This is my favorite pizza place that I've been to in the south side of SF.  I like it more than the competition because their pizza is a bit less greasy and has more emphasis on the crust which I think is often the most critical part of pizza.

They have a nice spicy sauce.

While the orders can take forever if you walk in, their ready within the time it takes me to drive there.

The slice prices seem high, but you basically get two slices for that price because they are so big. They have a good lunch special too where you can get a side salad, slice, and a drink for like 6 bucks.

    Yummy!

    Love the crust.

Pesto Delight is scrumptious and pairs so well with a glass of red wine.

I also like the Veggie and they'll make it vegan for you if you ask for no cheese.

When I've had visitors we've chosen several meaty ones and carnivores seem to love those just as well.

The pizza and the pricing aren't bad; but the promises on the delivery to address in the Mission (calling at 11:20 am, being told multiple pies, drinks and salads in aluminum trays will be there at 12:10 pm)---might leave you in the lurch.

Finally appeared at 12:49 pm, leaving everyone 11 minutes to eat and bolt.

It's 1.2 miles and 8 minutes according to Google maps...

Pies themselves were fine, if not Tony's Pizzeria---

But be careful about the delivery option

    Yes! Yumm! OOOhhhh, weeee!!!!!

One random Sunday I made my way over there.  Calling ahead my order I was greeted warmly with playful banter over what I should choose for my slice.  I ended up with one cheese, one peperoni-mushroom-anchovy concoction that made my mouth salivate.

After I ate, I was seriously in a food coma for an hour, not because I was stuffed, rather because I was WoWed with flavor.  The crust if freshly prepared for EACH slice, which is really two... and the oven and ingredients push this slice over the top!  Its a bit pricey for a 'slice', yet you definitely get more than that!

I've read the other reviews about bad service and can possibly see how, when busy, they might be short, however my experience was awesome.  Not a great place to sit or chill, as they have limited seating, however, why not enjoy the outside somewhere!?!?

Highly recommended on a lazy afternoon... I'm wary of busy times and have avoided it so.

We stopped in here after our commute home from the city wanting a pizza to take home and enjoy. I'm so glad we stopped in this no-nonsense pizza joint. The owner quickly realized we were new to the place and made fun recommendations when we asked what his favorite was. He told us on Tuesday it was one pizza but on Friday it was another, but for me it would be the California. Haha! We got half Hawaiian and half California. Yum! The crust was thick and delicious while still being crispy on the bottom. We enjoyed it for several nights! Thanks Serrano!

Best pizza delivery in the city hands down! The pizza has never been soggy, or cold upon delivery. The crust is that perfect balance between doughy and crispy. You feel like you're getting a great deal for the price. I love them and their ooey gooey cheesiness. Only thing I can say in the negative is to not expect a lot from their salads. They are very basic, nothin special, and you'll forget to eat it because you'll be full of delicious pizza.

Well, this is one of my favorite pizzeria in mission district. Their slices are huge, crispy and tasty. Half point minus--- their delivery time depends on when do you order it. I've figured out that from 8 to 10pm is the worst time to order.  Another half point minus---their pizza sauce is somewhat too salty to me, and I usually ask for serrano's sauce instead of that salty one. One tip for all the yelpers, don't microwave your leftovers, bake them in a pre-heated oven for 2-4 mins would make the leftovers as crispy as they were.

This place is bomb...stumbled upon it one night after hitting up what seemed like every bar in the mission dist. Great size slices for the price. I ordered 2 slices thinking they would be meidum size new york slices, those slices were huge. Place is nice n cozy, but not for big groups or to really eat in. More of a take on the go type of place. I was also pleasantly surprised, it is only 2 blocks from my new place. I def have to eat there once a week. Most likely on weekends, b/c there are only soo many bacon wrapped hotdogs one can eat before they get old.

Good pizza.  We were in the area and hungry on a Saturday night, and this place was open late.

