Gotta say....I am a fan.
The place is on the nicer side of the hair/nail salons. It's very boutique-y and just looks like someone's apt converted into a salon,(mius the walls) so it's open and spacious and def very unique. It's a very calming environment.
I'm not very gabby and that was ok. I came in to get my hair did and it worked out well. I was able to come in early, cuz I was running early (yay me) and I'm glad it worked out the way it did.
I'm very satisfied with my hair outcome (it's now red) it was* darker brown-multi-black colored. It turned out really nice and I'm glad I came here to get it done.
I'm not sure if its by appt only but I can see the pros and cons to that way of getting pretty done and taken care of.
I really liked the attitude of everyone working there, they were very friendly but not overly so. I would def come back and most likely will so I can start getting real adult hair cuts/color done.
Go here, you'll def like what they have to offer. -

Insomnia, work and a whole bunchofwaytoomanythings, has me wanting and deserving a mani pedi at a spa. After discussions with my friend on a much needed girls day, we decided to go to Sejour's, as this was a central location to where our errands would be at. Colleen, the "Nail Queen" was the one who suggested this place, and my oh my, how glad that she did.
My friend CC, and I are both Capricorns, so we value a great checklist, plans running smoothly, and appointments made days in advance. So it was helpful to know that Sejour's takes all their clients on an appointment basis only, which not only secures your appointment, but also ensures seclusion and privacy for you. Sam was very helpful over the phone, advising that parking is free right in front of the building, and with only one manicurist available, we are free to bring in our own wine for our enjoyment while we wait.
Yes Sam. Look over her reviews. She needs another title such as "The Infamous Sam" or the "Meticulous Sam". As we entered the salon on the 2nd floor, Sam was in fact who welcomed us when we first arrived. She took our coats, and told us that we are free to leave our other belongings in the seating area, as we were going to be the only clients during that time. Because our wine wasn't chilled, she swapped out for one of theirs and poured us hefty glasses that they had on site. We sat in our spa chairs and began our day of pamper and relaxation. Sam informed us that she personally makes the sugar scrub used on our feet and alternates between pineapple and peach scents. She let us know that she pays special attention to clients' preferences, and that the fruity scents were more popular to awaken the senses. The time in between when Sam took care of CC's mani and pedicure breezed right along as I took advantage of their free wifi, made a few phone calls (gotta get rid of the multi tasking habit at salons!) and just relaxed.
Rachel, the owner, came in and introduced herself. She let us know that this was a family owned business and I commended her with the fact that being Filipina, expectations of becoming a nurse were hard and she went against the grain. One of her brothers owns the wellness spa next door, which is in the works of relocating to the 3rd floor of that building. The other brother and wife, own the Korean/Japanese store on the 1st floor, where they will gladly order food for you while you await services. T.E.A.M.W.O.R.K. people!!!!!
Another feature that Sejour's offers is that they could cater and have events at their facility. With a lot of the elements offered under one roof literally, Rachel let us know we could have private bachelorette parties, wedding showers and other theme parties, and they would be private, closing off all other appointments with necessary advance notice. If the guest list is large, they would be willing to bring in other manicurists for an additional fee.
Don't ask me why, but when we were checking out, there was something about Rachel that I just had to ask. I said, "Are you a Capricorn?" And she said, yes, stating her bday, followed by a list of Goat OCD characteristics that only a fellow Cap will understand. Kindred spirits we all were, and that deserved a high five.
Ok, so yes, I get now why Colleen said that this place is the BEST! I was a little bit selfish when I had thoughts of not sharing this business and keeping it to myself, but Sejour's deserves to flourish, and that my fellow Yelpers, it shall! -

The rest of the reviews pretty much wet my appetite to try for a manicure and drag my sister who went for a pedicure. I had a lovely and relaxing time with Sam who did an awesome work on my hands and my sister's toes. I love the massaging chair as well...it relaxed me for the rest of the evening. I'll always come back to Sam to get my nails done. She's also pretty funny but in a serious-kind of way. It feels like hanging out with an older sister. I Might just try the hand of their stylist next.
I don't think it's a mistake for me to book my cousin's bridal team to use their service in July after seeing and experiencing the atmosphere and how accommodating they are. Another review to follow regarding this. -

