Best sushi to order is the Albacore.  It is the best value on the menu and fresh tasting.  It automatically has Wasabi in the sushi roll unless you request otherwise.  Personally, I did not like their spider roll.  It had no real crab.  Overall, decent priced and okay sushi.  On the plus side, you can order Tempura with 6 pieces of sweet potato tempura.

Vancouver BC has many sushi options -- some good and some bad, and I've experienced both.

This experience at Sachi Sushi does not even measure up to some of my "bad" experiences in Vancouver.

Considering this place boasts a framed certificate of being voted "Best Sushi in Whistler" in 2007 from Pique, I was really surprised at the quality of the rolls -- especially being that it is in Whistler.

Crunchy California Roll - Fell apart.  I could not even use my chopsticks because it just fell apart the moment I touched it.  There was no crunch -- it was actually soggy bits of tempura, which had no flavor at all.  Everything seemed fairly fresh though.

Prawn Tempura Roll - 4 PIECES?! Also fell apart.  The nori had turned to mush and was sticking to my chopsticks.  The prawn tempura was not warm or crunchy and must have been sitting a while.  The rest of the roll was average.

Cupcake Roll - PASS.  The sweet potato on the top was not crunchy, it was bland, and the edamame bean on top did not go with the roll at all.  All you could taste was the avocado inside.

Cucumber Roll - Average. Nothing special to note.

All these rolls came to $25.

With a couple of other options in whistler (Sushi Village, Nagomi, Samurai, etc.) it is best to try another route.

Came here for dinner. We eat a lot of sushi and have pretty discerning taste. Coming from Vancouver, we are used to pretty decent quality...

Sachi was a very pleasant surprise! We stopped by not knowing what to expect but were very pleasantly surprised! The quality was excellent. The sushi was expertly made and very fresh. Apparently the owner has been a sushi chef for 25 years.

The hako roll, box style sushi topped with thinly sliced lemon, was exquisite. Scallop, amaebi, beef(!), unagi, and spicy scallop roll were all delicious. Prawn tempura was light and tasty. Soft shell crab karage was tasty.

All in all, very excellent. If you're in whistler you gotta check it out!

The clientele here is definitely not Japanese.  This place is marketed towards people who do not eat traditional Japanese food.  Sushi chefs all under 30 years old, waitress didn't speak a lick of Japanese.....really long wait time with unorganized staff on weekday night.  Cramped little place, waiter bumped into every table all the time.  I would not come here with family.  Not worth it, wish I tried someplace else.

Some people say you can measure a sushi restaurant by the quality of the ikura.  That might be oversimplifying things but so far I've found it to be true!  The master sushi chef at Sachi served his own cured sockeye ikura the two nights we visited (of our three in Whistler) and it was amazing.  We ate so much they talked about us in our absence.  The rest of the sushi is great too but we had a hard time eating much more than the ikura.  We'll return every time we're in Whistler.

There are many sushi places in Whistler to choose from but this one seemed to get the most recommendations to tried it.

Overall I was happy. I thought it was good, but not amazing or anything.

Had the Mango roll which was very good (salmon, avocado, asparagus, mango and tuna inside the egg wrapper)
Also had the Cupcakes (avocado, edamame, and sweet potato tempura) which was very good so would highly recommend both of those.

Then asked our waiter for a recommendation and he brought us the roundhouse roll. This was just ok and double the price so I felt like I am been up-sold.  In fact, the waiter was not very friendly and would say the service was just ok.

The atmosphere is very generic so nothing added there.

I am generally hard on sushi places: they've got to be fresh, friendly, offer standard and interesting combinations of flavours and still be decent value.

For Whistler, Sachi is decent. If I were craving sushi and just had to have it, I would come here again. If it were in Vancouver there's no chance.

To start, the prices were outta control for being so close to Vancouver. $3 for standard nigiri? But the $10 hot pot was the biggest disappointment. The fish tasted old and overcooked, while the broth was simply a spicy water. The bbq eel roll saved the meal; it was tasty, fresh and saucy. The tempura was crisp - and had lotus root - score! And the cold house sake was delish!

