This place has the greatest authentic Korean cuisine this city has to offer! Didn't know what to expect, but the atmosphere and level of service took me by surprise. Definitely worth the money if you're looking for a night out. I highly recommend the BBQ ribs, I've never tasted ribs like these! Sooo good!

My first experience Korean BBQ was at Seoul House around 16 years ago.  OMG... long time ago.

We came here for a friend's birthday.  I couldn't believe it was so quite on Sat night.  Anyway, we ordered the BBQ combo to share...

Spicy salmon green salad - Only few pieces of salmon and lettuce
Kimchi spicy tofu soup - we ordered mild spicy, but, it so salty.
3 chicken and vegetable  - grilled chicken skewers still raw inside.
Korean seafood pancake - it was ok.
Ribs, chicken and pork for BBQ - Give some praise, their ribs were fantastic, tender, juicy and sweet...

The services were excellent, the waitress changed the BBQ plate and hot tea served for few times

Me and my wife went here for lunch today.  This was our second time there, the first time was OK but after this experience we will not be going back.

    1) They advertise "all you can eat buffet" on the door.  There is no buffet, but there is a limited all you can eat menu (about 12 things, with completely different dinner things on the back, some of which i wanted, alas this side of the sheet is only for dinner!).

    2) the seafood pancake we ordered was half-cooked.  We sent it back.

    3) We ordered two bowls of soup.  They never showed up and when we finally asked the waitress said "the order went missing" (before even looking to see what had happened).

    4) The food that we did get was mediocre, of the many Korean restaurants I've been to, probably amongst the worst.

    5) They never re-filled our tea, it seemed like a big inconvenience to the staff that we were even there.

If you want much better Korean food in the neighbourhood, go to Choon Ha Choo Dong on Broadway near Main.

When you first walk in, the restaurant looks impressively old world korean.  Ok that was the best part of the restaurant and everything goes downhill from there.

Perhaps it was the timing.  We had a late lunch for a party of 3 at 3 in the afternoon.  They stop serving lunch at 2:30pm.  Then they raise the prices to dinner prices.  So ok not a big deal.  We'll let that slide.

We ordered, Spicy Tofu soup, Hot Bowl Bi Bim Bap and Donkatsu. and they only gave us 4 little side dishes.  I wasn't feeling the Royal experience except for their price.  it was almost 13 dollars for a bowl of rice and where was the beef in the Bi Bim Bap?  That wasn't Bulgogi. It was less than a tablespoon of beef we could tell because it was minced so small and there was so little of the beef it didn't even fill on of their spoons. It was the saddest Bi Bim Bap I'd ever seen.

The Spicy Tofu Soup, and I did ask her to make it really spicy but it was seriously lackluster.  Normally korean Soups come out boiling.  It wasn't that hot.  The korean Food was a sad experience.

The Donkatsu wasn't bad looking  The presentation was good.  So maybe this place is more reliable for Japanese than korean.  I'd have to have more japanese food here to tell but I won't.

Service wasn't all that great.  We were the only table our server had and she never came around to refill waters or ask if we needed more tea or more side dishes.  She dissapeared.

My Guests were polite about my lunch choice but I'll never take them there again.

This place has always been a solid choice for Korean food and continues to provide some good quality meats when ordering for BBQ.

I've always been surprised at the mediocre quality of food from other restaurants, but this place has always had a certain consistency to everything.

Service is smooth and quick which has also been very accommodating of large parties as well.

It may not blow your socks off, but consistency stands for something when it comes to restaurants and that's what keeps this place around.

I've been here about three times now, twice with a group and once with my boyfriend. All times have been fun and very, very tasty.

The best bit about this Korean restaurant is that you can cook your meat by yourself. If you're in a booth the hot plate is built into the centre of the table, otherwise they bring over a portable plate on which you cook your meal. This is super fun, especially if you're with a group of people.

I'm not great at remembering what we ate (the awesome Korean names escape me), but I would recommend you try the meat BBQ and cook the food yourself, and one meal I always do remember when I go to Korean is the Kim Chee pancake. This is a literal pancake that comes fried with vegetables. There's another pancake that comes with seafood, but I'm not a fan of this one (the squid tentacles don't do it for me).

Soul House is licensed, so you can enjoy a drink with your meal, and it's a decent sized restaurant so feel free to bring a big group. The interior is decked out in a style of décor that makes me feel like I'm eating in a Korean village somewhere far away from Vancouver.

I walked into this place expecting a restaurant, but it felt more like a bus depot. There are tiled floors and some booths in the middle, but the place was anything but cozy. There might have even been a breeze. Perhaps it was from the fan to suck up the smells of meat cooking on your table top -- which is why you go here in the first place.

I've had some really great Korean BBQ when I was in Asia, so I had pretty high expectations. You order and plates of meat are brought to your table and you cook them yourself on the table-top grill. Which can be a fun D-I-Y dinner out. There was nothing wrong with the meal we had here - the portions were big and the prices were reasonable. There was just nothing exceptional.

We asked about the karaoke that they advertise. The woman had trouble answering us and ran to get another staff member. She asked us some questions about how many people and what day. We answered "we don't want to book, we were just wondering how much it costs?" She just shook her head and laughed and told us it wasn't like that. We left the place a bit confused.

Really it's 4 stars but I gotta help get this place's rating up. If you wrote a review of this and complained about prices, buffets, deals, etc , get the hell over it, these are Asians, there's a cultural difference. It's about the food and I bet every one of those yuppy 1 star reviewers has never been to Korea. I on the other hand, have lived in Korea. Taught in Korea. Drank in Korean. Done Karaoke in Korea. And most importantly, ate in Korea. And if you're looking for authentic taste of Korean food, look no further than Seoul House. Quality foods, great kimchi, good meats, BBQ and even Korean style sushi. The dae gi gogi or Pork, is absolutely mouth watering. Add in some Hite beer, soju and cabbage, you'll be in Heaven. Ignore the other reviews, this is where it's at for Korean in Vancouver.

After living in LA for 10 years, I can say this place is solid. It's a 4 star in LA, but 5 stars for Vancouver.

Sad to say this is the only somewhat decent Korean bbq unlike LA.  Do love their glass noodles and remembering their marination was pretty sweet; explains why I only ate their twice!
