The saddest Bibimbap I have experienced. And grossly overpriced- a bit of rice, lettuce, a bland carrot concoction, probably a level tablespoon of ground beef (I kid you not!), and an unexceptional gochujang. As side dishes you get a tablespoon of Kimchee and a watery bland lukewarm soup- and this for $12.98? I used to get a takeout dish from a place called Korean BBQ in Toronto for ten dollars- large pieces of beautifully BBQ' beef, and chicken done in Korean spice, lovely dumplings, great piles of wonderful kimchee, and the Bibimbap was extraordinary- spinach, sprouts, mushroom and tofu along with the rice fried in sesame oil and fragrant beef made for a complex medley of tastes.
I give this place six months, if that. Do yourself a favor and take in Ta Ke Sushi downtown instead- great Sushi, good prices, and a charming proprietor. -

Review from Kim H.
Our 2nd night in Charlottetown, we were craving something "different" for supper (i.e. not greasy pub food, but still affordable and quick). We thought about doing sushi, but that's something we have done before many times and the place we were looking at was a tad expensive. The boy suggested Korean or Thai, which is how we happened upon Seoul Food on Google.
First of all, I wanted to visit this place based on the name alone. Whoever thought of it deserves some kind of medal for genius-ness (geniosity? geniaty? It's telling of my own intelligence that I can't think of the right term for such a thing). I also had never had Korean food before, and I'm always up for something new so we thought we'd give it a try.
Don't be discouraged by the appearance - it's a small place in a strip mall area and it looks more like a take-out lunch counter when you walk in. However, I thought it was cute - well-decorated, bright, clean and I loved that the menu items were so easy to read (each dish is numbered and displayed on a 8.5x11 piece of paper on the wall with a large colour picture - always nice for a cuisine you are not familiar with).
I honestly can't remember what the names of our dishes were but I ordered a shrimp noodle dish with dumplings, the boy ordered a rice/bacon dish and we shared a plate of korean rolls (which looked just like sushi only had egg, hamburger, and veggies in them instead of fish). The portions were big (we would have been plenty satisfied without the rolls), plus they came with two side dishes each - a small bowl of tofu soup (I didn't finish mine - not much of a soup person, honestly, I find it really salty - but it was pretty good) and what I think was kimchi (it was a small dish of fermented veggies that were too spicy for me-I only had one bite).
My noodles were really thick and soft, and they were topped with stir fried shrimp, carrots and other various veggies, in a red, spicy sauce. It was really tasty, but a warning to those that don't like or are not used to spicy food, you probably shouldn't eat Korean. I found the spice level was tolerable but any hotter and it would have been too hot for me. My lips were very tingly by the time I finished! However, you could tell it was really fresh - everything was piping hot when it came out and homemade, which was nice. Plus you get cute little stainless steel chopsticks with your meal, which I thought was a nice touch (I'm easily amused). The owner thanked us at the counter when we were paying after our meal, which I also thought was a nice touch.
It was refreshing to find a place that was a little "different" in a small city like Charlottetown, which isn't exactly known for its diversity. We figured it must be good because we were the only non-Korean's there! Except I did feel like they were all laughing at my crappy chopstick skills.
All I have to say in conclusion is Seoul Food is the BEST name for a Korean restaurant EVER.
