My boyfriend and I stayed at the Senator for one night on a cross-Canada road trip in September 2010. The staff were pleasant and the room, although small, was very cozy with warm lighting and nice furnishings. The bathroom fixtures looked brand new and everything was very clean.

The only downside, and not really the fault of the Senator, were the homeless people hanging around outside the main doors. We were approached when we parked across the street to check in. When we came back out to move our car to the hotel lot (located down an alley behind the building) two homeless people motioned to each other with a nod and both immediately started walking towards our car as we came out the door. This made us feel very uncomfortable and we opted to walk around the block instead.

We recommend the Senator for their cozy, clean rooms but advise parking in their lot behind the building and not on the street out front.