A hidden gem!
My appointment at another salon was mistakenly cancelled, so I called this place based on reviews, and I'm glad I did. The stylist had an opening right away before her next appointment and I flew over there to get my "wig" fixed.
Jenna was super attentive and considerate of what I was looking to get done. I was specific to what I was looking for in the color for my hair. She talked me through the whole process from shampoo to styling.
I love the end result and most of all it was affordable! I literally squeeled when she said my final bill amount. (and no there was no first time visitor discount becuase one is not needed here)
The salon itself is designed to feel very spacious, homey, inviting, and comfortable. Just beautiful! I could go on, but you just have to visit to see what I'm talking about. It really is a great place to host private spa parties.
There is a plan for expansion to the above floor to provide even more spa services. Once that happens, I'm definately scheduling a friends spa day here.
Also, there is street parking but you have to pay the box.
I pray this place does not turn into some pretentious salon if it gets too popular. -

My review since my first visit remains.. if anything this place gets better and better!
I've now gone back for a second trim cut, and a mani/pedi with Sam.
When scheduling my mani pedi, Rachel answered the phone and recognized me even though I'd only been once! That right there is sincere service.
This is not the place for the under 1 hour mani/pedi turn around. This is the place to go to be truly pampered and know that Sam takes absolute pride in her work. You come and feel like you are just chilling with your gal friends, who happen to be working wonders on your hair, hands, and feet. A hot neck wrap that stayed warm for over an hour was absolute heaven.
My appointment was roughly 90-100 minutes but I left the salon so relaxed that I didn't want to leave. Milo is absolutely precious!
I booked a trim haircut with Ann for the following week and I continue to receive OUTSTANDING service. -

That time, I just visited Chicago and I wanted get my hair cut because my hair is not American hair. I was looking for the hair salon which had made Japanese hair cut. I thought I could find in big city, Chicago. It was not crowded, not so expensive and the skill was good because I could make my hair cut I like although I couldn't explain perfectly. If this salon located in my current city, I want to go there more often.

I see Anne here and I LOVE her. She's got a great personality, which is ideal in a stylist and she's really patient with me while I fuble around trying to explain what color I want my hair (who knew that would be so hard?). I also love that the salon is very well maintained, but low key at the same time. I've heard good things about their other stylist too.

I can't say enough good things about Sejour. I've been a regular customer since last fall after I moved to Chicago. I came here originally to use a Yelp deal for a mani/pedi & loved it so much that I got my hair done the very same day! Most of the times I've been here, Rachel, the owner, has been working & knows me by name. She seems to know all of the customers by name. I think it's awesome that she is almost always there and most days is the one who answers when I call to make an appointment. She is warm & friendly and genuinely seems to love what she does. Also as a bonus, Milo is the cutest little salon dog ever :) Well-behaved & quite friendly as well.
Anne has been my go-to hairstylist. She took my boring, long, brownish hair & gave me a super sassy blonde shorter 'do that I'm in love with! Anne is so sweet, quick with suggestions & does a stellar job! I've been to many places over the years & had different stylists but Anne is by far my favorite. I just wish I could replicate the way she styles my hair at home. I have zero hair talent myself, zero! It's cut in a way that's not hard to style, which is the way I like it, so what's great is I can blow dry it and literally just walk out the door. Very low maintenance.
I was in yesterday and met Jenna for the first time. She is very nice, was quite attentive to the client she had and her client seemed very happy. So well done, Sejour, Jenna is a great addition to the salon.
I haven't had the pleasure of a mani/pedi from Sam but one day, I will make the time! I believe the lady who did my nails is no longer there but I have heard great things about Sam as well.
Overall, love the staff, the atmosphere and the fact that you can order food from downstairs, always a bonus in my opinion! Thank you for an awesome, relaxing place to escape to! 5 stars & 2 thumbs up! -

