A total hole in the wall hair salon at the Arbutus Shopping Mall! I was really skeptical when my friend suggested we get our hair done for a big party at this hair salon. Afterall, I bought an amazing dress and I wanted my hair to look fabulous too.
My friend got her hair done first. She asked for a blowout and it turned out really nicely. It had a nice volume to it and looked natural too. I wanted an updo. My friend told me to be really specific with the hair stylist because there were a bit of language barrier. She spoke Vietnamese and I didn't. Anyways, she understood how I wanted it to be done and I was amazed at the final result. I had my hair in a bun with a few curls around it. It was quite dramatic so it went well with my dress.
The icing on the cake: my updo only cost $20 plus taxes. The average price in any salon for an updo would easily cost me $50 since I had a lot of hair and the style was a bit complicated. What a deal!!
If I need my hair done for special occasions, I'll definitely go back there. What a nice little gem in the mall!
