday and took them to the Falls. While searching for something outside the touristy area to eat in, we happened on this little Chinese restaurant storefront.
Decor was minimal and the place was not busy, but we had an extremely pleasant dining experience. The food is Chinese Canadian with some authentic Shanghainese dishes. Shanghai wonton soup with greens and excellenlty flavoured wonton was a winner as were beef with green onions and ginger and spicy garlic shrimp.
The server, who we took to be the owner, is a very lovely and accommodating lady who seemed to know most of her local clientele by name. She is also a great bartender and made me a really mean zombie.
This is a nice little place to escape tourist trap Clifton Hill, has easy street parking and the prices are extremely modest.
