Review from Richard B.

Sorry to disappoint those of you who have your own favourite little local coffee-tea place, but Say Tea is the best by several country miles. I know because to get their rich, gorgeous coffees and teas, I have to travel about eight miles. Oh, I've tried all the rest along the way, but their coffees go off faster, their teas are blander. Say Tea is the place for the best, maybe not the cheapest, choices. The service is phenomenal, friendly and precise. The atmosphere, milieu, cannot be beat, and I agree that I'd like it to have a comfy chair or two because I could settle in for an hour easily; but then they'd have to cut back on some of the extra goodies they carry. And please give their windows a good look over; they are fun and festive and make it clear that this is a welcoming and warm place to shop. Say Tea is a special place and I look forward to going, not only because I can stock up, buty because it is s perfect place to go for an eight mile outing. It never disappoints, but seems to always exceed itself.

There is not as good a Tea-Coffee-Gift shop anywhere in North America. The staff is superb, which is… Read more »

Review from Danielle D.

After living in the Junction for awhile and breezing past Say Tea dozens of times, when I finally did venture in, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience!
The owner was really funny and helpful when I explained that I love earl grey, way too much, especially super flowery ones, so she helped me settle with Double Bergamot and sent me on my merry way.
So after some ardent price comparison with David's Tea, which I used to purchase from time to time in the neighbourhood, oh uneducated me, I'm spending so much less on such quality tea now!
Most teas at Say Tea are around 6.95 for 100 grams as they cut deals for buying in larger quantity unlike David's Tea where stuff as simple as Earl Grey starts at $9 for 100 grams, and unlike David's, the staff here really know their stuff and can give ACTUAL OPINIONS, such as "I don't like oolong myself" as opposed to the generic "All flavours are great!" shpiel you get at a chain store.
All in all, I'm going back...that is as soon as I wake up out of my Double Bergamot coma. -

I been trying to go to the other Say Tea II location on Yonge at Eglinton but they always close so early on Sundays... and I was delighted that I can finally visit one of their stores.
Say Tea is a lot more traditional Victorian tea shop when compare to the newer franchise of DavidTea or Teaopia.
The decoration is more traditional and they also carry more traditional style tea set accessories.
They do have a huge selections of tea. In order to sample or smell some of their tea, you will need staff assistance.. and with only 2 staffs working on a busy Sunday Christmas Shopping rush.. basically you will be out of luck.
The store inside is a little cramped too... but it was fun browsing around.Listed in: Loose Leaf Teas!, A Day in High Park!

This is a fantastic little shop to buy loose-leaf tea (and coffee beans, too).
You can walk in and ask, "What do you have in a strong breakfast tea?" and get a number of solid recommendations, which is pretty helpful since there are so many blends to choose from. Next, they'll bring you a big jar of what interests you, so you can have a whiff of each option and make a final choice.
Prices tend to be a few bucks an ounce, but the quality is way above the usual supermarket stuff, and since a little tea goes a long way, it may even be a better deal. Think of Say Tea as a bulk store for tea and coffee, only with a stylish and homey atmosphere.Listed in: My Neighborhood

My favourite place to buy tea - can't speak for the coffee beans cause don't drink it but the quality & selection for tea rocks.
You can go in knowing what you want or you can ask for suggestions and get really informed recommendations. My last trip I wanted a recommendation for a green tea I could drink at work and after smelling several types I walked away with a terrific Japanese Sencha.
Not inexpensive but the taste, helpful &informed staff more than makes up for it. -

This is a great place to buy tea. They have a nice selection of green and white tea and are very happy to provide recommendations. We have a few faves... I don't remember them right now but I'll try to update this review when I remember.
As mentioned by Kim B., this isn't a cafe. It's a store. It's a great place to buy gifts for any tea lovers too. -

This is a great place to buy some high quality tea and coffee. I especially like the staff here, they're very friendly and they seem to know their stuff.
But keep in mind, this is not a tea and coffee "cafe", there's no where for you to sit and enjoy a cup. It only offers "to go" if you feel like having a cup now rather than making one later.
The store is more of a tea gift shop, they sell a wide variety of mugs, teapots, etc in addition to tea and coffee.
It's cozy (which is why I wish there was somewhere to sit down because I'd like to stay for a minute) but the big downside for me is they only sell one type of chamomile tea! Just regular chamomile. No blends. And to that I say not TEA, but Say What?! -

Like Danielle D. wrote, Say Tea is a lot cheaper than David's Tea; many teas start at $3.95/50g, and the rooibos at $4.25/50g, both of which tend to start at roughly $6.50 at David's Tea. However, 50g is the minimum you can buy at Say Tea, which is kind of a bummer if you like to purchase a little bit of many different kinds. I'll continue to come here when I know what I want, but do my experimenting elsewhere.