I went here on a recommendation from a friend, who usually cuts my hair. Typically I have my friend cut my hair because I absolutely HATE salons and the typically pretentious vibe. Also of note, I'm incredibly broke 90% of the time. Hearing the pronunciation over the phone when I made my appointment made me even more apprehensive. I'm going to great lengths to detail my apprehension and preconceptions because Sejour totally shattered it. All staff are extremely friendly and they even have an adorable sweetheart of a tiny dog named Milo hanging out.
Anne cut my hair and she not only did a great job with my hair, she also made me feel extremely comfortable. I was dreading going to have a stranger cut my hair and 45 minutes of awkward small talk, but it flew by! Very engaging, even for a hungover cranky musician. I don't use yelp very often at all, but I actually made a point to give a review since she did such a great job. -

Review from Angie M.
I bought the Hot on Yelp deal for a spa mani/pedi at Sejour back in November and hoarded it for months. I knew that there would be some point in time I'd really need to redeem it.
My time came before a week-long Jamaican vacation.
Tucked away on Irving Park (easy street parking right on IP or around the corner on any of the side streets), it's a heavenly oasis for those with some seriously jacked up cuticles. Much like me.
See, for me winter is tough and this winter was particularly tough. Grooming fell to the wayside due to a nasty bout of mono that put me under for a solid two months. I could barely get out of bed let alone get my bootie to a nail studio. So when I had a pending vacation, I thought it would be the perfect time to utilize my nifty little Hot on Yelp deal and give my sad fingers and toes some much needed TLC.
Sam, resident manicurist at Sejour is nothing short of amazing. She's on the quiet side (fine by me), but she truly pampers her clients and gives them arguably the best nail care in the city. I picked out my nail polish color and sunk down into the super comfy massage chair and let Sam go to town on my toes. She filed, snipped, scrubbed and buffed my feet to perfection. It was hard to believe they were the same scraggly toesies that came in the door!
My manicure was incredible, too. Honestly, my cuticles never looked better (and believe me, they were, um, ragged) and she did an incredible job shaping my nails to give them a modern, yet classic look. Love.
I HIGHLY recommend Sejour. Why do we even bother with these cheapie nail studios when places like Sejour exist?Listed in: Stay Gorgeous, Chicago!

What?! My hair can now be towel dried, throw in some product , and still look good later that day? Ann, you are a genius!
I took the much needed step of searching Yelp for a new salon, and picked Sejour based on the reviews. I had sat down with Ann, and told her exactly what I wanted. Something I've been doing for years, but somehow never getting what I want. I have naturally wavy hair. Some days more curly, some days more straight. On humid days, an all out disaster. Well, Ann managed to cut my hair in a way that works everyday so far! It's been a week, and I went through a crazy humid day with torrential downpours. How did my hair look? GREAT! Thanks and I'll be back in 6 weeks.
I also made an appointment the next day for a mani/pedi. I saw Sam, who is super nice and gave me a very relaxing morning. It's been a week, and not one chip - very rare for me. Also, I'm a cuticle biter. Horrible habit - but not anymore, since there are no hanging cuticles left!
Thanks Sejour (oh, and their prices absolutely ROCK!)Listed in: See Me, Feel Me, Touch Me,…, North Center

