Who says Sauga is a boring place?
This is a good place to relieve your fatigue and stress. The rink is quite huge. I was worried about getting bumped into other people, but it turned out that there is more than enough space to glide your way through. People are generally nice as well. The music is usually 70s-80s rock and disco. It really puts you in the mood!
They have roller blades (straight aligned wheels) and roller skates (2 wheels at front and 2 wheels at the back). Rental is around $5 ish. The admission price is somewhere around $10-$15. If you are getting bored with roller skating in circles, there are foods, pool tables and arcades. I never really felt stuffy in there. No weird smells. It is a nicely ventilated facility.
The skates are nicely maintained. I have yet to come across damaged pairs that hurt my feet. The fits are pretty nice too. I didn't have muscle pains in my ankle area after riding for a couple of hours. But that may depend on each individual.
Great place for all ages. My parents loved hanging out at this place. My date (she was 23 in 2009) loved this place. My young relatives (10-13?) loved this place. -
Review from Aviva S.
I love retro, old-fashioned things and going to a roller skating place has always been on my bucketlist. I finally got to cross it off and I'm glad it was at Scooter's.
Perhaps this is more of a 4 or 4.5 star review but i don't give a lot of 5 stars and this place made my week. If you were rollerskating with a brilliantly tacky disco ball and shining colourful lights while Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" were playing, you probably would too.
The hours and prices vary and the price depends on when you go as there is times for all ages and some only for adults. It ranges between $7-$13 which I think is very reasonable. Adult skating often goes well into the night.
The music selection is great as it flows well between clubbish songs, 80's rock, rock and roll like AC DC, and even stuff like Aqua's "Barbie Girl" (you'll try to act cool but the fun'll take over).
Their skates are either the traditional 4 wheel ones or those that look more like rollerblades. Both are $3.75 per person and they have all the sizes.
They are open on most long weekends where they have special contests and games. They also have special events with different music nights like old school nights.
They have a snack bar including pizza, they do birthday events (they have loot bags), they have a video arcade, pool table, ice hockey, fun old games like the love doctor machine, and they sell vintage rollerskates and tapes.
They offer skating lessons for beginners for both adults and children
Check their website for a few rules they have on the Hours and Pricing Page.
They take debit or cash only (odd but refreshing for people like me who are turned down with debit too often).
Overall, this place is FUNNNNN. Children have smiles on their faces and the adults are singing along to the music like they're teenagers all over again.
DON"T STOP BELIEEEEEEEVVING. *clears throat* Check it out. :)
