My husband, a friend and myself went to eat here after work this week.  The restaurant is small but inviting.  We were seated in a leather booth.  You know, the kind that squeaks a bit when you fidget around.

Their menu contains two pages of food choices.  This is a plus for the hubby.  He has a hard time making choices.  After some contemplation, the waitress arrived and we were ready to place our order which consisted of:

Drinks: husband and I had the Thai iced tea- really tasty but 3.50 is a little steep.
Friend ordered the monks blend tea which I have to say, is really good.  I'm no tea snob but was quite impressed.  It leaves tasty little aftertaste in your mouth for a few seconds which I quite enjoyed.

Appetizer: thai'd up shrimp:  this was exactly what it sounds like.  6 pieces of shrimp, each on a skewer wrapped in vermicilli noodles and fried.  Served with peanut sauce I need to learn how to make.  Overall simple dish but quite good.  You can never go wrong with meat on a stick.

    Main dish:
Hubby: pad Thai - they didn't ask him how hot he wanted it.  I guess it comes with one option - really f'n hot!  He can handle his spice and this plate was making his nose run. He ate it all though and enjoyed it.  I snagged a single, lonely bean sprout off his plate and had to immediately douse my palate with some water.  Too hot for me.

Friend:  green curry chicken:  We were told that the green curry was hotter and were expectingas such.  This dish however,  was not hot at all. I really enjoyed it and found it to have a very smooth taste.  Would recommend this one.

Me:  BBQ duck in a red coconut curry with lychee.  $18.00
This dish is found in a section with a note that says something a little different and that's exactly what I got.  I was quite surprised to learn that duck and lychee, though an odd combination, compliment each other quite nicely.  This dish was pretty darn tasty.  My only complaint was the bones.  I had to ask for a knife to seperate the meat.  The neat was cooked well and was not overly fatty which is always a concern when I order duck.

Side: rice $2.00 (I feel the rice should be free or a smaller bowl included with the curry dishes)

Overall,  we were all very full and satisfied after our meals and will go there again.

I'd like to give a 3.5 star rating but yelp won't let me so I'm going with 4.  Though my dish was one of the more costly items on the menu,  it is duck...  And I've paid a he'll of a lot more for duck than 18$ before.  Decent prices go a long way in my books.

The deep fried battered calamari was very tender and not greasy at all; it came with a peanut based dipping sauce. The green curry soup was very rich and creamy and had a good hit of spice lingering in my mouth afterwards.

Entrees are about $9-$12 and offers noodles and curry dishes; most come with a choice of tofu or chicken while shrimp will cost you an extra $2.95. Rice is extra as well. The Chiang Mai noodles came with rice vermicelli, bean sprouts, red peppers, chicken, other veggies, coconut milk etc. It wasn't what I expected and it tasted okay but it was almost too rich and creamy for my tastes. The matsuman curry with chicken was another okay dish that didn't really provide much heat. Also, it was pretty hard to find any chicken in either of those two dishes. The green curry tofu was a nice and flavourful dish but also didn't have the heat that I was looking for.

The restaurant is on the smaller side but can provide seating for larger groups. It has a pretty decent selection of wine, beer (lots of imports) and mixed drinks.

This place was okay but I wouldn't go running back anytime soon.

I can't say enough about how fantastic Sabai Thai is!! I could bathe in their homemade peanut sauce, it is out of this world fantastic! The 3 mushroom Panang curry is my favorite dish, exploding with silky smooth deep and rich flavor! They also serve up one of the best bowls of Tom Yum I've ever had. We usually add shrimp to our dishes which is always plump and cooked to perfection. The salads are also out of this world! Yum!

Awesome food. Have almost tried each dish on the menu and can't say I've come across one I didn't love. Super nice staff too.

Went here tonight for the first time as was a little underwhelmed with the food. That atmosphere was nice, clean, quiet and comfortable. Service was okay, but nothing special. The food, however, left my wife and me a little confused. The dishes we ordered seemed to be a combination of too many flavours. The curry had garlic, bamboo shoots, peppers, onion, cabbage, ginger and it sounded good on the menu, but made for just a confusing dish. Plus they wouldn't give my wife any rice with her curry. They were going to charge her extra. We'll try it again because there were some other entrees we wanted to try, but not for a while.
