Beth and I went to Vancouver.
Beth and I are dieting.
Beth and I only went to two restaurants while we were there.
Beth and I thought this one was the better of the two.
I had a veggie burger that was to die for. First couple of bites, no big deal. But then after that, everything just kind of mixed up in my mouth and i tasted everything that was going on and after another couple of minutes it was gone and I was sad.
It was the kind of food that makes you sad when it ends. And now I'm sad that there isn't a Sejuiced in Seattle. Thanks, Sejuiced.
Healthy, hearty and happy, I lounged at Sejuiced this past week, content on munching and typing (picked up free Wi-Fi from next door Jitters). The space is clean and bright, and outside of the noise from the juicer, very quiet. I think everyone else there midweek had the same idea - high efficiency work lunching.
My quesadilla with little black beans and surrounded by gooey cheese paired surprisingly well with tatziki and fruit salsa. The mixed bean soup I had alongside of it was okay. Perhaps I'm just not so much of a bean soup girl. It did have quite some savoury flavouring to it.
The part that blew my mind, most surprisingly, was the chai. I ordered it, momentarily regretted it when I saw them pulling out the Tazo Chai tetra pak, but then kept my mouth shut... I'm glad I did. I don't know what they did to spice it up so much, but such a wave of goodness surged through me that I gulped it down. Next time, I might have to order two of those babies!

I shop along West 4th sometimes and always get a smoothie from here.. or stop by to grab a burger or sandwich on my way home.
The service here isn't HORRIBLE, it's just.. very minimal interaction. I've heard from a friend of mine that works at Cobs on West 4th that they have rather snotty employees (Sejuiced uses Cobs bread), but as a customer I haven't really had that problem.
I absolutely love their menu and like what they stand for: locally grown and organic foods. Seriously really good and super healthy. It's a bit pricey for their items really, but that's what you would expect when it's all local organic produce I suppose. The smoothies here are awesome. One of my favourites is the blue lagoon. And it's cool that they have these little photo hangers at their tables with different fruit cards showing what they're good for (ex: acai is good for hair). But yeah, they have some outdoor seating when the weather is warm too. The interior of the building is very bright.
Definitely the place to grab a small meal when you feel like you've had too much oily foods.. or just sick of your usual greasy take out. Don't forget your smoothie!
I had a delicious veggie burger served with a yummy side salad. Awesome! Atmosphere isn't the greatest but it's good for a quick bite.
If I'm ever at work feeling malnourished and I didn't bring a lunch I make a point of skeedaddling off to Sejuiced on my lunch break - I can just make it if I hurry! Sure, I could hit up a Subway or a vending machine...but at Sejuiced I know I am guaranteed a substantial lunch that meets all my fussy requirements (in no particular order): LOTS, NUTRITIOUS, YUMMY, and VEGAN.
The dishes are plentiful and wholesome. Shaved beets on my salad? Hot, delectable burgers? Small desserts a perfect blend of good, and good-for-me? Don't mind if I do!
I usually go for the protein salad, which takes a long time to eat because there's oh so many luscious things stuffed into it, like grilled tofu, nuts, and plenty of crunchy veggies like the aforementioned beets. Salads come with toasted rye bread (I just ask them to hold off on the vegan butter-stuff). So good.
The soups are hearty, and the burgers and sandwiches taste like happy.
The restaurant is small and has a more day-glo cafe vibe than a sit-down-for-hours-and-yakkety-yak dinner place. It's a great place to hit up on your way to (or coming back from) doing something awesome, like bowling or hiking or marathon window-shopping up and down 4th.
Really tasty, high quality, healthy food. Almost everything on the menu is so good for you that you know you're doing your body good by eating there. It's a little on the pricey side, but I'm OK with it knowing that it's so much better for me than many other restaurants.
The burgers there are very tasty, but quite large so it's hard for me to finish. I also love their grilled tofu sandwich, quesadilla, and their standard dahl soup. Oh the salad with the grilled tofu pieces is also great. And their take-out containers are made of compostable pulp products. Good for body and earth.
