When I lived in Victoria slices here were $1 each which is deadly if you're willing to continually shove pizza down your throat as I am.
Someone had added a pic of the pesto pizza which is a great call and is a must try. My favourite though was the cheese pizza with creamy garlic sauce instead of tomato sauce.
I definitely paid my roommate (on more than one occasion) to go and get this pizza for me. It turned me into a pizza pimp. -

After ordering a first, second and regretfully a third slice later, I firmly believe that the pizza here is nothing close to great. Minimal toppings on a flat crust served really soggy came for about $5 with a drink. Discount? Yes. Good? No.
Yet all the kids on the island seem to recommend their slices as the only meal worth eating downtown!! So maybe I've been spoiled by all the great options in Vancouver. When I came back to the mainland I immediately got hungry for something fresh, greasy, and full of toppings, happily served to me by many great shops.
Yet in Victoria the options for cheap eats grow scarce. Second Slice, or Subway and McDonalds? Scary! -

Second Slice Pizza is a good place to stop for quick lunch at a reasonable price. Pizza slice specials are offered: Any 1 Slice with Pop ($2.48), Any 2 Slices with Pop ($3.79), Any 3 Slices with Pop ($5.19). There are around 5-6 different kinds of pizzas to choose from under the heat lamps all set to go. Besides pizza, chicken wings, bread sticks, garlic bread and salads are offered. The Coke fountain drinks are self serve and refills are 50 cents. Seating in front of the counter.
I had lunch here recently and got the 2 slice special: a slice of pepperoni and a slice of pesto with a Diet Coke. The pizza slices were nice and hot and had a thin soft firm crust and greasy toppings. The price was right for this decent quick lunch.
NOTE: This location offers pickup only. Delivery & pickup is offered at the other location up the street (1680 Douglas Street). -

The pizza may only cost $1.50 per slice, but you'll need at least two to satiate your hunger. But they have fairly adventurous toppings for slices, like pesto.
But unfortunately the crust and tomato sauce remind me of pizzas at various school cafeterias.
It beats Villages, but I'd recommend walking a block up to Pizza Pi (and paying double for a better slice of pizza, which may actually fulfill your appetite). -

Second Slice used to get decent reviews, so I tried it one time. The pizza slices were tiny, but cost about the same as everywhere else I went. They were kind of lukewarm, not hot, and the toppings just seemed stale and wilted. The sauce tasted about the same as the stuff in the cans, and the crust was very plain.
Maybe they had a bad night, or maybe they are in decline. Really disappointing though. -

It truly makes me laugh reading the reviews here that show disappointment over the pizza quality at second slice. The locals don't call it ghetto slice for no reason. It is cheap, it is fast, it is crap, its great if you're drunk or broke. It's not awful for what it is, but it's far from great. Don't go here expecting anything better than semi edible cheese on cardboard and you won't be disappointed, if you want gourmet pizza, there's some just down the road at pizza pi.

Eh. It was pizza. The garlic pizza slice I had was large but tepid, with the same excessively creamy richness that I associate with a bowl of mediocre fettucine alfredo. The cashier had an annoying habit of whistling along with the music. Fortunately, service was fast, and the quick snack I had here was over in less than 15 minutes.
