This place needs A LOT more recognition and business!!!
I have been here several times for eyebrow threading, and at $7 a pop, the price is unbeatable. I have had my brows done by several of the ladies, and every time they look spectacular, and let me tell you, I am very picky about my brows. I used to go to a much, much more expensive place in the city and this place is just as good for 1/5 the price. Yeah, the ambiance isn't as nice, but frankly, who cares? -

Allright, everybody. How can this place have such high rating?!! I'm so upset I trusted these reviews. And in I went, with almost perfect eyebrows that took a lot of effort to grow, and I only needed a small cleanup, so I could continue maintaipning the shape.
When the threading was over, I almost cried. I could not recognize myself, I looked like an evil witch!! My beautiful eyebrows were all but gone, and now I have two even thin lines. I'm so mad. It'll take me forever to grow my eyebrows back, to restore my natural shape. So if you want thin porn star eyebrows, that's the place for you. Everybody else, please stay away or else you might be sorry like I am. I hated this place and I will never ever be back. -

Don't wax your face! Especially not your brows! Wax pulls and tears at the tender skin around your eyes!
Really, please, stop it.
Threading to remove hair from the face is an ancient art; the threads allow an expert brow shaper to triangulate their shape via the threads to perfectly align the arch and frame your eyes beautifully. It gives you "polish", truly.

The best advice someone gave me about finding a good threader is to look for a salon that is run by women from South Asia or the Middle East and where everyone in the place has *perfect* eyebrows.
I also consulted Yelp.
Shaaz checked on each point.
Convenient to the subway, walk-in appointment no problem, Shaaz provided a thoughtful threader with skills. She noticed that one of my brows was over-arched (damn you 20-something-year-old-me with my clueless plucking) and offered me solutions to help correct it.
My brows look good. The price was *more than half* of what I paid in the States (even accounting for tip and round trip subway fare). 7 bucks?! Perfect.
If you are intimidated by beat-looking environs, are xenophobic, and/or have a deep need for all things bourgy, this is not for you. Otherwise, you'll rock out with well-threaded brows on the cheap.Listed in: Toronto Beauty List

I wandered in on a Saturday after reading the rave reviews on here. I was told to wait 'a little while' for an eyebrow threading. Long story short, it turned out they were short-staffed because someone was on vacation and someone was sick, but I can't believe that I ended up waiting an hour and a half. I had errands to run and really could have used the time to get stuff done and then come back.
That said, I'm glad I waited. My eyebrows are perfect and she consulted me along the way about how I wanted them, which bald spots she was going to leave so they could grow in, and what I was doing wrong with my tweezers (everything).
For 7 bucks, I'll definitely be back. But maybe not on a weekend. -

I've been going to Shaaz for a few months now and am regularly asked where I get my eyebrows done. I have often thought of sending people somewhere else so that I can keep it my little secret but that just wouldn't be right, now would it?
Trust me, if you walk by and this place is empty - GO IN! This is your chance to get in behind the wave of ten people that are about to walk in the door and happily wait for their turn...
edited: I should mention that I went into Shaaz the first time with unruly unkempt brows. It must have taken 30-45 minutes to shape them they were so bushy. I half expected to pay $20 for the original shaping but they only charged me their regular $7 fee. -

I have been going to Shaaz ever since i moved to Toronto few months ago. I saw the reviews on Yelp and decided to check it out. There are three ladies there that do eye brows. From the outside it doesnt look like a great salon would look but they do a great job with my eye brows and they have become friendly with me now that i have been going there for a while. No appointment needed which is nice ;I always get compliments on how my eye brows look. Like i said its not the cleanest salon but for $7 you can't go wrong.

Wow. I am surprised that this place hasn't been reviewed yet on Yelp.
If you are looking for getting the best eye brow shaping this is the place for you.
I am not sure about the other services but this place is a secret gem for eye brow threading.
I am horribly allergic to wax and therefore cannot get my brows waxed anywhere. Other places around Toronto charge an arm and a leg for threading and I have had trouble finding a place downtown that does this even.
The ladies at this place are all professional threaders and will do your brows in a jiffy and very well. They will also thread the rest of your face if you require. It will not cost you more than 15 dollars all included to get all your hair removal needs met.
Be prepared to see not the best looking salon environment and they ladies will not chat with you about useless drivel but they will do their job perfectly.Listed in: Beauty Goodies
