You're not going to find a comic store in Vancouver with better prices for used trade paperbacks. If you're a comic fan like me who doesn't care about every book in your collection being in mint condition, RX Comics is great for picking up 2nd hand trades that are usually 50% off the original retail price located on the shelves right next to the entrance. The two guys who run the place are knowledgeable and have gladly helped me find used books. Awesome.

It's a small comic shop due to space, therefore, it's unfair for me to compare them to the bigger stores downtown. They do carry comics, however, I see more of a focus on independent publications which is right up my ally. They do have some cool books. Even though they have a good selection of merchandise, there is nothing that really stands out between them and the other comic stores. This is an awesome place for second hand stuff which is a plus for me as I really don't care about the condition so much as the content of the stuff itself. For those who are just getting into comics, the staff are really nice. This is a good starter place.

Always super helpful at finding what you want. And they order what they don't have. Also good section of used trades. I love this little store.
They only setback is that it's a bit hard to navigate around. It's like trying to find a gem in your Grandma's attic.
If you aren't in a rush, this is a great place for comics. -

RX is a good, nice comic shop on Main Street. It's small and cramped, but that's because they pack as much as possible into its small storefront.
The comic books are are sold at US prices on par and they have a pretty wide selection. The staff is nice and friendly.
It can be a little out of the way and parking can be a challenge, but it's usually worth the trouble. -

this is hands down the best comic/collectible shop in the city. it's small and absolutely PACKED with stuff ... if you want that giant open store feel with a million books on the walls then go downtown - this spot is way too awesome and real for that corporate megastore feel.
the owner and staffabouts are true fans of what they do - and in my case as someone who had read and collected well over 5000 comics back in 1981 - these guys have had the answer to every single comic question I have ever asked of them - old , new , popular or obscure.
best art book place ever. check those boxes!
great prices , awesome staff , amazing selection , up to date , on point , with it , awesome , rad ... highly recommended.
if you are a toy collector ( art vinyl etc ) - you may very well find stuff here that is unavailable anywhere else in town... there are some shelves in the back there that are stacked with collector vinyl that a lot of people don't even know about. new , old , etc.
this is a collectors store for collectors and doesn't have the wide open super displays and epic racks of some larger stores ... so total strangers to the scene who stroll in here may not know what they are looking at or where to start looking ... you get to dig here - which is really part of the magic to any real collector... All the new titles are displayed nice and proper every wednesday :)
if you really want to get the scoop on some of the best picks here - you gotta show up on the day they get their shipments ( not telling ). Comics and whatnot hit the shelves right away - but it's the rare books and other awesome stuff that they usually only get a couple of that you need to be on the lookout for - these guys order some amazing books! I have shelves and shelves full of stuff from this shop - and go back all the time to see what else they've gotten in.
super super recommended to real fans and collectors. -

This place is easily the best comic shop in town. Good fair prices on par with us listed price on comic. Staff is quiet but super friendly and straight up if u ask about anything. If ur new to the comic game, like me, u won't feel nervous or intimidated or like an idiot when talking to staff. I even bought two Copies of JL#3 instead of one copy of JL#3 and one of JLI#3 and they gladly exchanged it. Also they gave free Mylar sleeves with cardboard backing for the purchased comics. Best comic book store...ever.

This tiny little comic shop is just past the fork between Main Street and Kingsway, tucked away beside an actual bookstore and full of enthusiastic 20-something fans who are into the more obscure and/or violent super-heroes.
There are 3 long shelves full of plastic wrapped back-titles with everything from the popular idols like Wolverine and The Punisher, to the more incomprehensible artsy characters like The Preacher, and This American Life. It's a good place to go to buy graphic novels too, if you like thick black and white stories about androids in Japan.
Obviously there's also the collection of replica toys that buyers don't remove from the box, and posters with tough looking mutant assassins with inhumanely large breasts. My personal favorite is the three huge boxes of comics that they leave on the front stoop, worthless pulp fiction that's worth looking through, since they're only 25 cents each or ten for a dollar. -

I stopped in the other day to close out my pull file, as I have moved to a new neighborhood and am no longer really in the area that often during business hours. I just wanted to say that although I offered to pay the store out for any books they had pre-ordered on my behalf, they graciously declined. Also, the store has a nice new door and is looking as clean and as organized as I've ever seen it. Although it's no longer my homebase store, they get mad respect for being cool to deal with, I'll continue to stop in and throw them so business if I happen to be in the hood.

I really like this place. In most comic shops it's a competition to see who is more knowledgeable and us newbies had better run but I went in and felt right at home. I was helped and had good conversation and got exactly what I wanted plus a little education as well without being made to feel like an idiot. For anyone who wants the real deal in comics and graphic novel purchasing this is the place to go!

Loving this place. Really nice collection and super friendly staff. The man INSISTED I leave my number so he can call me when my comic book comes in. He still hasn't called yet.. but it's the principles. They are unpretentious and very helpful. Lots of indie stuff here. Check this place out if you like comic books.

Excellent collection of North American and Japanese stuff coupled with an excellent staff makes this a very good choice. In addition to the plentiful collection of common titles, they have boxes of rare stuff and a good assortment of local publishers and zines. Definitely worth the trip.

Review from Emma L.
My local comic shop when I lived on Main. I would walk all the way up from King Ed to visit this place, because I knew they'd always have what I wanted (and probably a few other things too). It's not the prettiest place, but when are comic shops ever pretty? What you want is good selection and knowledgeable staff, and that's what RX has. And comics and graphic novels always sell at the US cover price!

I walked in one day just wondering what comic book they might recommend, someone mentioned "Essex County", I am from Essex County so I had to buy it, was a great book and since then Rx Comics is the first place I recommend for comic needs.

One of the best comic stores in the city. Sure there may be bigger ones, there may be prettier ones, but. They don't have the staff of RX. These guys know their comics. They also have the best selection of local Vancouver Indy comics. So if you are looking for something unique and that supports local artists, then stop in at RX for a good time.

Aaron, Don and Kelly rock. Yes, the place is stuffed to the gills with comics and toys, but isn't that how we all like it?
RX really does have your prescription for your comic and toy addiction! (lame, but that's their slogan).
Seriously, the boys will look after you if you let them know what your RX fetish is. -
Review from cassidy c.
great selection of of heavy metal mags for very cheap. why not. jam packed like floor to ceiling. usual nerdy comic shop staff. kinda helpful. it is very easy to drop a hundo in here because of the volume of stuff you didn't know you wanted. i want more indie comics and magazines please