Welcome to the best mani/pedi of your life. Ok, my life.
But, I've had many and I am a stern judge of character when it comes to getting the hands and feet in tip-top polished condition. I say this in all honesty, you might find it trite or shallow...but I find there is a direct correlation between condition of one's nails and their overall performance in life. "Dress for the job you want," right? Well, primp for the life YOU want. And I want a good one, so I get my nails done so I can feel confident that I do not have the nails of a dishwasher at Chili's.
Like many others, I purchased the Hot on Yelp deal a few months back ($25 for the whole spa man/pedi workup) and it's been burning a hole in my inbox. Finally, I got my ish together, called to make an appointment and looked forward to a Friday afternoon of relaxation and comfort away from Seasonal Affective Disorder, 5 foot drifts, "dibs," dry cuticles and calloused heels and...the world. Ahhhhhhh.
Location: It's on the second floor of a newer looking condo building, just above Mio Bento, close to Irving Park & Oakley. Parking is free/easy usually either on Oakley or Irving.
I arrived for my appointment into the wonderful arms of Sejour where a warm foot soak was waiting for me and Rachel (owner) greeted me and equipped me with a hot shoulder press and got the massage chair working. I sunk in, happy. Sam (the best nail tech I've had in YEARS) helped me select a color (mostly OPI) and then we began. What ensued was an hour long manicure/pedicure experience complete with long foot massages, careful culling of awful cuticles, shiny painting, and my life improving 10-fold.
*Also, if you're hungry...the owner's brother and sister-in-law are the owners of Mio Bento downstairs, and you can get yummy ramen (or whatever your heart pleases) delivered upstairs in a jif. 5-stars for them shortly!
Didn't get a Yelp deal!? You're still in luck. They have a special now where a combo is only $35. Yes, cheaper than most of those cheapy, crappy nail places. This is a lovely spa experience, quiet, relaxing, clean...and the same price or lower. For now...this is a special, so get in there and treat yourself. You'll thank me.
Sejour also offers all hair and waxing services, which they also have great deals on. Anne and Sam both do waxing, and Anne does all of the hair stuff, and is a GEM. I witnessed her do a fine job on a man's cut, and then do an updo for a high school gal. Woman's got range, and is very good.
This is a find folks, small business at its finest and they are doing a damn fine job. I've literally had hundreds of manicures and pedicures all over the city, and this was absolutely one of the best. Sam has great experience and it shows...

Review from Amanda Z.
I've become accustomed to the crappy cheap-o mani-pedi. You know the type. In and out with no real attention to detail or even to your relaxation. Digits were painted and I was out the door, on with my life.
One trip to Sejour and I realize what I've been missing! THE ABOVE SCENARIO IS NO LONGER OKAY (mmmmkay?).
Sejour sure knows how to make a girl feel special. No half-assing it here, you get a serious soak, a real scrub for your feet and a GOOD massage. Polish is painted on meticulously, and feet are left perfectly groomed and soft. (Forewarning for the massage chairs though...the "seat" function made me feel as though I had been molested. It turns off easily enough, thank goodness!) Water is brought out, a scented and warmed pillow for your neck for your relaxation, and seriously, Calgon, take me away. Y'know, minus the bubble bath part.
The manicure was no less perfect with a hand massage that left a smile on my face. My request? Barbie-pink finger nails (why not? I'm sick of the gray winter. I need some princess in my life ocasionally) and I was set for the weekend.
This is how manicures and pedicures SHOULD be. No more chop shops, folks. Come here and get pampered. Parking is easy out front, but make sure you make an appointment. Spa treatments like these require a little time.
Two Barbie-colored thumbs up.Listed in: Nails.

Sejour is awesome! I was looking for an inexpensive no-chip manicure since I was going to a bridesmaid in my sister's out of town wedding, but wouldn't have time to get a regular mani once I got there. I was the only person there on a Tuesday night, so I get extra special care! The owner and my manicurist, Sam, were both extremely personable and we chatted the whole time I was there. I got a french no-chip that looks beautiful and lasted for over two weeks! Best of all, their prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality of the salon and the services.
Bonus: they have a freaking adorable dog named Milo who wanders around. -
Review from Karen B.
Mani/pedi with Sam was fantastic and stayed longer than any other I have ever had. Worth the extra $ than the little nail shops that get you in and out as quickly as possible, without it being super expensive like some of the spas are charging. I came early on a Saturday and was the only person in there which at first I thought would be odd, but it was awesome! I was chatting about some wedding invite woes and Rachel called Office Depot and looked up several websites to find a solution for me. Unnecessary, but so nice.