Pizza is available "by the slice," but it's not ready-to-go (which we didn't realize until after we'd walked in).  Rather, ordering pizza by the slice is like getting your own triangle-shaped personal pizza made to order.  It take 10-15 minutes for them to ready your slice.

The price of a slice ranges from about $4.85-8.95 depending on what toppings you want.  They have a lot of suggestions for interesting combinations of toppings, or you can roll your own.  You can also order non-slicey pizza if you want.

Kind of salty, but pipng hot and generically good.  I'll have to come back to try their pizza with clams.

I can't stop eating this slice...  well, that sounds ridiculous right? How can you not finish a slice of pizza? Well, I just had dinner... the tasting menu and extras at Mr. Pollo. Yes, that's a must try. I digress. I must also point out that this slice looks to be about 2/3 the size of their small pizza. Starting at $4, it's huge! Now it's not just a deal of a slice, it's also damn good. Crispy thin crust pizza made to order (yes even the slice, it's pretty much your own pizza shaped like a triangular slice) with fresh ingredients and a kick of herb and spice.

This is not only a great late night pizza, it's a great anytime pizza. And do others agree? Sure there are these yelp reviews, but when I was waiting for my slice with the rest of the crowd the two phones WOULD NOT stop ringing. It's almost good enough to make a trip across the city for it. Just try it.

What a surprise! I've never been at this place and have heard some chatter about how marvelous it is, so I had to check it out.

I had parked at the garage across the street and was on my way to be a big lesbian at the Lex when I realized I hadn't ate all day. I ran inside the tight space and decided I'd go big and order two slices. Being used to Pizza My Heart and other somewhat underwhelming pizza places, I didn't think I'd be getting much. I was wrong.

He comes out with a box with what looks like half a pizza. I opted for a Coca-Cola in a can and totally managed to nom my way through the whole thing. All for under 9 bux. Normally, I'd probably eat half of this and save it for later. It was delicious, hot, fresh, and a bargain. I'll be back!

Huge slices for under $5 w/2 toppings. A big plus in my book is that they have pesto as a sauce option which wins big points. I haven't had pizza in over a month and this was the place that popped that cherry!! If I'm ever in the Mission, this will be on the radar!

The pizza here is great. I go for pizza by the slice; freshly made just for you.
One slice is more like two slices stuck together.

The place is very small. With limited seating, most people walk in get their pizza and walk out.
I really like that I can call in my order before I go.

I'd suggest a slice with Pesto, Feta, and Onion.

While this is one of the best slice pizza shops around, they forgot my order!  I called 30 mins ahead, showed up, and they said, "it'll be another 30 mins.  Didn't you just call?"  Me: "No, I called 30 mins ago!", checking my calls list on my phone.  She didn't even offer to rush it or put it ahead of the other pizzas in queue.

When she checked her order slips, I realized why she made the mistake.  She wrote down my order like 5 slips underneath the top one!  I might give them another shot, but I now realize that I'll have to continually call after I order in order to confirm that they're actually making my pizza.

I had a Salami Deep Dish pizza here, It wasn't what I was expecting, it was a flat style pizza, but it had a huge crust. However The Salami was incredibly tasty, and the pizza itself must have been laced with some sort of drug because it was amazingly delicious.

Cannot recommend the Salami Pizza more! Super awesome.

The closest I've found to a NY slice in the bay area. Yes, they are not quite triangular and take forever to prepare (call ahead as they cook each slice individually), but they get the important things right.  Namely, all the fundamentals have the right flavor--including the crust.  Too many pizza places worry about the toppings and ignore the basics.  The crust has the right chewiness and sweetness to make the whole package delicious.