Service was unsmiling yet friendly but unanticipating. 3 people, 4 rolls and just a pinch of wasabi on the table? It seemed a little cheap, if you ask me. And forgoing the offering of tea? I'm not sure if that is standard practice in the summertime, but seeing other tables around us with tea cups made me think otherwise. I dunno, I guess I just expected a little more on the service and food side and was left disappointed and still hungry.

Just got back from Whistler and I was so sad to leave this place. I enjoyed my dinner very much and absolutely loved the convenience of all the restaurants in the village.

I have eaten at many sushi restaurants but their wild sockeye salmon and scallop sashimi blew me away! So very tasty and sweet! I stopped by for dinner on a Saturday night at about 7. My fiance and I were going to try dinner @Elements but it was very loud and crowded so we decided to try this place instead. The restaurant is not very big but they do have a couple of booth type seating areas in the front. We opted for the bar to see what the chefs were creating.

    What we ordered:

Assorted Sashimi ($31 CAD)~ This was soo good we ended up ordering another one! This included hamachi, maguro (tuna), scallop, a bite of Alaskan king crab, grilled tuna with garlic sauce, salmon, and another fish I can't remember. The maguro (tuna) was ok, but everything else was awesome!
Tempura udon~ Good broth, not too salty. The only thing lacking are other ingredients. If you go to Sushi Village, they have shitake mushrooms and other veggies in theirs but otherwise, their portions were about the same size.
    Sake flight
Grilled sablefish~ OMG!! This just melted in my mouth! You have to try this!!

I am usually not a fan of ski food but I can't wait to go back to Whistler for more fresh sushi and powder :)

I somehow managed to get the wierdest combination of rolls for take out here.  They were ok; but not amazing.  The feeling i was left with was "huh, they really love their spicy mayo eh?"

Spicy mayo aside, the people there were very friendly and always very busy (we were turned away twice; hence the take out as last resort) and the fish was fresh enough.

The wait in the freezing spitting cold with a toddler throwing him edamame beans like a flapping seal was not so fun; but I guess it's not their fault that the taxi took sooo long to come!

Another great restaurant tucked behind the main stroll of Whistler Village.  Although it was quite busy, we were able to get a table within a half hour.

I ordered a couple sushi rolls and yam tempura.  While the menu stated my yam order would contain 5 pieces ... it came with closer to 8 pieces (and I'm not complaining!).  The tempura was light and not very greasy, the sushi was fresh and delicious.

The staff were busy so not around very often.

If you aren't into too much mood lighting and techno while you eat, Sachi is the place to be.

Originally I was going to give it 3 stars, but then I realized that I felt like throwing up basically from the truck crossing border till I got to Sachi's, and after drinking lots of green tea, water and miso soup I felt better (there might be a chance I was just dehydrated).

We had the assorted sashimi (nice cuts), cali rolls, sukiyaki (really salty, make sure to order a bowl of rice), bbq salmon roll, and tempura (not as light and fluffy as it could have been).

I've been here only a handful of times over the past few years, but I've always had a good experience. It a bit out of the core of the village, but still close. I find the restaurant is well lit, not too noisy and the staff are friendly.

Everything I've eaten has been very good, from the bento box for lunch or the rolls, seaweed salad or udon.

It's not the cheapest place in town (that's Samurai), but it's also not the most expensive. I like good value so I come here. If you want a good meal but don't want to max your credit card, eat here!

Excellent special rolls (Mango Roll and Cupcakes especially), finally some proper miso soup.  Their homemade gyoza was also pretty good.  The prices were not too bad (for a ski village restaurant) and we wavered a bit before deciding on which off the multiple sushi bars to visit in Whistler.  We hoped to get into Vancouver for sushi but since we were stuck in the village that night but am glad we picked this local place as the service was good and the food really good. I did notice that many of the rolls include spicy mayo, so if you don't like that then your choices might be pretty limited.

The restaurants on Main Street in Village North are hidden gems.  While the typical wait at a popular restaurant in the main village can be as long as 90 minutes in the evenings on the weekends, you can easily get a table at a cool restaurant on Main Street in less than 30 minutes.

