You can't be a Londoner, a visitor to London or a drunken bar reveller without having had Sammy's at some point. The price has gone up since I used to frequent the road side ones in my college days but that being said the food is still top notch.
I'm all about the Chicken Souvlaki and onion rings but this place has a little bit of everything for the 'street meat' crowd. Pogos, Fries, Hamburgers, Gyros, Salad. I've never eaten in the restaurant one and usually frequent the one at Richmond & Carling.
This is a family run business including the store front one but I find the staff/family members that run the R&C branch to be the friendliest. They always ask how I've been even if they haven't seen me in a bit (I used to work at the SBUX down there so they saw me all the time then) and they always take my requests for things like extra napkins, malt vinegar if it isn't already out on the ledge. -

I've no idea why Sammy's is so well regarded on Yelp. The food is average at best and is mostly something that is frequented after last call. Not a great value in terms of cost either. In terms of post-last-call food, you're better off going to Stobey's.

I've lived in London for almost 2 years now, and everyone always raves about Sammy's Souvlaki. Personally, I don't get the big attraction. I've been to Sammy's a few times, and the poutine is OK, but that is about all I would get! They serve their Souvlaki dinner with french fries instead of rice and potatos! To me, that is NOT greek food. Also, when I got their salad, I did not receive the creamy salad dressing that is usually served on a Greek salad. Instead, it was covered in a red, oily sauce that made me hesitant to eat it. Many of my friends like Sammy's (not Greek food enthusiasts), but personally, I would never recommend going to Sammy Souvlaki in London if you are craving real Greek food.

A night out downtown is not complete without Gyro lite onions lite tomatoes and extra Tzatziki sauce... Do yourself a favour a grab a stack of napkins and a fork because it's gonna be messy and not at all pretty - but, you WILL BE HAPPY!!

I love the Gyro meals here! You get a greek salad, fries, and a gyro for about $9. Taste's amazing! and it's ready pretty quickly as well. The only thing is the staff seem to hate their job and the restaurant itself is never very clean. But other than that the food is amazing though!
