Review from Emily-Anne P.

When I'm looking for a soap I want something that is going to love me, adapt to my natural skin acidity and oils, be with me through thick and thin, lather, foam, caress, moisturize and nourish me for ever (or at least until I get a new bar).
I am a goats milk soap devotee, mostly because of how silky smooth it leaves my skin and so today when I was out adventuring for my next bar choice and came across the sale at Saltspring Soapworks I decided it was time to take the plunge.
The goats milk they use here is actually from the same farm as the goats milk cheese, from Saltspring, a discovery that made me quite happy. They have goats milk soap in a variety of different kinds, however I went with the larger bars of the chamomile which were on sale (5 for $20). I also picked up some lavender and spicy soap.
The woman in the store was more than happy to let me know that the lavender was from her neighbour, which I will admit made me happy to know.
For $20 I got 5 rather large bars of soap and instructions on how to ensure that they last as long as possible. When I use them I have cut them up into smaller sized pieces, I'm not sure if this will lengthen their life but I think so.
I highly suggest stopping in to pick up some soap because you wont regret it. Mmmhhmmm silky smooth. -

Bought some soaps as gifts and for myself. They are terrific smelling soaps that feel great. The rest of the selection at the store is great as well
However, buyer beware about the soaps - they don't last very long which shouldn't surprise anyone who buys handmade soaps. A bar costs $7 and lasted 11 showers for me - a bit shocking for an avowed Irish Spring user. -

I'm a sucker for anything that makes my skin look good.
At this point in the aging process, I'm not as concerned with my face anymore since there's really no hope, but I try to make the gams and the tush as smooth as possible as one never knows whose hands are going to rub me the right way.
Traditionally, I've used Buffy the Backside Slayer as my skin slougher of choice, but as I was in a relatively small town and wanted to support a relatively small local business, we stopped in here.
I looked around the store for things of interest, and although many were interesting, I had to factor in: a) getting stuff home in my suitcase across the border, and b) the fact that I own more lotions than a certain kind of self love slave, so I wandered back to where my companion stood- frozen by the smell. And not just an ordinary aromatic soap smell- I'm talking the body gelato in multiple flavors- particularly the Mai Tai, Vanilla Musk, and Mango Tango. The companion was enthralled by the scents beckoning him, claiming they "smelled good enough to eat."
I was more concerned about the practicality of the gelato. The problem with scrubs is that if they are not in a bar, you tend to lose half of them down the drain because they fall out of your hands. I decided to give Mai Tai a whirl on my hands in the sink, and was impressed by the staying power.
That did it- if the companion liked it and it didn't create a beach in my bathtub, I had to have it. Of course, I almost used all of it on my trip to ensure I was Mai Tai fabulous and oh-so-touchable during my stay, but I managed to get a little home and am still pleased.
This will definitely be a continued stop for me...if the companion lets me back. Smelling like this, one can only hope.Listed in: Oh Canada...
