This place is cheap, no-frills but surprisingly fresh sushi. You order at the register and then they bring you the food at your table. I recommend going with the nigiri. The rolls were pre-made, heavy on the rice and light on the fish.

Only beer or sake is available.

Note: they only accept cash (no $US) or debit cards.

the roll and nigiri we had we fine..not great not awful..but the gyoza and agedashi tofu!!..OMG , JUST DISGUSTING.
All is pre fried and then microwaved? not sure the tofu were little over fried pieces, kind of chewy. the gyoza, can you really call them that? pre fried bread like dough, heated up and the filling was kind of a grey powder of meat?
never again..cheap yes but all is pre made based on how fast it comes out of the kitchen, 7 people in the kitchen, all with long hair (hats yes but whats the use). spend a few pennies more and go where the food is good. In all my years of eating sushi in the lower mainland have I ever had food as bad as this.

This place is cozy. Love the tempura udon when you get sinus attack. Decent meal after an awesome ski day, especially with hot sake. Son had beef teriyaki wrap which he didn't share. My girl had chicken bento with California rolls and edamame. Papa bear had sushi plate. We enjoyed our New Year's day meal there!

And you table for 1 diners, please don't take the big booth if you're gonna camp and surfing your iDevices! It's just plain rude.

Samurai Sushi isn't great sushi by any means.  In fact, it's adequate at best.  However, the speed of service and the low prices make it a good choice, considering half of Whistler is out of reach for the average person.  Best yet, they're open all afternoon, unlike the other places that open at 5:30 (and just flat out doesn't work for our schedule).

For those wanting freshly made sushi of high quality, you probably will want to go elsewhere and pay more, but if you need a quick bite to eat at an affordable price, Samurai is worth a visit.

Whistler has some hidden places with good value and this is one of them. If you come to Whistler for attentive waiters, high quality sushi and intimate atmosphere, you should probably look elsewhere. However, if you like good value (read: reasonable prices and good-sized portions) this place is for you. I live in Whistler and rarely eat out - maybe twice per month - this is one of them.

It's mainly a take-out place, but there is seating and it may be limited. However, the staff are friendly and the selection and value are good.

The words affordable and Whistler are not often found in the same sentence but Samurai Sushi continues to offer great meals at reasonable prices. The service is fast and the food is always fresh, which is probably because they are always busy. Samurai offers daily specials in regular sizes, sumo sizes and vegetarian. They also have an "a la carte" menu for dining in or takeout.

Samurai Suchi is a great takeout spot; quick, not too expensive, and fairly good quality. Not my first choice for a dine-out restaurant, but as takeout, it's a good option. If you like shrimp temoura rolls, make sure you say "roll" a few times, because I've gotten home with deep-fried shrimp sticks on more than one occasion!
