Just came home from dinner at this Sichuan restaurant. It's basically a poorly decorated Chinese cafeteria. Not really my scene, but I would go back anytime! Maybe not for a romantic date or anything, but a quick Tuesday weeknight din.
We ordered the fried rice, it's good, but not the best I've ever had. Now the second dish... MMMmmmmmmm!
Fish, pickled cabbages, vermicelli, green onions and spicey peppers. Simple enough, but tastes amazing. The best part is that it was $14.95 and this would have been enough to feed the 2 of us with our bowls of rice. (Rice extra charge)
I don't usually eat spicey food so it felt like a flamethrower was being set off in my mouth..but it was all worth it!Listed in: Cheap Eats in Burnaby

Tasty authentic Sichuan restaurant in Crystal Mall in Burnaby. This place makes me think of Chengdu, the food is spicy and flavourful. A cook was preparing a big vat of dried peppers in front for the kitchen. Always a good sign.
My favourite here was the Mapo Dofu which has plenty of Ma (the numbing pepper) unlike in most restaurants in town. Tried the cilantro tilapia fish that some of the boards are raving about but I found it a bit too fussy with the batter and sauce.
If you're in burnaby and looking for a Sichuan kick, give this place a go. -

This is the REAL Sichuan/Yunnan style! My girlfriend is from Southwest China and she confirms that this is the real deal. Many of the dishes are very spicy but everything I have had is delicious. My favorites are as follows:
- Minced Pork with preserved long bean
- Fried Chicken and chili pepper
- Rice Noodle with pork
There aren't many places that do this style so if you are adventurous than go check this place out. -

I like their fried fish in a spicy cilantro sauce that is a 4 star dish but their chicken with dried chili 2 stars.
