Let me start out by saying that Sephora is every girl's dreamland...well those that care to look good anyways.

The sephora on bloor street is really the BEST in Toronto. It is an independent store, not in a crowded mall, and you always feel zen in there. It's never too crowded and the staff are super helpful. They always give you samples when you ask and won't bother you.

Yes, sephora has good brands and it is not cheap, but would you cheap out on your face?

Remember when you were 5 years old and would sit at your mom's vanity and paint yourself silly with her red lipsticks and frosted blue eyeshadows?
Well then coming into Sephora is taking that memory and pushing it to the nth degree, but of course hopefully now that you're older and daresay wiser, you've learned to make yourself up (much) less like a clown.

The Bloor street location seems to be the least chaotic and certainly is the neatest of them all as there is nary a stray kleenex strewn about or lipstick testers that have been disturbingly violated.  It's aisle after aisle of glorious cosmetics and beauty sundries from the likes of high-end and cult brands like Nars, Too Faced, Kat Von D, Oscar Blandi, Perricone sigh! The list of brands is simply endless. Sephora's house brand also boasts an impressive array of beauty products from cosmetics to bodycare, not to mention their collaboration with OPI offers an outstanding collection of nail varnishes that could  easily evoke  nail color envy in all your (girl)friends.  Being that it is the holidays all the cosmetics have taken on all manner of tinsel-ey metallic hues with nail colors and eyeshadows sporting so much crazy glitter, it could put the interior of Studio 54 to shame!

There are plenty of  helpful and friendly sales staff here too as my mission to find Nails Inc magnetic nail polish proved to be an enigmatic find amidst this colorful emporium of dizzying and endless swatches. Alas, a smiley and beautifully eyeshadowed SA came to my rescue and uncovered one of the last remaining polishes for me!  Thankfully Sephora makes my Xmas shopping so easy as GC's for my girly girlfriends are always destined to be a hit, and moreover it allows me to score hella points on my Sephora card and thus I ended up with a booty of free wrinkle cream and other samples...sweet regifting Santa Claus! Also worth mentioning the line-ups to cash out here are minimal as there are plenty of cashiers at the ready.

My one complaint is that their stock of Urban Decay's "fight-to-the-death"  worthy Naked eyeshadow pallette is lacking as it is always soldout and as such one needs to be waitlisted by Sephora in order to even dream about ever having one, I do believe however it is more readily available from Sephora's online.

If you have a cosmetic brand whore or beauty product addict to shop for this Christmas, the Sephora on Bloor will make the gifting a much more efficient and enjoyable chore, just beware , you may not get outta there without buying a little something for yourself !

Not as busy as the Eaton Centre location - only maybe 10 people in there whenever I have gone.
The usual, great selection that Sephora provides.

This is the best Sephora location in Toronto for sure. Never overcrowded, good store layout, plenty of staff to help you. No one giving me the evil eye while I sample a million products yet fail to ever purchase anything.

I finally did buy a ridiculously overpriced eyeshadow the other day, which I am so far enjoying.

Overall great shop but I just can't wrap my head around why women would willingly spend so much money on cosmetics!

I remembered when I only DREAMED that Sephora was in Toronto.  They have EVERYTHING.  But that doesn't mean they get a 5 star from me.

    PROS:
-great selection of all cosmetic products
-they carry basically every beauty line there is, so if you want it they've got it
-Good location, right by Museum subway

    CONS:
-their staff are not that knowledgeable.  I don't mean to sound like a witch, but sometimes their selections are totally off - especially when it comes to makeup like concealer and foundation and powder.  Their advice in the other areas are great, like mascara and eye shadow and blush.  But when it comes to skin makeup, pick it out yourself.  I've taken back tinted moisturizer that made me look like a ghost and have powder that makes me ompa loompa all over the place.
-they're frequently out of certain shades/colours like no other store.  Again, in the skin make up department.  Sometimes I've settled for a colour near what I want and in the end I am sorry.

Overall, if I can shop at the Bay I will.  It is a more peaceful cosmetic experience AND they have MAC along with most of the brands at Sephora.  And eventually you get more bang for your buck with points instead of little samples.  I stick with Sephora for Philosophy products and others that are Sephora only, but if I can get it elsewhere I will.

This is my favorite Sephora! It's never too crowded; the staff has always been friendly and helpful. I've never felt like I'm being watched or pressured into purchasing products. The testers are tidy and sampels are available for many products.

This is a wonderland for those who love makeup and who also like the comfortable and helpful experience while shopping for it.

So nice!  Nobody bothered me while I wandered around here in my customary trance like state.  I love the meditation that is cosmetic shopping!  I tested and wandered, noting that assistants were present and approachable but unbothered by them.  I hate feeling watched or harassed.

I've been trying to limit my cosmetics spending but decided to treat myself to some nice bubble bath and body cream.  I had a Beauty Insider card at one point some time in the past but have no idea where it is now and decided to sign up for one.  It's my birthday so asked if I still qualified for the gift with the card if I was only just signing up.  The beaming assistant said it was absolutely no problem; then activated my card, wished me a happy birthday, gave me my free gift and threw some fragrance samples into the bag.  Such a pleasant experience!

