This is the fitness centre located within the Saville Sports Centre. It's owned by the University of Alberta, but is not part of the One-pass card system which gives you access to all university fitness facilities.
It has its own special membership and it's cheaper - about $350 a year or $225 for students - but it's also not very busy and you don't have to be intimidated by hard core body builders; it's an average person's gym. Also, when you're using the cardio equipment you can look through onto the curling sheets.
The Saville curling rink is one of the very best in the country, so you never know when you might catch a Brier-worthy moment. I like this gym for these reasons, and also because there's very high quality, newer equipment. The change rooms are clean and some of the nicest I've seen. They don't have a crappy, germ-ridden lockerroom feel. There's even carpet in some areas.
