I first went to Seneca like 6 or 8 years ago when the poker room first opened. The poker room was nice and they had a great buffet my friends and I dined at.
Fast forward to now, and I was back here for a poker tournament. Stayed in the hotel, which is suuuuuch a nice hotel. Poker room was well-run, though they have some weird rules. Missed the buffet this time, but they offered tons of other food options. The casino even threw in a free dinner buffet for tournament players, and they had snacks at the start of the day.
Even coming from Vegas, I was a fan of this casino. -

I came here on a trip to the falls, only because my mother is a gambler. The place is really nicely decorated, and it's really big with lots of gambling machines.
The reason why I give it one star is because they allow smoking all through out, which I personally think is gross. I was there for about 2 hours, and I smelled like a smoker, it was awful. Wish they would have designated smoking areas. They even allowed smoking inside the restaurants. -

I came here as a part of a Casino Bus Trip. This is a pretty good sized casino with lots of slots and some tables as well. They have a high-stakes gaming area as well as live poker room. The casino also has non-smoking area called Turtle Island however there are many people that ignore that fact and still continued to smoke in this area however it was much less smoky here than the rest of the casino.
Definitely join there loyalty program called Players Club where you receive a Seneca Niagara membership card. You earn points on slots and table game plays in which you can redeem for dining, entertainment, spa, retail merchandise, casino play, hotel stays, meal offers, complimentary show tickets, invitations to exclusive events, and more. It's definitely worth it! My group got $20 for free to play with as well as a discount to dine at the buffet and a $10 meal voucher.
There are many dining options here at the casino including a Tim horton/Cold stone creamery, cafe, burger joint, steakhouse, and an all you can eat buffet called Thunder Falls Buffet. I definitely recommened the buffet it was spectacular! There are also many bars located throughout the casino and a waitress comes around and offers free beverages (just remember to tip her!). There is also a free soda fountain located by the slots to quench your thirst!
There was live entertainment going on the middle of casino where a band was playing and signing live which was really nice.
Overall I had a great time and would definitely return here. Try to stay in the non smoking side called Turtle Bay (it's much less smokey), join the players club to received the extra perks, get a drink at the free soda fountain, sit back and groove to the live entertainment, and definitely check out the buffet if you get hungry!Listed in: 30-Day Yelp Challenge

I like this casino and will continue to choose it every time over the Canadian one across the bridge.
Comparing the two, here is what I prefer at Seneca: FREE Parking!!! FREE Drinks while gaming (just tip)!!! You can smoke there!!! It's bigger!!!
What else I find to be cool is that they have both a table game and slots area that is designated nonsmoking. HUGE Poker Room off of the gaming floor. The ambiance is good and offers a fun vibe.
What could be improved on: Service. I had to wait a couple of times for attendants at the slots and there were none to be found. Standing at a machine that is holding your money hostage for 10-minutes without any help to be found is a pisser, lemmie tell ya. Also the waitresses were sparse and sometimes forgot orders. I literally had to ask the same girl THREE times for a water. And from the time I first asked until the time I actually got it was over 1.5 hours. Bullshit. I would have liked to have seen some table games with lower limits. They were too high for me so I stuck to the slots. Slots seem to be pretty tight.
Other than that though I was satisfied and will definitely be back. -

Niiice! I was here for a brief moment in the middle of the night. It was worth coming to because on the way to Canada, I was able to exchange my dollars to CAD. Absolutely great! whoo hoo! There were an assortment of table games. I am definitely coming back here again.. on my way to Canada, next time! This was also convenient to find, as well.

