Awesome. A Seattle team to not be ashamed of that is consistently the standard of ass-kickery.
I go waaaaaaaaaaay back to the Kingdome with these guys, then to Memorial Stadium in the 90s when the murmurings of their return to the spotlight were sending shivers through the spine of the Whitecaps, and now to the big arena. BACK WHERE THEY BELONG!
They've always had some superb talent, a trait which is hit and miss on the other local teams. Soccer rules. -

Being a lifelong soccer fan, I was ecstatic when Seattle got the Sounders via MLS expansion. Not a soccer fan after only watching it every 4 years on TV? You will be after going to one of the matches, with the crowd roaring and chanting and singing beside you. Easily one of the best live sporting events I've ever been to.

I always get so pumped up for Sounders matches!!! I love everything about the team - the uniforms, players, coach, etc. I especially love the enthusiasm and dedication of fans when we go to matches. It's amazing to see that fandom and the Sounders totally deserve it. Sure, they're not the most perfect and Freddy comes off as cocky... it don't matter! They're the one team that the Emerald City can be so proud of! And I absolutely love the Sound Wave band too. They're superb and make me happy.

Go Sounders! Fun to watch and cheer for them on TV, but it is an incredible experience in person. Even if you are not generally a sports fan, I highly recommend going to a match. You will not regret it and it just might make a Sounders fan out of you too.

I never really liked or payed attention to soccer until the 2010 World Cup and after that I was hooked!
Sounders games are so fun and everyone is just cheerful and you're in a great mood!
If you think soccer is boring, wait til you come watch it live! It will change your mind for sure!! -
Review from Nick P.
Wow, it's like a real sport and everything! How cute!
Putting aside the fact that soccer is irrelevant to the American sporting landscape, this was surprisingly fun. The trendy Seattle folk seem to have really embraced the Sounders, chants and songs included, and good for them. The city deserves something to cling to after the Supersonic debacle.
The 7-0 loss to Man U was a bit laughable, but hey. Not like anyone expected a victory here. -

I know I am, I'm sure I am amazed by the awesome customer service in the box office on Sounder game days! This is a review I keep meaning to write and finally remembered to. We had our tickets for kasey keller's last game, and when we found out my brother & his girl were going to be in town, we got seats by ours off of Stubhub for them. However when we got there, we found out that the stubhub seller hadn't done his end of whatever he was supposed to do to notify that the tickets weren't his anymore. This was a big game night and it was super busy, but three of the ladies in the will call area were making phone calls, doing everything they could to make sure we were going to be able to see this game. It was really cool of them to try so hard to make their customers happy, even when they were so slammed. They got ahold of the ticket seller, and got us into the game with time to spare, and a great time was had by all!

Love the Sounders! Not only are they an excellent team, but they play well, every game I've been to (not many, but a few) they've won, and the fans are just awesome! I love Seattle's team spirit for the Sounders. If you want a super fun experience at their game, try to get tickets in the ECS area where they pound on drums, chant songs, and wave flags...SO much fun!
I couldn't be happier that Seattle got such a great sports team! -

I am a huge fan of the Sounders, and a season ticket holder. I will continue to support the Sounders no matter what, because they are my team, and they are awesome. I am not a fair weather fan like most Sounders fans I have come across via Facebook, and at games. Seriously people, whatever happened to Sounders til I die? It should probably be more like Sounders till they lose. They lose one game and everyone is like "they suck".
Also, everyone is very un-sportsman. Booing the other team. And telling the goalie "you suck a**hole" whenever he makes a kick. Its so childish and rude. All the other team did was play for the wrong team. Sure some players deserve to get booed, like Beckham. But the rest of them are just doing their job. Lighten up.
Overall though, great fans. I love how many people show up for games, and cheer for the home team. But maybe everyone, lets try being a little nicer? You can still be loud and cheer, but maybe don't be so negative.
Seriously. -

