This place is now known as Royal Furniture Ltd (formerly know as Save on Furniture).
They used to be on East Hastings but are currently on 2607 Main St (@ 10th Ave), Vancouver, BC V5T 3E7
I wanted to like this place for the longest time as it is within walking distance from my house, but there are some major issues with this place. I have been in the store 3-4 times, but have had less than stellar experiences.
It is impossible to navigate. While there is much excitement and fun in scavenging through clutter and pile-ups, it is helpful if there are ways to navigate the maze. In this store, there isn't. I once asked if I can get into an aisle to look at the books, and the owner (who is a South Asian) said no. Why have merchandise if you cannot look?
The owner changes the prices on you and has bad business practices. Often the owner works there with a son (?) or younger family member. They often change the prices on you. I have been quoted prices in one visit to be quoted another price in the next--for the EXACT SAME ITEMS. Often the owner remarks how much he paid for this item and that item when in fact this seems highly unlikely. I know people in the used electronic business in Vancouver, and I know for a fact that they get equipment for FREE--often from tenants leaving stuff behind in their apartments. Usually it benefits the apartment building managers that a store selling used merchandise takes these goods off their hands. I don't know if this is the case at this particular store, but often the owner (and his younger worker) speaks about how valuable such and such an item is by quoting how much he paid for them in efforts to making you think you're getting a great deal.
I've altogether stopped going here and won't give them any business. I don't recommend this place when there are others in the Mt. Pleasant area that carry better prices, are more organized, and treat customers fairly and respectfully. -

What a dump....why is it some used furniture places think that it's ok to just stack it up everywhere in huge piles??? How can you possibly tell what's in there??? Chairs thrown in a pile..then stacked with picture frames..then topped with some dishes??? What the f-bomb?? You think I wanna root through all that just to maybe find something of worth??And really..all the stuff that Super Save has is junk..not even worth paying money for....no hidden gems in this crap hole...I am shuddering just thinking about walking through there....I think what really put me over the edge on the whole experience were the huge rat dropping all over the place...and every so often you could hear a little scratching and movement in one of the piles...I just knew it was something stalking me like prey waiting to give me rabies...eekkkkk...so awful...how is this place even able to stay in business??
