$4.20 for a pizza is a bit much these days, but if the pizza tastes lovely, who cares about the extra toonie?

It just tastes healthier and lighter than the other fast food pizza places.

I'm worth it. but not  everyday, lol

If Sciue had better pastries, they would get 5 stars.  They have the best Americano in town, very strong and potent, delicious.  It's always a treat when I get to go there.  A lot of Americanos are just not strong enough.  The only other place with an equally good one is Trafiq Cafe on Main.  Their baked goods are not bad, they are okay, but not as good as some other local shops. Having said that, they do have very wide selection.

I think Vancouver has really raised the bar for cafes/coffee shops especially with so many independently owned ones popping up everywhere.  Their pizza is really good and you get to choose how much to cut off, it's Roman style pizza sold by the weight. My favorites are smoked salmon and bocconcini/tomato.

Some restaurants are worth visiting for just one dish.

The smoked salmon pizza at Sciue is in a category all on its own.  I realize you may not instantly associate smoked salmon and pizza, but trust me you will.

The tomato sauce is baked on a think crust pizza, then a layer of delicate mayonnaise is applied and finished with a layer of salad greens.  The delicate smoked salmon is generously layer on top.

I sprinkle a few hot pepper flakes on top to add spice.

You can order the pizza in exactly the quantity you want.  You will wish you ordered more!

(Sciue tends to be better at lunch, the selection is better.)

Based on the fact that the pizza smells so delish and that they have a panini called the Cinque Terre, I am upping them to 3. But really only 2.5.

Outside of the name (named after the amazing fishing villages that dot the west coast of Italy), the panini was bland. Chicken, salad, cheese... nothing stood out. Not even grilled. The only thing I can give credit to was the mostly floury, almost flat bread. But at the $8.50 price point I think my moola would be better spent if I booked a flight back to my favourite place in Italy.

Breakfast frittata for $5.50 (can share between 2) plus 2 decent americano = $12.15  Add a Chambella (Roman Doughnut) $2.  Nice people.  Lots of international students working there so one practices patience and a new language each time.

This is the first time I've been to the Yaletown Scuie and my experience up at Dunmuir has been wonderful. On a Saturday afternoon on a chilly fall day - I was super hungry.. and craved their flatbread. I remember going into the other bakery that their counter was filled with an assortment of meaty and vegetarian options... today however, the counter was about half-full (probably because the weekend doesn't attract as many people).. and many more vegetarian options. I'm a fan of less meaty options but I felt that many of them were only cheese filled, and there wasn't that much variety. I opted for the spinach and ricotta flatbread, aka foccacia (101 BEST EATS IN VANCOUVER), which for a small piece cost just over $4.00. A little over pricey, and I wish that the flatbread was hotter when heated and brought to me.. but still tasty none the less.
We also ordered freshly squeezed orange juice which was SOOO yum.... my bf asked whether sugar may have been added... and I didn't think so.. and I sure hope not because I would be upset I love a cup of purely squeezed, 100% orange.
A nice patio looking at the roundhouse... perfect spot on a nice day.

Still very worth it and worth trying... at least a couple of fresh flavours for an overall experience!