I noticed that there are few reviews commenting on the hair services offered at Sejour. I came here for a cut and hi-lights and left very pleased. Firstly, when it comes to customer service Sejour gets 5 plus stars. The staff does a wonderful job of offering a sophisticated envirionemnt that is non-the-less free of pretension. The owner (Rachel) is warm, welcoming and professional. Ann (the stylist) was just as wonderful to work with. Ann provided me with a no-pressure consultation which left me feeling confident in her hands. Ann really listened to what I wanted, and delivered great results (a classic cut and natural looking hi-lights for my long, formerly light brown/dark blonde hair).
The length of my commute that day most likely weakened my impulse control; while I was there I decided to get a manicure too. 5 stars for that as well. Sarah took great care of me and went the whole 9 yards as far as I could tell. My bright red nails stayed chip free for 8 days (pretty impressive consideing how hard I am on my hands).
All in all this is a great little venue. -

I have to chime in on the newest edition to Sejour: Jenna. She cut my son's hair and not only does he love it but he's also styling his hair now using the styling tricks that he learned from Jenna. She's a sweetheart and is good at what she does. I've seen some of her other work and it's great. I've been going to Anne since I've lived here in Chicago- just about - but would trust Jenna completely to fill in if Anne were ever unavailable to me (like if she's on vacation or something). I don't think you can go wrong with either of these ladies and you should definitely check this place out!

I am a professional hair color virgin. I"ve been box dying myself for 20 years a platinum blonde. I wanted to go darker, like auburn but hadn't gone professional. I always get intimidated and this was such a nice change.
It's AVEDA products, which being a vegan and animal activist is important to me. the place is super clean and friendly and the best service ever. Everything about the staff was helpful and non-judgemental. I will go back again and again if it continues this way.
also, the hair color is gorgeous and my hair looks so healthy. so many compliments. thanks so much! -

I am a huge fan of Sejour!
As of right now its still a small place, with a small staff. Its a very clean and relaxing environment with great staff. I would say if you're looking for a group outing, Sejour wouldn't be the best as of yet since it has a small staff. Rachel, the owner, is very friendly and professional. The nail tech, Sarah, was polite and so gentle I was almost lulled to sleep. I've only gotten the No-Chip mani from Sejour, but I've always been happy with it. It must have some weird O.P.I. voodoo magic bc it barely smells and really lasts the 3 weeks. -

Nothing but a raving review. We had my baby shower here last weekend and it couldn't be a better location for a shower! There were 3 nail techs who did our nails while we were chatting & eating & did typical babyshower things. The food came from the Japanese downstairs who are as well STELLAR! If you are ever in need of a good venue for a shower or girl get together I cannot praise them enough. Rachel, you are fantastic! Thank you for a wonderful day!

LOVE! When my longtime stylist decided to back to grad school, I faced the epic struggle of finding a new one that I liked. I chose Sejour because of 1) its reviews, 2) its proximity to work and home, 3) the deal advertised on Yelp for $30 haircuts (for real). So glad I did. I'm really picky about my hair, and Anne did a great job. Sejour isn't super-trendy or luxurious, but it's a cute, relaxing spot. Plus, the salon doggie Milo is adorable. Even without the special, its prices are really great for a quality salon. I've found my new spot!

I had a great haircut as Sejour! Two actually.
The place is incredibly clean (they just opened recently), and the service was great. It was nice getting an education on the Aveda way of service from the two stylists that have cut my hair before. You really feel the pride they have in their craft.

This place is really great, and it is just what the NW Side needs! I visited Anne, who did a great job with my cut and color. I had my hair dyed light brown for the first time in YEARS, and needless to say I was a bit petrified. I'm happy to say I have no lingering regrets about this haircut or color, and it still looks good weeks after. Looking forward to going back to this little gem the next time I visit Chicago.