A Seattle Sounders game is much more than just another match between an opponent, its event, better yet, an experience unlike no other in the United States.
I finally had the pleasure of attending a Sounders game against my beloved Galaxy and I just came away impressed with the fervent support Sounders fans have for their team. From the Brougham End faithful cheering all game to the stadium wide claps, each game is a celebration of the beautiful sport that is soccer.
Fortunately my team won this night, however if i ever moved to Seattle, it would be hard not to root for the Sounders because of the fan-friendly environment that has been nurtured by the front office and the great experience that is attending a Sounders game. -
Review from Beau S.
Probably one of my favorite things in the world is attending a Sounders game and really my biggest regret for leaving Seattle for Vegas. I have been a Season ticket holder since their inception and even though I live in Las Vegas I still try to attend as much as possible. I have sat pretty much everywhere from the sideline seats, the charters seats, the northend all you can eat, and my Season seats in 113. Everywhere is amazing! This is one of the things where the crowd and energy really make it the best too, the supporters groups are awesome and the cheers they create very well orchestrated. Also the presentation of the announcers, golden scarf, constant standing is perfect. ...By the way 200 level um I know your seat has a cushion but stand and quit complaining if people stand in front of you.
OH Sounders how much I miss you!! -
Review from Andrew C.
While it was very hard to pretend to cheer for "The Enemy," I still had a really good time at the Sounders vs. Real Salt Lake game a few weeks ago.
I love that Seattle is able to pull the kind of crowds for soccer needed to fill up the 40,000ish available seats in Qwest.
I don't love how childish the fans are, though. Everyone knows some heckling is to be expected in soccer but the juvenile, "You suck asshole" thing is a little overdone. http://www.youtube.com... Every goal kick? Really?
Also, the Emerald City Supporters were a total let down. I figured in a city so large, with game attendance being so incredible (and the highest in MLS) that the ECS section would be much more lively and much larger. Nope. Just about three sections total and quite flat. The Timbers Army has that beat twenty times over and they're not even MLS (yet).
And that one chant... "The bluest skies you've ever seen."
Do any of you look upwards during the year? More like "The grayest skies you've ever seen." We -do- live in the Northwest.
I'd love to come back for another game but it's going to be awhile. Keep cursing at players, Seattle fans. That shit is just so classy! -
Review from Dan L.
The super high energy cheering fanatics are sure to amuse even non-soccer fans. I am really amazed at the attendance this club has drawn in since they came to Seattle. It's good to see so many people go out and cheer for a sport that is typically not very popular in America.
I liked that they gave out free programs, although all they really had in the pages were a few adverts and some glossies of each team. Still it was nice to have something to look at before kickoff.
If you want an instant B-12 shot for your spirits, simply start one of the many chants heard while at a game. With any luck you will have 30k+ people chanting along with you before long. -
Review from Akili P.
It's official. I am a Seattle Sounders fan. I'm from Los Angeles, so I would normally say I was a Galaxy fan. But, Seattle is growing on me bit by bit. But for now, the Sounders is my first team in Seattle I can say that I am a fan of.

What can you say about this great team and fans in Qwest Field?? This is something that you have to try out for yourself at least once. I bet you'll be coming back for 2nd.
I'm a season ticket holder and I love going to the games and having a good time with my family and friends. You see the people that you sit next to over and over (in my case I like them) and talk to them. Bartenders are my favorite as well when they know me by my first name!
And when the Sounders come out on the Field, that is when the crowd goes NUTS! People start to chant with the South end supporters and along with the whole crowd. The green and blue confetti starts to come out and that is when the game is just about to get under way. -

Seattle has been waiting for you !!! SOUNDERS !!!!
It's our turn after a long winter to have a large happy focused good time watching an excellent team play and rep our beautiful city!
I had the good fortune to work the first game. I might not have had the chance to attend otherwise. I am so glad I did!!!! I was so uplifted by the fans, the general good vibes which filled the entire area and the happiness!!!!!! And I was given a Sounders scarf!
You need to go to a game. You will need to get tickets in advance. People are so ready for happiness and a good team to cheer for.

Im not gonna lie, and say Im a huge fan of soccer. But last night, little boy and I went down for the pre-game festivities. It was AWESOME, so much passion..so much GREEN!!!
Let me tell ya..usually you can score tickets to any event in seattle..not the case last night. I could not get any tickets..which sucked. But we had a good time before the game...little boy kicked the ball around with some dudes in the parking lot..had a cream cheese dog..saw drew carey, and got funky with the sounders band.
Good job sounders on a great night!!! -

It's about time Football came to the US!! I love the Seattle fans! We've broken attendance records left and right and set the bar so high that no other FC comes close!
The only thing I don't like is how prudish America is when it comes to profanity and heckling. Deal with it! Go to any sporting event in any other country and see how the crowds really are!

What Seattle Freeze?
Seattle WARMLY welcomed the Sounders MLS team to Qwest Field last Thursday night! The enthusiastic crowd filled the stadium and stood proudly waving their scarves the entire match while chanting and singing. The Sounders reciprocated by shutting out the Redbulls 3-0!
Seattle is in the lead with the most season tickets sold! I guess we just reserve the warmth for things deserving of it, such as finally bringing the world's game to our lovely city! A team full of talent at that, it's going to be a great season!
I would trade Basketball for Soccer any day for sure!!! Go Sounders! -

So, I guess as a partial season ticket holder I should write a review, right? I love Sounders FC games...and the old USL Sounders were pretty great too. One of the cool things about going to see a soccer game in Seattle is not just the game itself, but, the fans. We have more players per capita than any city Seattle's size in the US...so basically the fans are players. It's sweet. The team is just going to get better and better. You've gotta love the enthusiasm of the Emerald City Supporters too...