This is definitely one of 4th Ave's secret gems. I came across this restaurant on a walk through Kits one lovely Saturday morning. Unable to find wheatgrass at my regular shop I stopped in to explore the possibilities.
Not only did I find wheatgrass I found an especially pleasant staff and atmosphere that didn't overwhelm me with that crunchy granola vegetarian vibe. This is stop worth making that will satisfy even those who are not so interested in meatless meals.
Dishes range from smoothies, beautiful and delicious salads to fresh soups including their staple dahl, & I would go as far as saying that it is the best dahl in Vancouver.
Only downfall is the unpredictable wait times...
Sejuiced serve what I call "California style" vegetarian food. That means juices, smoothies, wraps, veggie burgers, salads and soups. It's pretty expensive for a counter service restaurant without much ambiance, but the quality of the ingredients shine through.
This isn't really a place I would insist that vegetarian visitors to Vancouver check out, simply because chances are they've had something like it elsewhere, and generally when people are traveling they are more open to heavier and more intense food. But it is a place I find myself going back to, despite the expense, and the location that I am not all too fond of.
But the food is GOOD. The presentation of the food is really quite impressive as well, given the casual feel of the little restaurant. The salads are epic and delicious and everything I want when I want some real and healthy food. The veggie burgers are quite tasty, the rice/quinoa bowls are as good as can be, the soups are generally delicious, and the sandwiches/wraps are my favourite! The smoothies and juices are off the hook tasty, and they stock Chi vegan cheesecake and bliss balls for dessert (among other cookies/squares). My favourite component of a meal at Sejuiced is the tempeh. Few restaurants bother with tempeh since they don't realize how a thoughtful preparation can make fermented soybeans taste absolutely exquisite. Sejuiced does it right, and I make a point of subbing the tofu out for tempeh when I order salads and sandwiches. Sweet Cherubim would do well to take a hint from Sejuiced and up the quality of the ingredients, even if they do have to raise the average price of a salad a dollar or so.
I mean...no one who is looking for decadent deep-fried food or meat is going to like this place (send those people to Noodle Box just down te street towards Burrard)...but every visual aspect of Sejuiced projects what they're all about, namely, fresh and healthy vegetarian food and juices. This is my favourite place to go when I'm feeling lethargic or have had one too many big heavy cooked meals. And it's not going to leave you hungry either. The salad portions are massive and the veggie burgers and rice bowls are seriously filling. Add a juice or smoothie to that mix and you'll be stuffed, trust me. And not the kind of stuffed that makes you feel like shit.
Don't leave without a bliss ball!

I have only ever had the smoothies and they are pretty tasty and the quality has been great. I think the prices are pretty much on par with other smoothy joints.
The staff is friendly and never seem to mind when I ask for substitutions (bananas make my mouth itch!).
The decor is basic and nondescript. I would like to try the food next time I'm lunching with a strictly veggie friend.
This delicious little eatery is a great place to stop in and have a veggie burger, a fruit smoothie, and if you're lucky, a vegan brownie. They have a small-ish, but very tasty menu of all things vegetarian, including a choice of many different kinds of veggie burgers, and they specialize in making delicious smoothies. This is a great place to stop in for a quick lunch or dinner, and the service is pretty friendly and fast. Everything I've tried here has been fresh and crammed with healthy ingredients like sprouts and seeds, so you can go away with your tummy full and feel good about it, too.
An excellent little place for breakfast! We have been going for a few years now and every experience has been wonderful. The menu is on the small side but there is always something for any time of day. Be it Tofu scramble for breakfast, homemade veggie burger for lunch or a quick stop for a refreshing smoothy! Always nutritious and always tasty. This is one of the last places left on 4th ave. that has that true "Kits" neighborhood feel.
Um the Bliss Balls are Blissfully blissful. Mmmmm!
