As cappafrappa coffee places go this one is excellent. Widely spaced, over-chaired and easy-listening it makes coffee drinking and iphone surfing an enjoyable affair.
As a stop off before downtown yoga it served its purpose and also gave me free internet. My suggestion is that you set up a Second Cup account before you head in as it takes a little time.
Bottom Line...both picturesque and convenient I'm sure I will be back. -

For some reason out of all the coffee chains I enjoy the Paradiso from Second Cup the most.
This location is pretty clean and always gets me in and out in no time. The staff is friendly attentive.
There are lots of seats here and I hear even free wifi. -

If you're looking for a place to sit and do some work, this is one of the best in the area. There are plenty of tables so finding a spot is not very hard (have you tried to find space at the Starbucks down the street??). The staff has always been friendly, and the manager is a nice guy.
Bring a laptop and connect to their wifi, all you need is a facebook account (although Boldstream does use your data for advertising purposes). I've found the connection to be pretty reliable.
I just wish they had healthier food choices than the plethora of sugary and starchy snacks that are on display here. I wish Second Cup would follow in Starbucks' footsteps and have some healthy options (like fruit & cheese). Yes they are overpriced, but I don't mind paying a bit more to snack on something that's not going to spike my blood sugar through the roof. Other than that, this second cup is a great place to hang out. -

This is a rather average location of a rather average chain. Like all other locations there is free wifi and an unobtrusive playlist. The coffee isn't good, but some flavors are drinkable with enough doctoring. Pastries and food are typically stale and expensive and should be avoided by discerning customers.
In this location there are plenty of seats, and seats of different types (comfy chairs, bar, normal tables, patio) so getting a seat is not hard. To work here is a bit difficult because there doesn't seem to be plugs throughout most of the place. It's noisier than most locations inside, and being at the corner of Bathurst and King sitting outside is really not an option if you plan to be able to hear anything besides traffic.
Second Cup cafes serve a limited range of standard cafe purposes, and this one is really only good as a place to kill time or meet somebody...and hop on the internet for a while if you need to check something or knock out a few emails. -

If you wanna see some crazy shit, this is the place to hang out! Enjoy a coffee while watching a homeless woman scream about aliens, threaten the employees with death and throw tables. This is also a good place for eavesdropping on first dates, blind dates, and breakups. It's never a dull moment at this location!
I enjoy the lattes, particularly the pumpkin spice, which sadly is seasonal only. Their croissants are so-so. I'll eat a cheddar one in a pinch, but generally avoid them in favour of something better.
Basically I just come here for the atmosphere. -

Second Cup's are Second Cup's and I've been to my share, but this one seems to capture the flavour of a fairly eclectic neighbourhood in a natural-non-corporate way. On King Street at Bathurst, its location puts it in the middle of the condo-clotted King Street West and the always hip-and-urban Queen Street West hipsterdom.
Art from local artists greet you as you enter and flyers for local plays and art exhibits are stacked at the fixings stations for you to peruse as you doctor up your double-double. The staff are typically young, earnest, and helpful. Not sure if they still run this, but it used to be that if you bought a bag of coffee beans (ground or otherwise from their very decent selection) you got a free coffee for your troubles. You bet that I'm going out of my way for that. This is the Second Cup upon which I compare all others in the franchise.
I'll keep you posted as to whether they still do the free coffee thing. I'm running low on beans at home.