Cigarette Smoke
Bam it hit's you in the face the minute you walk into the joint! Crazy amounts to, not sure if they give them away here or something!
I was in town for a wedding reception that was here. Wedding reception was very nice, food was good, and good beer & drinks.
The hotel room was a little run down, can tell it's had a few vistor's. I choose not to gamble due to the crazy amount of smoke everywhere.
Don't think i'll be back. -

I think its great that theres a casino so close to the Amherst area (that could be a bad thing too...), because coming from NYC the closest casino would be 2 hours away. So a 30,40 minute drive is pretty awesome.
BUT, I gotta say this casino is pretty lame. The casinos at Atlantic City give you incentives to come back. Free rooms, free gambling money, meals, whatever! you get stuff....Seneca? I don't think I was offered a single thing. Considering how much money they took from me, lol.
I can't say I have the greatest luck here. The only good thing I've heard of Seneca is from my friends that play poker. So if you're a poker guy, then go check it out!
The only real saving grace of this place is their buffet. Its great stuff, seriously...go check it out. Also the view is pretty cool too if you get a room, especially if you're facing the falls. Other than that, I only come here when I'm bored and because its convenient. -

Review for food only at two places:
Koi - Horrible. Worst pad thai I've had in years and the fresh vegetable rolls were almost all iceberg lettuce. Terrible terrible service. Waitstaff treats you like you killed their favorite pet. Avoid at all costs. Would rate negative stars if possible.
Buffet - For $15, not a bad deal at all. Came here around brunch time and was pleasantly surprised at the range of foods offered. Waitstaff here is fairly nice. This is probably because all they have to do is keep your water filled then clear your table when you leave and they get to collect a tip for that. -

It's impossible to get a drink at the tables and when you venture to the bar...there is a ONE DRINK per person MAXIMUM. Yes, you heard that right. A ONE drink max. So if you're playing a table with a friend, and you want to actually have a drink, you have to leave your table, one at a time, in order to take turns getting drinks at the bar. It's maximum stupidity. Did I mention that you're proofed for every drink you order...when you have to be 21 to get in the casino.
I am sofa king stupid. Can someone please explain this situation to me?1 Previous Review: Show all »

Gaming: All i need to say is SMOKE! Be prepared to walk outta here and go straight to the shower. The security is tight here,so expect to bring and show your ID everytime you walk in the casino. There are plently of small bet machines that can keep a cheap player busy for a while.
Parking:Plenty of free parking but bring in all of your valuables or leave them at home...the neighborhood isn't that great.
Hotel: The hotel was very fancy and they went all out on many things except the forgot to buy fitted sheets and comfortable beds. When we complained, they said they don't use fitted sheets and that we were the third set of people to complain about the beds that morning. "View of the falls"......should be changed to "view of the mist from the falls"
Food: The buffet was great, the wait staff was great and we got our money worth.
Very small casino compared to Foxwoods and Mohegan....I guess i have bben spoiled living in CT. -

You can smoke here, Could be good or bad. Even Though i smoke i consider it bad. Fallsview across the bridge is so much nicer. This place is a Sh*t hole compared to Canadian side. Doesnt even have a view of the falls. Tables are $15 minimum though compared to $25 on most tables across the bridge. wouldn't come back

A decent casino, would be one of the "middle-of-the-road" casinos in Vegas like Bally's or Tropicana, but newer.
The buffet and other restaurants are not very good though. -

For some reason I wasn't feeling it when I came here.
The casino looked good and you can use real money, and not any bull crap tokens, in the slot machines. Lots of action, even on a Sunday night in Western New York.
The big turn off came when I was told by two guards at the casino entrance that I wasn't allowed to bring in my backpack. WTF? I complied and took it to the coat check. I was told by the lady at the coat check that the coat check closes at 8pm that night (It was approaching 7pm at this time). Fine.
I played $20.00 on a quarter slot machine and made it last 20 minutes before the one armed bandit played the Socialist Pig and wiped me out. At that point, I gave up, went to the coat room to get my backpack and then went back to the hotel.
I like the outside design of the resort and how the casino is designed and set up. Just wasn't feeling it. Maybe I was expecting more. On my way back to the hotel, it dawned on me that I wasn't in Las Vegas! Oh yeah!Listed in: Niagara Falls, USA and Canada

