Great Great food & friendly service and nice atmosphere .
You can really taste the fresh ingredients in every bite of the sandwich . Very reasonable price given the high quality of the food . The sauces are just amazing with the fries . I highly recommend the mayo wasabi sauce .
By far best Falafel in town .
Green mint tea at the end of your meal is a must.
One of my favorite spots in Montreal

I have shivery midnight dreams about the salmon wrap (perfectly spiced and cooked to delicate perfection) hummus (nutty and deep and warm) and cheese bread (crispy and melty) here.

Legit one of the best meals of my life. Such a relaxed, chilled out little cafe to while the hours away.

I will honestly say that they make the best Falafel sandwich I ever ate!
You can really taste the fresh mint, fresh coriander and sesame sauce, plus, they grill it!  Take it out and enjoy it in Parc Mt. Royal, it's well worth the wait. Delicious!

Do you remember growing up as a child and you were served your favorite food and it made you warm and fuzzy inside and even now you sometimes go back to it when you are regressing because you want to feel better and so like all the other amateur psychologists you justify it by calling it 'comfort food?'

    Of course you do.

And if you're like me and your comfort food tends to be from other parts of the world, particularly the middle east, I have news for you, my friend.  Rumi Cafe and Grill is nothing short of authentically awesome middle eastern food.

Now mind you, the middle east encapsulates a lot of different styles, so we are talking about the common denominator stuff here. The Hummus. The Mezze Platters. The Shish-kabobs and saffron rice.

We both had the same thing: fattoush salad, chicken shish kabob with light sumac and saffron-spiced rice. And then we both sat there reminiscing about our childhoods. Because that's what good food does. Like love, it takes you places. Sometimes to the past, sometimes to somewhere new. This was all about the past.

Besides the meat cubes n' rice, we also had some kind of bread which was like nan but with whole wheat yet still kind of fluffy and also not, and delicately spiced with some kind of...I'm sorry-- is your mouth watering?  Could you not do that while I'm writing this review?

Service: A plus attentive. Atmosphere-- authentic, tasteful. they were even playing middle eastern music on the stereo. the price was fine.

    Just go.

    Go now.

I've never been to the more upscale location on Hutchinson, but this place was fantastic. I personally tried both the safran plate and sandwich, both were excellent but I favoured the sandwich...the sauces were amazing.

Never will I look at Basha the same way knowing this place exist!

I was looking forward to this place but was disappointed. Fattouch salad could have been good, but the tomatoes were not fresh and tasted of being in fridge for too long. All mushy and weird tasting. Soup was okay. Chicken was WAY overcooked. And I like my chicken overcooked, but not to the point of extreme dryness. Fries were okay, not great, a bit overdone. Rice was okay. Basil lemonade was really boring not yummy. I wanted to like you Rumi...I think you guys can do better if you used fresh ingredients and didn't overcook the meat.
