Bought my sewing machine here. Didn't care if it was old or new as long as it worked. They recommended an old Singer brand machine and since it's the brand my mother uses, I bought it. It was a mere $80.
They gave me a great deal and I asked for a quick sewing refresher as I haven't sewn in years. The lesson covered all the basics, turns out sewing is like riding a bike. I have shortened several curtains and made a few cushions. The thing runs well. -

Well, I can't give these guys points for marketing: the un-flashy store name, "Sewing Machine and Vacuum Centre", takes up much less space on the front sign than the logos of Singer and other related brands. It's reminiscent of variety stores where the name doesn't really matter, and all you remember is the Coke sign out front.
I'm not big on sewing myself, but even I lose a button every once and a while. And it's never a common button, either. This is where I go to hunt for a suitable replacement. They have an impressive selection of loose buttons and other related implements.Listed in: My Neighborhood