After checking in to the HIlton on a Friday night, we wanted something light after the drive from Vancouver so we walked across the square from the hotel to Sushi Village.  A 90-minute wait quickly helped us to decide to check out the restaurants on the more quiet Main Street in Village North.

A short walk landed us at Sachi Sushi.  We were seated in less than 30 minutes in a packed room with lively but well behaved crowds.  It is definitely a hidden gem with friendly service, good food and moderate prices.  My nabeyaki udon was around $9 and the daily special calamari was just around $12-$15.  My calamari was a whole squid with body rings and whole tentacles very lightly battered and pan fried.  Flavour and consistency were perfect.  The rolls are also tasty, fresh, and, clever.  Yes, clever.  The rolls are traditional with just the right amount of twists.

Not worth it. We had a spicy tuna roll that had no spice to it. Tataki salad was tuna on iceberg lettuce. An overall disappointment.

Sachi Sushi is my favourite sushi place in Whistler. Like all Whistler sushi places the prices are a little steep, but at Sachi they are not outlandish.

There is a diverse menu with all the typical Japanese delights you would expect and some originals. For me, the standout highlight are the Kani Blossoms: avacado wrapped in ahi tuni like a nigiri with dungeness crab on top. So good!

If there are 6 or more in you party you can get a reservation. Otherwise expect to wait a little white depending on the day and time of year. Wait staff are really.

If you want sushi in Whistler, check it out!

We went to Sachi Sushi here for our last night in Whistler. The place was pretty packed but we got seated in 10 minutes in the bar, which we didn't mind cause we like to watch the chefs making sushi. Our server was really nice an attentive.

We ordered the negihama nigiri, sake nigiri, kani blossoms (avocado wrapped in tuna with crab, cupcakes (veggie sushi with sweet potato tempura, avocado, and edamame), sachi roll (scallop and the sushi was wrapped with soy crepe instead of seaweed). The fish was fresh but the rice in the nigiris fell apart fast especially when I dipped it in my soy sauce. We also ordered udon with tempura, which wasn't bad but it could use some vegetables in the dish. For dessert, our server recommended the green tea creme brulee and it was to die for. I was scraping the bottom of the ramekin!!! Yummy for my tummy :)

Only a four star cause sometimes they try to push you out the door, and I think that's the pits.

This place knocked my socks off. I went here for my birthday and I had the best sushi of my life.
The nigiri and sashimi was amazing. The fish was perfect in texture and taste. I had to get two 10 peice assorted nigiri it was so good.
We sat at the bar and watched the chefs at work. The rolls were also wonderfull and inventive. A very nice mix of creativity and classic maki styles.

I can't give this place a rating high enough. The service was prompt. The prices fair. The quality: Amazing.

If you want sushi in Whistler do your mouth a favor and check this place out. It is kind of small so show up a little early or be prepared to have a short wait. Cheers.

It's amazing where you can find fresh fish and great Japanese foods but seriously, Whistler?  It's been a long time since I've had a good, melt in your mouth Hamachi and Toro.  It's been never as cheap as $3 per piece of Toro.  Added bonus is the 20% discount the current Canadian dollar gives you.  One more reason to love Whistler!

I have had nothing but amazing food while I've been in Whistler, and my dinner at Sachi was one of my favorites.  Service was quick although the place was packed, and I LOVED the Sachi Roll.  We had 3 other rolls too - Karaage tuna, shrimp tempura, and ... hmm, somethings else.  All were delicious and I seriously contemplated coming back the next day for more.  Yum.

Don't bother with the ramen or donburi or whatever. Just order the sushi, especially the nigiri sushi or sashimi.

Being cautious about sushi places I haven't been to before, I started with the special rolls.  They were good, even though I had them leave out the flavored mayo which I'm not a fan of.  Noticing the high quality of the fish inside, we ordered several pieces of nigiri.  The tuna and the sake (salmon, locally caught) were very fresh, tender and delicious.  I just wish we'd had time to go back for more!

    Friendly service too :)