San Francisco is obsessed with perfecting the Neapolitan pizza. Actually, more accurately, San Francisco is obsessed with adding their own unique twist to the classic recipe, instead creating variations that almost classify as the original but more closely resemble a close cousin. A16, Flour and Water, Ragazza, Delfina Pizzeria, Beretta, Una Pizza Napoletana, Tony's Pizza Napoletana, Zero Zero...the list goes on. It's so prolific that, other than a few, well-known deep-dish pizzerias I began thinking that this was practically the only non-chain type of pizza available in this city.

My problem is that, frankly, it's just not my favorite style of pizza. Yes, of course a panna and prosciutto pie can be magically delicious, and yes being presented with pizza menus that actually change depending on the season keeps things interesting. Hell, I've even been to Naples and had the real thing! And you know what? I just didn't understand what the craze is all about. I understand that the perfect Neapolitan pizza has a special place in the hearts of many SF inhabitants, but you know what I have to say? F*** Neapolitan pizza.

Sometimes I just want a big, thick, overly-mozzarella-cheesed, greasy slice of heaven. So you can imagine my excitement to find my very own neighborhood version of Round Table Pizza just around the corner from my house in the Mission.

Serrano's Pizza serves up just what I like: incomparable slices of hot, chewy, pepperoni-covered pizza large enough to feed a small family. Actually, a large is so large that I was able to feed two people a satisfying lunch and dinner for two days straight. Of course, those two days were so spectacular that I thought, "Why stop at just two?" and kept going for a full four days in a row.

    And no, I'm not ashamed.

Very good pizza-by-the-slice in the city--second best in the Mission; Arizmendi being the first.  AND for being able to order exactly what I want to eat on my slices, 15 minutes is not too long to wait, methinks.  Their eggplant + feta = what I get every. time.

I know there're a lot of awesome high end pizza places in town but this one is by far the only place we come when we feel like getting some pizza.

This small place is crazily busy.  The owner is constantly on the phone.

What we love about this place is that everything is just right.  Sometimes the pizza sauce and cheese can be over powering.  Not that we don't like cheese or pizza sauce.  They put just the right amount of cheese and pizza sauce to accompany the toppings and you don't feel overwhelmed afterwards.

The wait time can be a killer but all the pizzas are made fresh so it's worth the wait.

First off, this is based solely on the delivery. I've eaten here once but I've ordered dozens of times. It's one of the most consistent pizza delivery joints in the area, and I can always count on Serrano's delivery late at night.  The $8 minimum is pretty huge, too.

Decent pizza. Not great in my opinion, but It's good for a cheap pie in San Francisco. Traditional slightly sweet thin crust, fresh pizza sauce, good cheese and generous toppings. It has always been cooked perfectly for me, never too doughy or cold, and never overcooked and burnt. The "Deep Dish" is what I've always known as Stuffed Crust, usually when I think deep-dish I think chicago-style, but apparently around here It's thin crust with cheese-filled thick outer crust.

The pasta is pretty good as well, but some are very oily. The Green Ravioli is my usual - Raviolis filled with ricotta, mozzarella, spinach and herbs - with the pesto sauce. Usually the pesto is good and not too heavy, but rarely it can be very oily and a bit much.

My order has always gotten to me on time, they usually say 45-60 minutes, which is repeatedly accurate. Free, on-time delivery and excellent prices in addition to satisfying food and a convenient location make Serrano's an all-around excellent spot for a quick slice or late-night delivery.

I love Serrano's Pizza, it's pretty much exactly what I want every time I order, and the garlic cheesy bread has an excellent amount of garlic and cheese on it.

My husband and I usually order what we refer to as the "Matthew Pizza" because our friend, Matthew, introduced us to it.  It's a pizza with jalapenos, artichoke hearts, pineapple and bacon, and it's soooo good.

Serrano's doesn't skimp on the toppings, and the pizza re-heats really well in the microwave without getting super greasy.

