Although not the biggest location, this library is pleasant, well-architected and designed, with an excellent kids section, extensive play areas including a rocket, good activities, a cafe area, good Internet access, natural light.  It's the nicest library I've been in for children, and it's pretty solid for adults.

I can't claim to have looked over book selection extensively yet, but the TPL inter-branch system means that's not as important as it might be elsewhere.

This pretty new building (I love the central high ceiling) houses an excellent multilingual collection, several shelves of graphic novels, community programs, great computer access, and the biggest, coolest children's library I've seen at the TPLs.  If you live anywhere in the area and have kids, you have to take them there asap.  There are cozy reading areas, toys, a spaceship, a dedicated children's librarian, and story phones, where a kid can pick up a receiver to hear a tale.  Best of all, lots of books!

This newly renovated branch in East York is a gleaming gem in TPL's linup of branches. There's plenty of computers; a learning centre, auditorium downstairs, a huge children's section for the kiddies and a cafe downstairs for eating. What I like most is that there are plenty of study spots along the outer left edges of the library in the form of jutted out work desks; cozy enough and near the windows so plenty of natural light for reading and pondering. It's a bit of trek to get to, a short bus ride from Coxwell station but it's clean, open and the staff are some of the nicest library staff I've seen.