I adore this place!! I booked an appointment online a few weeks ago and looked forward to a pre-wedding pedicure and no-chip manicure. I was so happy to read all the positive reviews of this place so I was expecting a great experience prior to visiting. The parking situation at this salon is fabulous- lots of street parking and best of all, no pesky meters!! Yay! I parked right outside the front door and headed upstairs to the salon. The stairway was relaxing and prepped me for what I was to expect (it's weird to say that about a stairway but it's true). I opened the door and was greeted by the owner, Rachel. I felt like I was walking in to a friend's chic apartment and the friend was really happy to see me. Rachel shook my hand and called me by my first name which made me feel at home. I was introduced to Sam, the nail tech, and then led to the polish colors to make a choice. I'm very indecisive so it took a few minutes but Sam was patient. I climbed in to the chair for my pedicure and Rachel asked me if I wanted anything to drink and if I'd like a heating pad for my neck/shoulders. Yes, please!! I started playing with the massage controls for the chair and Rachel returned with my water and the heating pad. She also brought me some magazines and told me about an event they were hosting at the salon in a few days. Rachel was so enthusiastic and sincere about the event and it made me truly want to attend (unfortunately a pesky cold kept me from attending).
The pedicure was the best one I've ever had... despite my ridiculously ticklish feet. Sam was very understanding while I squirmed and tried to not giggle while she massaged my feet. After the amazing pedicure, it was time for the no chip mani. Sam helped me decide on a light pink, glittery combo for my nails. I really wanted a french mani but she didn't have the supplies for a no chip french mani at the time (she now has them). The color she recommended was beautiful! When I was done with the mani, I decided to take a look at some of their hair care products. Rachel helped me pick out an item (moroccan oil) appropriate for my type of hair (crazy naturally curly hair that is bleached and flat ironed daily, eeek!). I left the salon feeling great and wanted to tell everyone I knew about the great experience!
I went about 18 days before getting another no chip mani. Some tips for you first timers: don't pick at the nail if it looks like the bottom is coming loose. I made the mistake of doing that and it just makes things worse. Also, the no chip lasts for about 2 weeks. I waited longer and a few ended up peeing off, but that's after many nights of doing dishes, typing at work daily, and a softball game. I also recommend getting a lighter shade as it's not as obvious when the outgrowth starts to appear.
I came back to the salon on Saturday and brought my best friend with me. We both got no chips and I tried out a different color this time around- another light pink but not as glittery. The experience was once again unbelievably great! Everyone at the salon is pleasant, happy, and enthusiastic. You really feel like they want you there and aren't just in it to make a buck- they love the experience they are delivering to people and it shows. An extra bonus of going to Sejour: Milo the salon puppy who prances through the salon and provides you with extra entertainment! =)
I don't live anywhere near the salon but I would rather drive 25 minutes to this place than visit the salon 2 blocks from my house. I cannot say enough great things about Sejour and plan on returning again in 2 weeks for another no chip manicure. -
Review from Meredith K.

This might be a long review as I've been here twice now with great results both times. ;)
I originally came across Sejour's website when I was looking for a place to get a no-chip manicure in Chicago. I was driving home from the burbs a couple Saturdays ago and remembered I wanted to get this done, so I called and spoke with Rachel (the owner) to make an appointment. There was availability right then so I just ended up going straight to the salon.
Rachel was very warm and inviting when I arrived. Sam, the nail technician, was great and did a very nice job on my nails. She helped me pick a good color (I wanted something VERY neutral) and I was very pleased with the way my hands looked and felt after the manicure. The no-chip manicure is a little different than the regular manicure - the nails have to be very dry before the polish application so the lotion and massage comes after the nails are done. The first time I had this done I was amazed that the polish stayed on - I love no-chip for the fact that I can't smudge it immediately after the manicure is done.
I was chatting with Rachel post-mani when I mentioned that I had been considering a haircut - I had very long straight no-style hair that had a lot of broken ends. She mentioned a $25 cut/style special they had going on so with some trepidation I booked a hair appt for the following Saturday. I had read the good reviews about Anne, the stylist, but I'm very attached to my long hair and was nervous about how short it would be necessary to go in order to get a nice style. I met Anne the day I booked the appt and she has long hair so I hoped she would "get" how much I wanted to keep it long.
I fretted about it for a whole week, even coming close to cancelling the appt, but I'm so glad I didn't! I went in on the day of my appt and Anne took me to her chair. Before she even unleashed the scissors, we talked about my routine, the kind of time and energy and will I have to do anything to my hair (which is nil) and what I liked and didn't like. I emphasized how much I wanted to keep my length while getting some style and making my mane look healthy again, and I think Anne is some sort of hair wizard because she did it! She kept most of my length, gave me some cute layers, and didn't tease me too much when I looked down at the pile of hair on the floor and almost cried. ;) She used some new-to-me Aveda products and told me what she was doing each step of the way, which was important to me because I hadn't had a substantial real haircut (other than trims) in years and I wanted to know everything that was happening. We also talked about subtle color options - I like my color a lot but it's faded from red to strawberry blonde as I've gotten older and I have been thinking about punching it up a little. Anne suggested a colored toner or colored shampoo/conditioner - I've done neither yet but am thinking about it!
I was (and am) so pleased with my nails and cut that I've already recommended Sejour to a number of friends. It's relatively convenient for me, up in North Center, and the prices are very competitive, especially given that it's an Aveda salon. My manicure was $30 (pretty cheap for a no-chip mani) and the cut/style was $25 (really cheap for long hair!) Sure, I walked out with $75 worth of products too but hey, let's not talk about that. ;) I'll definitely be back for another haircut before too long! -