Oh man, I am so pleased that soccer is finally in Seattle. I am a huge fan and I love to watch, especially live. It took wayyy too long to get an MLS team into our city, but now that the Sounders are here, I am ecstatic.
There's nothing more fun than getting decked out in blue and green and screaming for my boys. This team is great. Kasey Keller is a god. -
Review from Joe B.
We have just experienced our first loss of the season and it still seems right. I must say that the ownership of this team has pulled all the right strings and made all the right moves. The PR department should be commended for turning this soccer club into the next "IT" thing in Seattle.
It's the little things that make it right. Giving the season ticket holders special scarves. March to the Match. Drew Carey as the connection between the fans and the club. It was all brilliant and probably the most important thing of all was bringing Sigi in to be the coach of a hodge podge group of players that have provided entertaining play. The fans love this team and we get the impression that they love us back.
Go Sounders!!!!!! -
Review from Doug C.
Where to begin writing a review about a sports franchise? Do they get docked stars everytime they make a bad acquisition? Should it be based on their record? If they win or lose a game should the rating be adjusted accordingly?
I suppose of all of those, a review would be more about the management and fan friendliness of the club. Since, after all, fan experience is the point of a sporting event (other than crushing the hopes and dreams of the franchise of another municipality leaving their fans lamenting until the next year.....) and the Sounders do great on that score. I love the way it was organized: fan friendly "Marches to the Match", Drew Carey, the fact that club members actually get to vote on keeping the General Manager. All nice touches that get people involved with the club. -

Gotta love hot boys playing soccer!!! The Sounders put on a great show, and Qwest is the perfect venue for them. The whole place fills up with green and blue, and everyone sings and jumps up and down.

Go team!
While their very first season is yet to be completed, I'm hoping the Sounders will bring the love of soccer to the masses in this city, and am thankful for the potential opportunity for drunken cheering of a sport I can actually follow, in beautifully appointed Qwest stadium, possibly co-opting my non-soccer-enthused friends into going with me. They even have a band, which is the best mainstay for cheering when people get discouraged (say..when awesome Kasey Keller got that red card..) and forget to cheer. -

The Sounders games are amazing. I was a season ticket holder their second season in the MLS and enjoyed each and every home game. Fans are wild but not out of control. Any seat in the stadium is a good seat.

Fuckin' Sounders man.
Keller actin smug as fuck, James Riley (a coach's goddamn dream), Marshall & Alonso kicking ass, Jaqua & "Red Shoes" Le Toux slamming shit in, Montero & Zakuani being awesome & Ljungberg leading it all.
What more can you want? It's football in Seattle and it is awesome.
Shit we have a marching band (thank you Drew) and krew rolling through Pioneer Square before every home match. What? Yeah. Sounders FC holding it down. -

Well done, Seattle. Consistent 40,000+ crowds at an MLS game. There might be hope for soccer/football in this country after all. You are the model for all US soccer teams.
The atmosphere is energetic. The venue is great. The crowds are outstanding. The tickets are affordable (if you can grab some before they're sold out!)
I can't say enough about this team and the crowd. This is THE sports team to follow in Seattle. Even if you're not a huge soccer fan, it is well worth your time to check out a Sounders game.
Also, make sure to check out http://Soundersfc.com and get details on how to participate in all the fun extracurricular activities (March to the Match, Soundwave [band], etc.) -

In my second year as a season ticket holder, I'm still loving the Sounders, despite the league's inability to find decent refs and the team's penchant for not finishing their chances.
If you're someone who has to see tons of points on the board to be happy and shares the typical American criticism of soccer that "nothing happens," the Sounders probably aren't for you.
If you enjoy the sport or are just hoping to give it a try, the game day experience is well worth it. The Sounders may not impress those whose point of comparison is the Champions' League or World Cup, but the games are always enjoyable and the teams evenly-matched such that there is rarely a blow-out and usually a tense moment or two. The supporters really give it their all and, while the big flags can be annoying and loudspeakers used to start cheers absolutely ridiculous, this is about as lively a group of fans as you'll find.
Be warned, if you are a long-time soccer/football fan, you will hear fans in the stands misrepresenting the sport and confused about the rules. I don't know how many times I've heard someone complain "that was out, the ball was ON the line!" That said, the fans are trying, they're getting better in their understanding of the game is improving quickly. Above all, they love their team, so you really can't complain -- but you can turn around and politely explain the rules if you know them. The fans seem to appreciate the information. -

It's amazing how many soccer fans there are here in the states! Qwest field was nearly packed today with avid soccer fans cheering on for the Sounders. I was proud of Seattle :) Although the weather was rainy, cold and windy, I still had a pretty good time watching the game. This was my first Sounders game, and although we lost, it was still fun to watch. I'll be trying to get ahold of more tickets in the future!
