Review from Maggie E.
Toronto, ON
After much debate, I finally got my my virgin hair highlighted. I was super scared it would be brassy and streak-y...ye know, that obvious I-just-got-hilites kinda look. Thankfully that was not the case. The 3 hours I spent there were well worth it. I ended up with golden brown sunkissed hair (like the kind you have to spend the whole summer on the beach kinda hair.)
Christopher is an artist. I highly recommend him if you distrust colourists and want a subtle change.
If you're in need of a trim Natasha is pretty awesome. She does my bangs justice.
By the way, there's a 20% student discount on all services. (Yay!) -
Review from Madelyn S.
Toronto, ON
I have lived in Toronto for almost four years now. I have not been able to find a salon that feels friendly, open and truly listens to what you would like done with your hair! A friend referred me to Salon Mod - specifically, Natasha. She is awesome.
She takes the time to really look at your hair and your face. They really live up to what they outline on their website. The location is clean, friendly and they always greet you with a beverage which is a lovely touch. The coffee is great.
I have become accustom to paying ridiculous prices for a cut in Toronto and this place is on par with other salons in the city. There are loads of characters that work in the salon, especially the co-owner. The staff are all professional, patient and make the space accessible. Often I find new salon's intimidating, but this place welcomes anyone.
Speaking to accessibility, it is close to transit and parking.
I didn't give this place a five quiet yet - I've been twice and can't wait to see how things go the next time I am there. If you are looking for a home salon - this should be your place. And Natasha, your stylist!
Specialties
Salon Mod Inc. has a hair cutting and hair colouring department. Their highly experienced stylists are both inovative and creative in hair cutting and styling techniques.

History
Established in 2009
SalonMod Inc. has been on the Danforth for 3yrs. Working in the hair industry for many years the co-owners wanted to create a salon with uniqueness and style where all can feel welcome and comfortable.
An example of this is the haircolour area. There are no mirrors instead there is an oval table with chairs. Once the colour service is done one has the option while processing to then sit at one of the coaches facing an aquarium of colourful fish. Another aspect is an electric fireplace which adds to the atmosphere especially on those cold winter days and nights.
Meet the Business Owner: Christopher R.
In the 20 plus years of being a color specialist I have come to realize that you can not rush quality work. One of the many reasons I wanted to become my own boss is to make sure the person under my care receives all the best a colourist has to offer. From using nothing but the highest quality of colour products to allocating the proper time needed to achieve the end result of a colour service.
Another reason is wanting to be as eco friendly as this industry allows us to be. A few ways of achieving this is to support and buy from like minded - companies Davines (colour line used at SalonMod), Kevin Murphy (Hair products for cleansing, conditioning, and styling).
We are also a member of the Green Circle Salons. This company keeps hair, colour tubes, excess colour mixtures and latex gloves out of the garbage sites.
I am truely happy, for finally now there is a way for salons to get on the eco train and make a difference.