This salon is wonderful....went here for the first time today for a cut and was very impressed. The salon itself is beautifully designed and gives off a nice cozy and welcoming feeling.
I was instantly greeted, as asked if I wanted a beverage. I was asked what I wanted and during the entire process I felt free to mention what I liked and wanted altered. No hassle to snip a little here and more there. All the stylists I met while I was there were all sweet. I walked out with a great cut for a decent price..who can beat $30...
I will definitely go back and recommend the salon to others looking for that "right" place. -

In short: Amazing. Sam is perfection on nails (both mani and pedi) as well as eyebrow shaping; Ann is a genius with hair (protein treatment well worth the $$, never had such shiny, healthy hair); and Rachel is the most accomodating owner of the FINEST establishment for such services. Make an appointment and you're sure to get custom, five-start treatment; you'll never want to go elsewhere!

I was looking for a local place to get manicures and pedicures. I searched on Yelp for a location close to my home and Sejour popped up right away. I gave it a try a couple of weeks ago and was very happy with the service I received. I plan on going again this weekend. The shop is very clean and boutique like. The staff is very friendly. Keep up the good work!

I would highly reccommend Sejour! I followed my stylist, Marshall, to this salon and couldn't be happier with the services I receive! It took me a long time to find a regular stylist in Chicago, but I've now been getting my hair cut and colored by Marshall for about a year. He is just fabulous, and Sejour is an absolutely beautiful hair and nail salon. The owner is super sweet, and as another review said, very accommodating. To top it off, they only have the best products ( I use Aveda and Moroccan Oil).
If you haven't yet, check out this salon! You won't find better service for such a fair price. -

i went here for the first time last night for a mani/pedi, and i was very impressed. it's on the 2nd floor of a condo building, the third floor which is still a residential unit. it's very apparent in the updated and well decorated and clean environment. it was like being in someone's home the way there was a lot of open space.
rachel, the owner, is very friendly and you can tell she's very hands-on with her business. she warmed up a theraputic neck wrap for my shoulders, offered me a drink and chatted me up during my mani.
the manicure and pedicure themselves were very well done. i don't like when it takes me 2 hours for these types of appointments, so i was thrilled that i was in and out in 90 minutes. my one remark would be that i wish the technician did a little more cleaning under my nail bed, but other than that it was perfect. her massaging of my shoulders and upper back reminded me that it's time for me to get a massage (which rachel's brother has a massage therapy shop in the building as well, and her other brother owns a take-out/delivery japanese restaurant - very all-in-the-family there!).
i would definitely go there if you live in the neighborhood. prices are probably slightly above some of the lower service nail shops down western, but you pay for what you get. you can tell this place is very dutiful about cleanliness and sanitation - the technician cleaned my pedicure station after we were done while i had my hands warming in hot towels. they also have a special of some sort - somethig like buy 5 get the 6th free.Listed in: you're so vain...