Great casino, shitty neighborhood. Minus one star for having the nicest thing in Niagara Falls (USA) right next to the ghetto.
I was born & raised in Niagara Falls, and this casino, which was built several years ago, is the best thing Niagara Falls has ever seen. The main part of the casino used to be the old Niagara Falls Convention Center, and as sad as we all were to see the convention center go, the casino has brough people back to the falls.
Although the US side still lacks the excitement of it's Canadian counterpart, the casino has helped bring business back to the downtown area. I have been to Vegas twice now, so I know it's not exactly as good as that, but with several nice restaurants, a tremendous buffet, and a pretty large casino floor, this place keeps me pretty happy. It's like my Vegas away from Vegas.
I did read in some of the reviews that people thought the dealers left something to be desired, but I do not play table games, so I can't really comment on that. I'm more of a slots and video poker kinda girl.
I like that this place is owned by the Native Americans, because when it's their land, they can build whatever they want. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't be gambling in NY state at all. You can also smoke inside at the casino, including the restaurants, which is also not allowed any where else in NY state.
If you choose to stay at the hotel here, you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of your room. I've stayed here once, and it was perfect, The hotel is the only 4-star property in Niagara Falls, and it's easy to see why.
Parking is free, and plentiful here, although I have seen it get busy enough where we've had to park at the very top of the ramp. Even at it's busiest (Saturday nights seem to be the worst), you can still find a spot here somewhere.
I always seem to win money, even though the other reviews here seem to have had worse luck than I do. Overall, I think this is a fun place to be. Make sure you check it out if you're gonna be in the area! -

I am a big gambling fan, especially blackjack. The dealers here can be kind of assholey, but the low-limit tables are appreciated by broke-ass graduate students such as myself.
I am a huge fan of the buffet- not so much for the quality (you will find better in Vegas, obviously) but for the HUGE variety. It definitely rivals (and even beats) many Vegas buffets in terms of size and diversity of offerings.
Not a huge fan of the cigarette smoke, but what can ya do.
All in all, if you have the time, Casino Niagara or Fallsview north of the border is a better option, but this will do for a quick trip to entertain family or blow your rent money. -
Review from Dane K.
A decent casino for an Indian casino (which always seems to be just a bit less "polished" than their really corporate counterparts). The table game options are a bit limited in general in numbers... And while the casino overall is decent, it is not as nice as the counterparts on Canadian side..
Roulette here is decent. Sometimes the mins could be lower based off of the lack of players...
The newish hotel is quite nice. Probably the nicest hotel in the area, in fact. We stayed there for $80ish after a few hours of gambling (this was a "deal" based off of our gambling..). The rooms are really nice in decor. Brand new everything, granite bathroom vanities, upscale fixtures, flat panel TVs with working HD, room service, etc.. -

I can't say enough about Seneca Casino. I go there when I have 20 bucks I can afford to loose, which isnt often because Gramma knows where I keep my money stash and she's got a monkey on her back, and its' name is "Bingo." But the buffet is great! I have a hard time playing the slots because you can win on a bazillion different lines and kinda have to take the machine's word for it. "Trust" and "Casino" dont easily go together. Craps, yeah! -

What can I saw about a Casino that is not in Vegas. I surely can't hold them to the same standards right? Well if this CAsino were anywhere else perhaps the review would be a little less than positive but it was the center of fun in a town the seemed to close down at dusk.

Nothing special about this place. It's pretty nicely designed and looks nice, however, the table minimums and the overcrowded conditions suck. The only thing that this place has going for it, is that it is more spacious than the Canadian casinos right across the falls.
The room prices here are ridiculous. $249 a night? Get real! I could get a room at the Wynn, Palazzo or Venetian in Vegas for half of that and the room would be 5 times as nice.
I'll stick to Vegas or Foxwoods. -

I've been to this casino on several occasions and despite their best efforts, I prefer Seneca Niagara on the Canadian side.
Gaming: they have all the typical table games you'd expect plus the popular "Asian" gaming section and a Poker room.
They have one large Wheel of Fortune game [love it], Double Diamond Deluxe 25cent progressives, several 1centers, and the lovely mind-numbing Keno.
Waitresses are pretty good about coming around for drinks.
Food: the buffet is pretty low-end compared to actual Vegas-buffets. The big ticket itemed crab-legs are more or less taken out of the freezer and then served over ice [would it be too hard to heat them up!?].
The rest of the food is pretty boring and not particularly good: chicken Marsala, chicken fried steak, carving station, shrimp scampi, pizza, pasta, baked potato.
The desserts are actually pretty good--try the German chocolate cake.
It is seemingly a lot smokier than other casinos I've visited, though they have a small and abbreviated non-smoking section.
Despite all the cons, it sometimes makes more sense to just stay on the US side because crossing the border [as of late] is very time-consuming [expect a minimum 30 minutes to get back into the US]. -