The negative?  I've no reason not to go back now.  Except for relative poverty.

I love Sephora, but don't love this location.  I really ilke the Eaton Centre location...   I save my Sephora trips for when I'm at the Eaton Centre.

I find the staff here to be less than helpful.  Products, selection are great as always though.

Of the three Sephora locations in Toronto, this is the best one. It's WAY less crowded than the two mall locations and as a result the store is in much better shape. The testers are more plentiful and tidy, plus they ooze less (the testers at the Eaton Centre tend to be goopy and chalky from high traffic). You're more likely to get personalized recommendations from this location and the staff is pretty upbeat. I recently had a twenty minute impromptu perfume consultation and tried out a whole bunch of scents I wouldn't have normally chosen.

I love all the brands that you can buy at Sephora but not anywhere else - like Fresh, Bliss, Cake (the hair powder is the BOMB if you want to train your hair to be washed less often), NARS and Make Up For Ever.

The non-pretentious, no pressure shopping environment is perfect for browsing and you should absolutely never forget about the store's free sample policy - three free samples of ANYTHING per visit. That means perfume, mineral makeup, shampoo, body wash, moisturizer, sunscreen - whatever you want - can all be bottled up in a sample jar for you to try before you buy. Seriously, just ask!

This is my favourite Sephora in Toronto. It is so well organized and the sales associates are so friendly. Plus, after walking by stores like Gucci, Prada, Chanel and LV - it feels good to get into a store where I can actually afford something.

I love how the sales associates aren't pushy. You are free to browse, test products and spend your time looking up reviews on your mobile device.

Their return policy is great, if something doesn't work for you, just return it within a reasonable amount of time (not sure the exact conditions). They are generous with samples, and the Beauty Insider program is appreciated (every $100 you spend, you get a mini-product, and your points are banked over time, so you don't have to spend $100 on the spot).

Because I am a certified Makeup Artist I am always looking for the newist and coolist beauty supplies and I KNOW Sephora is up to-date with all the newist trends.
I always shop at the Sehpra in the Eatons Centre and I find that it is VERY dirty and you can never find a sales person when you need them! I also find that its very busy and hecktic to shop!

I came to this location the other day because it is right near my house and I just so happened to be walking by it and needed to grab a few things.

Immediately as I walked into the store I was greeted by a smiling sales person. I really noticed a difference from this store and the Eatons Centre store.
It was quiet, very clean, sales people were very friendly and knowledgable and helpful.
I did notice they do not have as much stock as the other location..they were out of a few of my fav. BLISS products..
When I was cashing out for the first time I actually got a few free samples and did not have to purchase them with my "Sepora Points".

I had the BEST experience ever and will DEFFINITLY continue shopping at this location.

    Pros:

-They have everything you need and didn't know you needed to gussy yourself up

-Sephora club thing gives you awesome free samples.  Plus you get free gifts for your birthday that tend to be super nice - staff are really generous about this sort of stuff too.

-Excellent return policy if you can deal with the suspicious glares - much better than Shoppers which is also selling high-end stuff

-Knowledgeable staff - wow.  When I lived in Boston it was clear that most of the staff had painted themselves up while driving down a very bumpy road in pitch-black darkness.  Here, they are polished and you'd trust them to take a brush to your face.

    Cons:

-They don't sell a lot of genuinely natural stuff here.  Some stuff is marketed as such, but really if you check out the stats a lot of it isn't terribly green and so I avoid most of fragrances and cleansing products.

-Crazy expensive - I tend to stick to the basics here and get what I *really* need/want.

-If you return something without a receipt, they treat you like a criminal.  I have expected them to take my fingerprints after they requested my ID for a return.

-Some of the staff are serious cosmetic victims themselves.  The woman who helped me cash-out was a poster-child for "what happens when you don't keep pumping collegian into your lips."  I literally could not tear my eyes away from her half-deflated lips.  Ick.  Thanks for the public-service-announcement on your face.

I LOVE this place... I signed up for yelp just so I could talk about it lol. Everyone who works there is awesome and super friendly, and even though I live closer to the Yorkdale one, I like this location the best.

I'm such a perfume junkie, plus I probably have every mascara they've ever sold... and I'm no stranger to the Smashbox section :) I rarely have to bring something back, but if I do, I've never had anything but a good experience.

My most recent fave is the new Juicy perfume... so delicious-smelling!

If I could live at Sephora, I definitely would.

When you've had a rough day you can go in here and play with some make up. If they're not busy ask them for an eye application.. they can show you different ways to jazz up your eyes.

best sephora by far. never crowded, no panic stricken teenagers, you can always find a salesperson to assist you AND products are always available. i can't stress how nice it is to go to a sephora and get what you need efficiently. i usually am in a rush whenever i go to sephora so i like having the option of doing things fast without customer congestion. this is also a good store to visit if you have time to browse and test things out. you will never be hassled or followed around by annoying sales staff. they will also offer you plenty of samples without question.