I saw their $35 special for a mani/pedi here on yelp and thought I'd treat my friend to a birthday surprise. We got there after work and the ladies were so kind to us. We were never rushed and enjoyed a glass of wine while Sam did a fantastic job on our fingers and toes. We're not gals who normally indulge in things like pedicures, but the wonderful experience I had at Sejour may just turn me. My nails look so cute and the price is very affordable. I highly recommend checking them out!

My husband got me a gift certificate for a mani/pedi for Mother's Day at Sejour and I LOOOOOOVED it. Sam did my mani/pedi and was so great - a week later, and my nails still looked fantastic! Even my fingers - tough to do with two kiddos under the age of four! Rachel was so nice and made me feel so welcome. I will definitely go back!

I am picky about who cuts my hair and have been getting my haircut by the same person for several years. My friends sister opened Sejour and I thought it was only fair to show my support and go for a cut during the grand opening week. I was nervous, as I said, because I am picky about who cuts my hair. That said, I gave my faith and trust to Rachel - the owner - to put me in good hands. I was very surprised that it was a painless transition to let someone new cut my hair and she did a great job! The salon is very warm and cozy, it's "foofoo" but not too "foofoo" as I did not feel out of place as a guy there. Everyone was very friendly and like I said, did a fabulous job on my hair. I now have a new destination for my haircuts and couldn't be happier.

I was looking to get a mani/pedi after running a half marathon on Sunday. I checked out yelp and stumbled upon this amazing deal at Sejour ($30 mani/pedi through 9/18), just a couple of blocks from my place. It's easy to miss this amazing salon since it's on the 2nd floor of a brand new building, but trust me, you don't want to miss it.
Sarah gave me an amazing pedi/ mani, and I sat in the massage chair for at least 20 minutes getting completely pampered. Then I got a wonderful hand massage while enjoying york peppermint paddies and the great company of Rachel the owner.
I highly recommend this spa. By far the best north center/ lincoln square place around. I can't wait to get a hair cut there soon. -

First, I'd like to say that they are very accomodating! I made an appointment for a 6pm spa pedicure, but with an unpredictable work schedule and a 1 mile walk to the metra station, I didn't make it. I was 20 minutes late and they close at 7pm, but Rachel and Elena were very sweet in waiting and taking me in.
Second, I was taken back by the decor of the place. It had a nice homie feeling and very nicely decorated from top to bottom!
Third, back to the spa pedicure...it was a real spa pedicure. It wasn't rushed at all. Elena took her time and I was there for about 1hour and 15 minutes. I felt the suds in the spa chair spoof water - almost like a jacuzzi bath for your feet! Ooh I should tell you, there are real stones in the water and you can play and swish them around. It was a real nice touch to the experience. I was treated like a princess with a nice long massage on my legs and feet. I almost wanted to take a nap!!! Elena listened to what I wanted done and she more than achieved my expectations.
I highly recommend Sejour! I will definitely be back and try their other services. Thank you Sejour Hair Salon and Nail Spa for the wonderful experience I had there! You'll be seeing me again for future visits! -

This place is awesome! It was my first visit to this salon and I brought my 2 1/2 year old daughter with to get her hair cut as well. Everyone is SOOO friendly, Ann did a wonderful job cutting my and my daughter's hair, she even got her to sit still to blow dry her hair, something I can't even do. It was so much fun! This is definitely our new salon! Can't wait to go back for a mom & daughter mani/pedi date!

I too just found this place through Yelp and loved it- will definitely be going back. I had Sarah the manicurist for a mani-pedi and she was wonderful. For those who appreciate the massage part of the experience, it felt longer than typical manicures and pedicures. The owner was very welcoming. The place is new and very tastefully decorated. This is the kind of new business we should all be supporting. Rachel told me her brother owns "Mio Bento" (Japenese/Korean) I iwll definitely try it the next time I go.