Good price for good pizza. :)

Disappointed to find my full credit card number, expiration date AND security code handwritten on the order form and my full credit card number and expiration date printed on the receipt. Someone wrote a negative review and included poor parking as a variable for a slice joint in the Mission?  They must live on the Peninsula?  Oh!  They do...Guess the gigantic parking garage directly across the street (which is actually reasonably priced) needs to trim the hedges so the poster wont miss it next time?  Also...the fire hydrant on the corner is always open if you want to go outlaw style.

A money meal on the go everytime for me, pepperoni light on the mushrooms and black olives.  Cheap?  Yep.  Crust, sauce and cheese are solidly correct

This place does made-to-order slices. Sure, you have to wait several minutes to get your slice, but it's fresh and hasn't been sitting around for a while.

As a former New-Yorker, this place has got great New-York-style pizza. The crust has just the right "chew" to it and the tomato sauce is really flavorful.

Note that this place is a clone (in a good way) of Deja Vu Pizza on 16th @ Guerrero. Perhaps they have the same owner.

This is the only pizza place I order from. Other pizza places normally have a whole pizza sitting under a lamp and sell them by slices. Serrano's Pizza bakes each slice to order, fresh out of the oven. I always order a slice of San Franciscan with BBQ chicken as an extra topping, and it's a huge slice every time I order. The crust always stays the perfect texture, not too crispy, not too soft. Outstanding!

Because each slice is freshly made to order, it takes about 15 mins to get your pizza slice. If you don't have time to wait or don't wanna wait, call in your order over the phone and then go pick it up, since they do take phone orders. Serrano's is a small place, there are only 3 or 4 seats at the counter and the 1 table they have can fit 2 or 3 people. They also have a couple tables and seats outside.

If you love freshly-made slices of pizza, get your own fresh, delicious, scrumptious pizza from Serrano's Pizza.

One afternoon I was craving pizza, and I yelped around some places and asked a couple friends for recommendations in the Mission/Valencia area.

When my boyfriend and I walked in it felt like we were walking into an oven. It was kind of a warm day, but the place was tiny and the pizza ovens are a couple steps away from the counter. The menu is super large and behind the counter. I ordered the veggie slice since it had all of my favorite toppings.

The slice was huge, there were HELLA toppings, they were HELLA delicious, and it was HELLA cheap! So I will definitely be back on my next pizza crave.

Ordered delivery from Serrano's tonight, because not too many pizza places deliver to my area.  Most recently I had takeout from Goat Hill, and while it was delicious, I can't afford to spend quite that much on pizza all the time.

So I looked on GrubHub and found Serrano's.  An $8 minimum for free delivery??  Yes, please!  (Most other places it was at least $15, if not $25!)  I ordered a make-your-own deep dish pizza online, and the delivery estimate was about an hour, however, they showed up roughly 30 minutes earlier, YAY!  +1 star for this hungry girl!

Anyway, I open the box, and it's not exactly your typical deep dish, like the Chicago-style.  It's more like regular pizza with HUGE crusts filled with mozzarella.  It's sort of like the stuffed crust pizzas that I think Domino's used to sell, but of course MUCH better quality.  So don't order this deep dish and expect Little Star or Zachary's style.

However, being a major carb-lover, I enjoyed every bite of that cheese-filled crust!  Delish.

I had to stop myself before I devoured the entire pizza, it was just amazing.  Can't wait to eat the leftovers tomorrow!  (and maybe even the day after that...it's very filling!)

Will definitely order from here again.  Might skip the deep dish style next time and just get regular pizza, but then again, those cheese-filled crusts are certainly amazing!

Little hole in the wall pizza joint, you walk in expecting to pick a slice and go. But this is made-to-order, so if you're looking for something quick to soak up the booze you just had, this is not the place.

$5.40 for a slice of the San Franciscan. It is a huuuuge slice, covered in cheesy meaty goodness. I'm usually starving or buzzed when I go here, so I can't say my foodie taste buds are at their best. But there really is no better time to eat then when you're starving or buzzed, right? Plus, it's great to watch them roll out the dough, and if you smile extra nice, they might just make that slice a little bigger.