I had never been to a casino before going here last week. The bf had to work a few days while I was there so I tried the casino to kill some time. Mmmm slot machines are apparently not my thing...well except for the poker ones. They have like a gabillion slot machines and like 5 table games. Either way I spent $20 and I won back $5 and it took me about 1 and a half hours to do it. Pair all that excitement with a weak ass drink and it's as good of a time as anyone should be having at noon on a Monday. I tried the buffet here. It was okay. Better than OCB but not bomb ass by any standards. I pretty much just stuck with the shrimp cocktail and crab legs. They had some kickass desserts though and I am not even a huge dessert fan so that is saying something. All in all it was a pretty good time and I will be back in a few weeks when I head back to NY and the bf has to work.

I went to the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel for Mother's Day weekend with my mom. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!!
We stayed in the hotel for two nights...only $200 in total! The hotel room was beautiful. We were able to get a room with a view of the Falls...we were only on the 10th floor so we couldn't see too much of the Falls, but it was still a nice view though with floor-to-ceiling windows. The room was fairly spacious (we had a deluxe room with two queen beds), there was a big, flat-panel TV, a mini refrigerator, and I think there was a microwave in the room as well. There aren't a ton of channels to choose from on the TV though, so I wasn't too happy about that. But they do have the basics, and some extras like ESPN, TNT, and a few others. The bathroom was absolutely gorgeous...I seriously wish I could have one in my apartment just like it! My favorite thing was definitely the oversized shower...man, it was beautiful...something you'd see in an interior design magazine! The only thing that would have made me happier would have been free wi-fi in the hotel, but oh well. I think they have an option where you can get Internet service for about $9.95 a day, or something like that.
They have a beautiful spa and salon area (although I didn't use those services; I just walked by it) and a nice pool with a bunch of lounge chairs around (and a big screen TV is located in there, too). There is even a nice fireplace in the pool area, so you can lounge around over there. And, there is a balcony area by the pool so you can sit outside after you take a dip in the pool. The pool only stays open till 9:45 pm every day, but I'd recommend going in there after about 5:30-6 pm if you want a little peace and quiet because there are usually a lot of families (with loud kids jumping all over the place) in there earlier in the day.
There are a lot of nice shops located in the hotel...pricey (other than the $10 store), but still nice to browse.
We went to the buffet for dinner twice and lunch once. What a huge selection of foods and desserts to choose from! It was definitely worth the $23 per person. Think Old Country Buffet, but waaaaaay better!!
As for the casino, I'm not much of a gambler, but I usually stick to video slots when I do gamble, so I can't really comment on the table games. But there are a lot of games to choose from. You can use money instead of tokens to gamble. There is also a bar area in the center of the casino, so it's a nice place to sit and watch and have a drink. The only complaint that I have is that smoking is allowed in the casino (and I'm a non-smoker), so the smoke definitely gets to me after a while. Not a good place to go if you can't stand cigarette smoke. The casino can get a little crowded at times, but nothing like the crowds across the border in the Niagara Falls, Canada casinos. I was in the casino on a Monday night and it wasn't crowded, so I'd suggest gambling there on weekday nights if you wanna avoid crowds.
As some of the other reviewers pointed out, the neighborhood where the casino/hotel is located kinda sucks so you're sorta stuck staying there the whole time...unless you have a passport so you can drive to the Canadian side. But definitely a great place to go...worth the money!! -

I'm just mad because I lost $80 here but this place is fine. It's on the NY side of Niagara Falls, but my brother who went to school in Buffalo, said the casino on the Canadian side is much better.
