It is really hard to say anything about Sears, but in Brentwood mall, when the other department store is Zellers, I guess you need one of these to pick up on all the stuff that the other places in this mall do not sell. I come here from time to time to look at the bigger ticket items, and I'm not talking about electronics (as you could go to London Drugs to see the big TV's). They have washers, drawers, stove tops, those big things that no one else in this mall carries, and for a lack of having a 'Bay' store anywhere near this place (as I think the closest is either Metrotown or Lougheed Mall) they are situated in a great place.
The store has 3 floors, even though the mall only has two floors, and the layout is very clean, with the isles having tons of walking space. The upstairs of this store carries many higher end kitchen items and small appliances, and the main (middle) floor is the same as the rest of the big box department stores, with your big make-up counters and a selection of dress clothes.
When I'm looking for other things, I may come here, but still out of all the 'Sears' locations, downtown is still where to go! -

Oh Sears. First I hated you when I was a child and you weren't Eatons (where my Daddy worked).
Now I hate you because you are Sears. And you aren't even the Sears I hated when I was a child. You've changed. You've farmed out your various departments to other companies. Customer Service? That's a joke. Your policies with regards to inventory for online purchases?Annoying, and a Rip-Off.
Walking into or near a Sears store is difficult for me, impossible for some. Sears, Please stop perfume-bombing the world with your expensive perfume department. Perhaps if you got rid of this toxic welcome mat, more people would enter your store. -

I'd always written off Sears as my grandparents' department store - kind of dowdy but serviceable. But I have to say, on a recent trip to buy some new jeans, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well laid-out the place was, unlike The Bay, which now is the one that seems a little unkempt.
The store at Brentwood is one of the larger of the suburban-mall Sears, with three floors instead of two. Sears also has pretty frequent sales, which means that whatever you want to get should be 40% off at some point.
Anyway, I'm sure that for some people this would be a bonus, but Brentwood Mall sees fit to situate it's children's play area right outside of Sears' makeup and ladies wear departments. So, while trying to buy a tube of designer lipstick and a pair of Levis, I had to endure the constant screams of children. It's not at all relaxing to listen to sounds you didn't know a human being could make.
